Since this game is supposed to go back to MK2 roots and be familiar to MK2 fans, I think it should be Kintaro instead. Otherwise, I don't really care which one makes the cut. They all look and feel the same to me-- lately.

I've always been a Kintaro fan. I'll say that off the bat. What I like about him personality/appearance wise.

- Tiger Stripes.
- Shokan Mixed with Tiger.
- More Brutal.
- Much More Powerful Then Goro.
- Shao Kahn's right hand man.
- Supreme Commander of Outworld's Armed Forces.

If any Shokan makes it, I hope it's him. If not then no Shokan's.

Kitaro> Goro

What a surprise to see for "casual" MK fans. They should recognize him from MK2 though.

No matter what, NO PLAYABLE BOSS CHARACTERS!!

geeze..

If they're big, boss, or just overall huge characters, just program the A.I.

omg. lol

FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS!!!

And Kintaro can pwn Goro anyday.

- Looks cooler.
- Goro's stale and worn out.
- This last bit is just my own personal interpretation, but I always saw Kintaro as this raging nutbar who would go berserk at the drop of a hat. I like that.

Back on topic, I suspect if any Shokan is included, it'll be Goro since he's the most "iconic." However, I don't think he should be one of the regular playable characters. Might offer variety in the gameplay, but would probably be very unbalanced.

If Goro gets in, he should be a sub-boss or something.

General consensus has to be he was the logical (and superior) progression in the design of Shokan fighters. The model moved better, it was more believable, and the design was so much more interesting.
In a game where the value of visuals was so heavy, it's not surprising Kintaro earnt a lot of fans before nostalgia fans, and newbies took over.

If we're inflecting potential -- I like to think of Kintaro as a Shokan patriot who entered zealously to honor Goro, but upon his return, has slowly become disillusioned as he sees what he perceives to be feet of clay (political flip flopping).

And since we rarely spend any time exploring or developing the characters in MK, I like to think I'll never have to stop dreaming... lulz

Tigers are more realistic a threat than dragons are. The association with that animal in relation to a "half-man" breed has much more potential to be realized from a Tiger, than that of an alien man, dragon, four armed beast. (easier concept to grow out of over time)

Goro has been through so much it's not even funny. Right now, it just feels like he's a dead, hollow husk that keeps bothering MK games, every so many times per console. So, in the spirit of starting all over, Kinaro deserves to be the next fore-runner for shokan representation. He's more fierce looking, and in the beginning, was described as a super-cession from Goro in a couple ways.

As for his design, Kintaro is more "scary" than Goro. Once they made that leap, they cursed Goro to mediocrity. I don't really associate Kintaro with the dragon half of himself. I'm more enthused about the fact that tiger, and man makes an interesting four-armed creature. He's like the intriguing, mysterious appearance of the "red - head". Not many people have naturally red(okay, bright red-ish-orange) hair.

It's kinda exotic I guess, so it makes one wonder if he's an asshole by his look (which is "judging a book by it's cover, children....and that's bad, lol *no shots fired*), or if he's actually an approachable individual on some level. Since we're talking about Kintaro, then HELL NOO! He's not approachable haha......you wouldn't ignorantly walk right up to a real Tiger now would you?!! Eeek!

Imagine that presence in a man....with 4 arms! Iyee!

Basically, he's a more scary character than the more "absent fur" Goro, because it's a more realistic fantastic combination......

If that makes sense...

Every time I think about Goro being in this game, I get such a bitter and stale taste in my mouth. Such an overused boss that really isn't all that.

I like Kintaro's costume the most, but I like Sheeva overall.

She kicks major ass.

I would like to have a newly created character in this game. Both on the MK side and the DC side, just to equal things a bit. I really don't give a shit about new DC characters, but i would like to see some new MK characters in this game. Wasn't that the most fiercely promoted new feature of the upcoming game, when it was only known as "MK 8" ?

Anyways, Midway i have a new solution, put the 10 / 11 characters of each side without any new face, but create ingame rumours about them, like the classic secrets on the 2D MKs. Rumours and legends about new characters, and then when the true MK8 comes out (yes, i'm still hoping that MK vs DCU is non-canon, and that the so called "MK8", with almost all new characters and new fighting style etc, is released somewhere in 2009 / 10), use those rumours as bios for some of the new characters.

Stay to the original not the rehashes. I'd been more pleased if that one had been left out as well tho'.

It doesnt really matter to me, but I will be happy to see 1 four-armed beast in the game.

And even though Kintaro seemed cooler in MKT (the concept pic of him was wicked!), Goro is more iconic and has been given a lot more depth then Kintaro (who looked horrible...extremely horrible in MKA).

As long as he looks like the Goro
from MK SM video. Thats the best
I have ever seen Goro really.

The only reason I think Goro would make it over Kintaro is yes he's more iconic. Which sucks a bit because Kintaro had a much better design. They're basically the same other than appearance.

Goro. More iconic. I never really liked Kintaro. Sure he's got more details in his appearance than Goro but Goro's 8 feet tall and has four arms, how complex does his outfit have to be to make him interesting? When people think MK, they're sooner to think of Goro than Kintaro.

But still, Sheeva > Goro + Kintaro
