We still don't know what the finishers will be.
Maybe a compromise between MK's violence, and DC's standards and practises? Superman banishes you to the Phantom Zone? Batman cripples and/or maims you? Aquaman splashes water on your clean shirt?

If the fatalities make it, so be it. I'm not really concerned with that. But in my opinion, the DC characters are really...cartoonish..Guys with their underwear on the outside.. NAmes like Superman and Martian Manhunter..I dunno, I just can't seem to envision these two groups of characters together, but I guess we'll see in the future how it goes.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but are you saying I lack imagination? I can envision a lot of things but this one will take some getting used to. I'm not saying it'll be a bad OR good thing, but for the moment, I'm on the fence.

Ah, yeah that part of your post hadn't popped up when I'd replied. True, the MK characters names aren't especially creative, but would Jax fit in if his name were "Strong guy"? Or Scorpion's code name were "Spear-Chucker"? or "Scorpion man"?

I don't think MK-fying the more colorful DC characters would be enough to change my mind, since my problem with this title isn't exactly the presence of the DC characters.

It's not abad idea. I think they should keep their standard outfits from the comics and they could design some MK like outfits for them as alternate costumes.

And Mortal Kombat isn't? Friendship? Babality? Cartoon Blood? The over-the-top way people are killed? Tight, colorful, outfits? If anything, MK is more cartoonish than DC or Marvel.

Babalities & Friendships were introduced in MK II, quite possiblty the darkest MK of them all.They were also dropped after MK 3. It was a gimmick, it certainly wasn't supposed to be canon to the series. What? Scorpion pulls out a ninja doll instead of killing Subzero? .

Barring MK3's spandex-fest, the majority of the characters didn't really wear superhero outfits. I defy anyone to point out anyone that looks like Superman in the MK franshise. Yeah, the guys wear gothy/spiky torn and tattered tight clothing, but really, do you see The Bat man Superman, or the Flash in the MK Universe?

Don't get me wrong. I love comics. I'm writing and cartooning a couple of graphic novels (a lot better than the pic in my sig). I love Batman, but I'd just alter the costumes ever so slightly to fit i with the MK crowd.

I'd rather see Superman uppercut someone into mid-air, fly up, grab him, and launch him onto the floor causing a cool shock-wave... then another shitty uncreative/unoriginal blood-fest fatality that would be the same crap we've seen the last 3 (2 1/2 counting Armageddon?) MK games and wouldn't fit the DC universe at all.

To hell with that, give me something new, something unique, something creative. DC should definitely be able to help Boon get some great ideas in for finishers.

I think that they could just give them darker colours. For example instead of this cartoonish strong red, The Flash could have....you know a dark red costume. The same with Superman, they could give him his dark blue costume.

For Batman...they could give him the Batman Begins costme. The choices are many, it depends on them to make that a great game!! It has pottential no doubt about it, and if they can come up with a good storyline it could turn out to be a great MK game!!!
