8 years after diablo 2. hopefully it won't take as long to make as duke nukem forever. they're not making it a WoW style game this time are they? i hope they keep it true to the last two.

Well, it's not going to be exactly like WoW, there are similarities, but they are to make things a lot smoother and better. You know how you always had to re-open your spell list and picked the kind of spells to use... and you could only choose two? Well, they have it to where there's going to be hotkeys where you only press a number of buttons to perform your spells instead of going through lists during battles to find another way to kill your enemies.

As someone asked too, they hope that the Necromancer returns, I would be happy to see this class come back. They are like Warlocks in WoW, so powerful, so useful, so damn cheap. I hope that the Sorceress and the Amazon makes a return as well, seeing how they were the only classes I managed to defeat Diablo 2 (not Lord of Destruction) with.

Not to mention that the weapon systems will be a lot different too. Apparently, they are going to make the weapons with enchanted things like "Lightning enhances" "Frost" "Fire." I know it was like that back in the other games, but this is a lot better Plus, for some reason when i saw the trailer, the entire trailer reminded me of God of War. How that is possible, I have no clue.

Plus, this Witchdoctor class seems very interesting. I cannot wait to see how they're like in the game.

I seriously cannoy wait until this game has more to show later on this year. It's one of the games I really wanted more sequels to be made. I understand that it's been a whole eight years since the last game, but it's just like Starcraft. Starcraft 3 is in the progress of being made as well, and seeing how Blizzard is more focused on WoW than any other game, I would be pissed if somehow Diablo or Starcraft gets cancelled. Seeing how they were supposedly making an adventure game for Starcraft called "Starcraft: Ghost" Somewhere back in 2002 or somewhere around that year and it got cancelled.

I really hope this games is truely awesome.

I've been grinning ear to ear all day because of this news! Diablo has always been one of my favorite games. And I'm so glad it's not a damn MMO! As for classes, I also thought of the necromancer first thing but I really doubt it. Watch the gameplay video and the Witch Doctor is pretty much the same thing. Poison and summoning. There's to be 5 classes, two of which are the Doctor and the Barbarian. But this time you can choose the sex, so I'm thinking Amazon's will be gone too. But they'll have something similar I'm sure, and if not wait for the expansions. Which hopefully they'll have more than one. I personally want to see all 3 brothers return, not just Diablo.

I doubt the Necromancer will return. Now that we have the Witch Doctor, he isn't really needed. Almost all of his spells have been adapted to fit the new character. His bone wall is now the zombie wall, his summon skeleton now summons ravagers, even his mastery of poison has been replaced with things like the plague that the Witch Doctor uses. The Lagcromancer was a good class, but with the Witch Doctor, he isn't needed any more.

as long as it's based around WoW's entire scheme i'll be happy. i'm one of the four retards that thinks WoW is the most overrated game in history. but blizzard doesn't disappoint. thanks for the update icebaby. from what you said it sounds pretty damn good.

There is a difference between the two. Witchdoctors focus mostly on disease and fire while the Necromancer deals with poison and disease. Not that big of a difference, but between the characters, there are. Yeah the wtichdoctor is an awesome class, but like MK vs. DC, it's way too early to judge who might be in the game seeing how we only have two classes confirmed so far. And the best thing about this game is that you can now be a different gender to the classes which makes me love this game even more.

I hope to see majority of the classes return.

The best thing about Blizzard is that they always keep you updated. They don't have it to where "Ah it's going to be a while for us to let you know what's going on with this game." I mean yeaht it will take some time, but they don't lag with updates. They just have it out ready for us to read really quick. They did it with WoW, they did it with Starcraft, and they're going to do it with Diablo.

Yeah...

But now, people on WoW are claiming that just because the original creators of this game have left, they're making a big scene that the people who made WoW are changing Diablo into the same game. It's not WoW. Diablo and WoW are two very different games.

Here's how they're saying it's gonna be a WoW 2:

Barabarians use a Rage meter instead of Mana (Like Warriors do in WoW)

The Hot Keys (Where you just press a certain button on the keyboard to perform the move you have it set to)

The inventory system has been changed

And that's all I could remember what they said. But... this game is nowhere near being a clone of WoW even if there are similarities. The gameplay trailer I saw showed me similarities, but the simialarites from that game are put to good use. I'm tired of pressing "S" on my keyboard, pick a move then kill, pick another move and kill... that takes too long of time to do. So, hotkeys are especially good for this game. Whether or not it's the same system they use on WoW.

8 years since the last game? wow shit...no wonder Diablo fans are creaming themselves, I would be too if I were a fan.

Good news for Diablo Fans, I never really got into the series that much.

What's it about again?

Not sure how big of fans you guys are with the Diablo series, but I sure am. I am excited about the classes that we have excluding the Barbarian. I would like to know what your thoughts are about the new classes.

