Look, why do people have to make such blanket statements regarding the Marvel vs. DC issue. Especially when the points brought up are as broad as "Marvel kills people and DC doesn't." That's just plain not true, and is ridiculous to use in an argument. It depends on which series and character within each universe you are comparing. Anyone would think that Marvel and DC comprised of one man on each side writing everything.

If I had to choose between MK vs. DC and MK vs. Marvel, I'd go with MK vs. Marvel, just because a lot of the MK characters seem to be based off properties of Marvel. I mean, just think of some of the match-ups.

Liu Kang vs. Spider-Man (based on being some of the more front-most heroes in their own universe)
Raiden vs. Thor
Goro vs. The Hulk
Kano vs. Cyclops
Sonya vs. Captain America (just the patriotic thing)
Jax vs. Colossus
Sub-Zero vs. Iceman
Scorpion vs. Ghost Rider
Shang Tsung vs. Dr. Strange
Shao Kahn vs. Apocalypse
Kintaro vs. Juggernaut
Kitana vs. Psylocke
Mileena vs. Elektra

Yes, that's 48 characters, way too many. But it goes to show that the universes could match up really well.

This is pretty much how it was for me. Even at their worst, I don't believe that DC has been anywhere near as terrible as Marvel has been for the past two decades. When the Brand New Day storyline start up for Spider-Man, I quit caring about Marvel - stupidest goddamned storyline they could've thought up. And what's worse? Their fans ate it up. You can't complain or express a negative opinion about it on comic book forums without the Zombies coming out and shitting all over you for it.

So no, I'd rather stick with DC. Fuck Marvel.
