Well, first of all forgive me for any mistakes in English.
I really would like to have a "so called" super unlockables ones, but now I'm confused. Early I was almost sertain thet they will be in, but now my mind is full off doubts. I watched an interview with Ed Boon, and he said that basicly there will be 24 fighter, but there will be many more off them in the game. It could mean that he was speaking about those in Konquets mode. In his topic Dr.Dogg wrote that there are 3 characters that you fight that are no from the basic 24 and that are - Jax, Shang, Quan. Those kind off characters were my types for super unlockables, there are only 3 of them, I thought there would be more. But one thing makes me think that Dr.Dogg didn't play the final version of konquest - he also wrote, that he didn't see Sonya and Johnny Cage nowhere in koquest, in none of the realms. This is very strange, because Boon said that every charcter from MK universe will be there. Sonya and Cage are key characters, if they are not in the main game they should be in the konquest at least, don't you think?
And there is another part of that story, every time a publisher talking about his new game he say that it will be the best, beautiful, crucial and that kind of things. And we, players, wish that would be true, but in 99% cases ours hopes are as Gandalf said "fools hope". Maybe I'm a fool, but i belive that there will be secret character and among them will be Kitana. And I wish it also to you all.

I wouldn't be suprised if there were no "Super Unlockables", though we did hear Boon say, "In konquest there will be endless possibilities, you may be in the forest at a certain time and fight a character and unlock secrets no one else knows."
So in my mind, I have no idea if there will be super unlockables. If there are though, I would only think there would be 2, maximum 4, and I completly doubt that there are 4, that would require a lot of work.

u know what ? while we're here busy ripping and biting each other's heads off, Midway represantatives or maybe Ed Boon himself would have been secretly browsing this particular thread
and laughing their arses off thinking "Silly MK gamers, little did they know the ultimate Deception would be us deceiving them about the so-called super-unlockables. Ha!" Really, Ed Boon should just come clean with us and tell us whether or not straight-up there will be super-unlockables for Kombat mode. I mean, it's not that his gonna tell us how to unlock any of the characters, just tell us whether or not there will actually be super-unlockables.

He did. In a video that many upon many people have seen he stated that there will be 'Super Unlockable Characters' that you get by going back to Konquest after you have initially finished Konquest. So I am guessing they are side quests and what not. Even Dr.Dogg said, and I quote 'Even if you get everything the first time through (doubtful), there are a lot of things you can't do until you complete Konquest. You can't even access half of Netherrealm and Chaosrealm until you've completed Konquest.' Note he said there are things you CAN'T do until you complete it.

dogg I think your facts are correct bur your assumptions are bullshit
Remember Ed Boon is still the lead guy of the game, it's his game..in MK1 they stuck Reptile in and a lot of the people didn't even know about it right? Only a programmer or two.
They obviously made enough characters/features to satisfy the suits so they also stuck in real secrets just for fun.
"1. Did he finish the game???
I have gone through Konquest once, and done a lot of stuff after you complete Konquest. Have I gotten everything there is to get? Nope.
2. Does he have the final build???
The build I played was over 90% complete. There are only so many changes you can make at that point in development."
Right exactly. The version you played seemed basically done right? So maybe they're adding the secret characters in that last 10%
"3. Did Boon tell him there are no supers???
No. Because Boon was too busy finishing everything up to talk to media. The director of Marketing at Midway is where the info came from and I would think he'd know what to tell someone reviewing the game for a magazine. If he doesn't know, he would say so. You don't lie to the press. They help fuel sales of your games."
I don't think they want to market something casual players might not be able to get...and they probably don't want to market a secret, cuz that ruins the surprise.
"4. Did he contact Midway himself???
I didn't have to. I was right there when my friend called."
That's just as good as having a friend call a 7-11 for information... "Hi can someone there read a magazine for me and tell me the features"
"mastermalone... I'm sorry, but you're clueless as to how this stuff works. There's a significant difference between the E3 build and the build I'm playing now. Yes, it's still only a build, but it's over 90% and dated early September. There's only so much you can do to the game between early September and the time it goes gold (probably within the next week).
I have a stack of preview builds sitting right next to me. Preview builds are just that, previews of games. Review builds (which is what I played of MKD, what Game Informer based their review on, etc.), are near final and meant to be reviewed. That means that everything will be in the game, and whatever is missing the publisher will tell you about. Sure, my build could be missing stuff, but whole characters? I highly doubt that.
To Everyone else... You can't unlock Raiden or Liu Kang until after you complete Konquest mode. In addition, there are a good deal of things that are time-specific. Could I have missed 3 super unlockables... sure. But that's why Midway was asked if there are more characters. The janitor wasn't asked. Someone who knows nothing of MK... wasn't asked. We asked the person who would know best outside of the development team. The people who are in charge of hyping the game. You can't hype a game by lying to the people reviewing your product."
LMAO I think you're what Boon is hoping for, people who are basically suckers into thinking there's nothing extra in the game.