Another thing that I appreciate is that you can play either as the male version or female for that class.

The Witchdoctor

I really feel that this class is going to be the most over-played class just because of the moves that this guy can produce. A wall of Zombies was the first thing that struck an interest for me and it's got my attention to play this class... possibly second. The Locust Swarm is another move that's interesting because it's a projectile that moves throughout the swarm of enemies attacking you, so it's not just focusing one one enemy. Confusion and Horrify are clearly moves taken from the Necromancer, which I kind of enjoy the fact that they really didn't abandoned that class in general... But it would have been nice to see that class return.

The tree builds for this character are ZOMBIE, VOODOO, SPIRIT.

Zombie would be focusing on the minions and summoning abilities
Spirit would be focusing on augmenting the Witch Doctor's own abilities
Voodoo will focus more on the offensive aspects

So that's what to expect with the Witchdoctor.

The Wizard

First thing is first, everyone does understand that the Wizard is a word used derogatory for rogue sorcerer? Okay. The first move that I feel like commenting is Slow Time ability. The Wizard creates a bubble-like shield around them and any projectiles that fly right in there literally has the movement reduced by a lot, so it's a lot easier to avoid projectiles coming after you, which will probably do you wonders when you're on a harder difficulty as well as fighting off a big cast of enemies. Even though the Wizard is not a sorceress, she/he does have basically the same moves such as the electrocute and the teleport. They also don't use mana, instead it's instability. They didn't quite feel that mana would make sense for a wizard so they changed it to this instead. I'm not sure if it's been discussed as of lately. But every class except for the Witchdoctor would not be using mana.

ARCANE, STORM, CONJURING

Arcane is basically going to deal with powers that don't associate with elements
Storm is dealing with electrical and blizzard moves as well as the armor protection
Conjuring summons protection or offense from other planes of existence

Demon Hunter

Well, nothing too much can be said as this class was JUST introduced to us not too long ago. All I can say is that I'm predicting that this character will somehow act like the assassin with all the weapons that she/he is booked with, including the awesome trailer that she's featured in, that was awesome. I'm going to expect a lot out of this character as I did with the assassin, such as laying traps, close combat in certain aspects and throwing weapons. I'd go personal but unfortunately not too much is known about this character.

Monk

The Monk will be like the assassin and the paladin. Hand-to-hand combat as well as casting auras. Me personally I don't think I would be enjoying too much with this character because I really didn't like the paladin character Diablo 2 had, so I don't know, things will obviously change once I get to see the Monk better. The moves that are featured on the site are pretty cool, especially the Seven-sided stroke move. It's all about combat and auras to deal with for the Monk character. So, here's the trees:

COMBAT
DEBUFFING
HOLY

Combat is obviously dealing with the hand-to-hand moves
Debuffing is going to make your enemies weaker, with a move called "The Exploding Palm"
Holy will most likely deal with your defense moves and auras possibly.

So these are the cast. I'm not going to talk about the Barbarian because that class is not new and I just wanted to talk about the new classes not the old ones. Thoughts?

I gotta agree with you that I can already predict The Witchdoctor being the most overused class in the game. That being said I'm still gonna play as him because he just looks too fucking awesome. I also am leaning towards the demon hunter as well. Hope we get some new info on them soon.

i'm really excited about this game and have been waiting for it for a long time. i still play diablo 2 exp to this day.

i will create 10 characters or more. male and female of each class. the character that i will play the most is the witchdoctor and focus more on summoning then any other tree.

i like that the blacksmith can level up and change into a huge stall. also i'm excited about now having the option to socket any item. unlike diablo 2 exp you could only get an add socket if you completed a certain quest in the arreat summit.

also like if you put a rune into a power for example it alters it entirly.
it's good that we aren't going to be spending loads of time inside areas and there's more outside levels.

i'm thinking that the demon hunter male character will appear on diablo 3's site in a few months since we have already seen the female version of that class.

Ok everyone, I know we have plenty of Diablo players in here. Blizzard has just released its launch day prep guide to prepare everyone for their respective midnight releases. In order to play Diablo 3, you must first have an offical Battle Tag. A new and more private system used to identify players in place of real ID. To get an early battle tag, log into battle.net and it should be on the left panel of your profile.

If you plan on playing and want to list your battletag here so other MKO people can play with you. feel free to do so.

Global play has been announced. you may play on any region server after midnight PDT for those of you non americans who want to play with the rest of us. please note global players are not allowed to use the real money auction house.

My battle tag is: FlamingTP#1852

6 Days to go, plenty of content is being rolled out by blizzard on a daily basis. including the Youtube animated short.

4 players to a game, perhaps we can get a couple of groups going.
