I love the Finnish Metal scene, with great bands like Children of Bodom, Imperanon, Mors Principium Est, Insomnium, and Norther all coming out of Finland. Sweden has a kickass metal scene too, with bands like Sonic Syndicate, Scar Symmetry, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, Bloodbath, Opeth, and Hypocrisy. Some of these bands never even come to the States, so if I want to see them in concert, I'd have to go to either Finland or Sweden.

I'll tell you; listen to For the Imperium - California Girl. You can't find it from YouTube for some odd reason because the band is all-new but I am sure that you'll enjoy it. Do you remember Apocalyptica that recently concerted with Metallica? It's pretty rad, as well as Amorphis is. I'd like to provide you with some other Finnish metal too, and you should consider some Swedish and Danish bands like D-A-D as well. The best way to find out the most of the Nordic metal would be just to listen to some local radio channel by web stream or read the latest Nordic metal charts.

Dead By April is a kickass Swedish band. They do a good job of combining Metalcore (Killswitch Engage and All That Remains) with Melodic Death Metal (In Flames and Dark Tranquillity) and sounds heavy yet catchy at the same time. I've been loving them. I'm always open to new band suggestions, especially from Finland and Sweden, those countries rule at making great metal. Germany is pretty good at it too with bands like Neaera, Heaven Shall Burn, Deadlock, and Caliban. Those are my three favorite countries for metal, Sweden, Finland and Germany.

It's true that Sweden is pretty much equivalent to Finland in metal music industry. I have yet to listen to Dead By April more properly but I do have a couple of their songs in my playlist. Here is a radio channel that I listen to a lot, now you can do that too via web stream. Simply click "Kuuntele" from the upper bar to listen. Okay, maybe I should provide you with some more cool Finnish bands that I know of, then. Here is another underground band that has been created a few years ago: Blake.