I agree with all of that. There is no way that people who work for Midway would just come out to you and reveal secrets. Of course they are gonna lie. It's just so the info wont come out. They don't want to spoil the surprise. Perfect example. I was on a James Bond forum when around July '02, the storyline for Die Another Day leaks. People write MGM. MGM denies it because they don't want it to spoil. What happens? What I read that day, was exactly what was in the movie, with a few extra details added.

Just a quick question, did you beat konquest and unlock all of the characters along the way? or what?

No offense PhoenixWarrior, but you've twice told the people of the opposing side with actual facts to stop "flaming" when they are only logically pointing out what was wrong with the arguments. You did not jump on the people inciting the "flaming" in the first place, which are rebuttals & speculations without any given facts vs. given facts. So instead of telling people who actually have some validity in what they say to stop arguing, how about telling the people who had nothing to add, but their own fanboyism/speculation/etc. to stop inciting it in the first place? No one was attacked on this thread besides Ninja_Arts and DrDogg, who have had defend themselves through this thread to just GIVE you guys FREE INFORMATION, jesus christ. Just say thanks and move on, if you can't deal with there not being super secret characters, go pray for them, but don't attack contributors simply because they go against what you wanted.
I mean you guys make absolutely no sense at all. IF they wanted to sell their game and attract more fans, they would tell every magazine that there are "SUPER SECRET CHARACTERS." Everyone will jump on the bandwagon, including reviews from many many places helping to hype it up and rave about how if you spend all your time unlocking, you will get "SUPER SECRET CHARACTERS". To make no mention at all would mean they don't want have anything to show. But what's more is that THEY TELL DrDogg's reviewer friend that there is ONLY 24 characters. Not just omitting the question or hiding the fact, but saying that. You think that every magazine saying there are 24 characters is gonna be happy when they have raging fanboys jumping the hatemail and credibility of each reviewing place down the drain? lol, Midway would get blacklisted for quite awhile.
This is from marketing, you guys really think that the marketer from Midway wouldn't jump out and say "Oh man the amount of secrets is astounding, we even have SUPER secret characters?" Of course they would, they would want THAT to hype up there game. I mean do you guys seriously think that not mentioning it would help sales? lol. Just cause they mention there are "Super Secrets" doesn't mean they're revealing it.
I really don't care either way, you guys can continue trying to defend Boon or whatever, but Boon has said many things in the past that never came through. If there is or isn't any "super secret characters" is nothing for me to lose sleep over.

| DrDogg Wrote: And as far as calling 7-11, you do understand that the person who called works for a major gaming magazine. A mag where a bad review would make a lot of people take notice. |
So you are saying that 'IF' this marketing director didn't tell you the whole truth, that your friends mag would BASH the game?? Hrm, does not sound like to me he needs to make an objective opinion about anything.
| DrDogg Wrote: If a major magazine publishes that there are onlu 24 characters, and there are actually 27, that hurts Midway. |
Sorry I have to call bullshit on this one. If I ever see a mag report BAD info such as saying there are 24 chars when there are 27, I am not flaming Midway. I am cussing the stupid mag for not getting their shit straight.
Boon is quoted saying there will be super unlockables and you get them after you finish Konquest by going back to Konquest. You can hold to what facts and sources you want but since this guy is the LEAD, hrm....I am gonna believe him.
EDIT: BTW none of my posts have been flaming. Anyone can not that I have used quoted material to form my arguments and my fact in documented in vid.

Widow, so you think that every mag is gonna review any future MK favorably or any Midway game altogether if the Midway marketing team lies to the reviewers and thus causes the reviewing mags to get hatemail/shit/loss of credibility/etc.? LOL.
Okay, I'm sure the Midway marketing team is gonna get favorable reviews and answers in the future when they contact the reviewers again for their next game, when they are the ones that cause the magazine/website/etc. to get hated on, lol.
Edit: Don't place so much blind faith in Boon. Remember what Boon said about MKDA? There will be stage interactivity, there will be stage fatalities, there will be an immersive Konquest system, etc. I mean they even hounded on the immersive Konquest thing until the release. We all play it and it was like what? Was a movelist tutorial with a few blurbs of story, wow.
Again, I don't really care whether there are super secret characters or not, so take it from someone who is in this argument unbiased when I say that Boon has always ALWAYS said stuff for every MK since MK2 that did not happen. But I'm sure few remember when places started to print that Raiden was going to use a staff and all back in MK2 speculation.
