Gamespot just posted an article about Bill Gates's keynote at CES. Of special mention there will be an HD-DVD add-on released for the Xbox 360 within the next year. So anyone saying the 360 suffers from a lack of storage space on the disk drive, shouldn't really worry.
Also of mention is that Street Fighter 2 will be released threw the Xbox Live Arcade sometime later this year. Maybe we can get our hopes up for MK1 or 2 to show up as well. Games that have been showing up on the Xbox Live Arcade have also had online support. Juist look at gauntlet.

This is all the information that he told me yesterday, I'll try to remember it all.
-The PS3 WILL be released this year, and it will be $400.
-It will come in three colors, blue, silver, and black.
-It has 7 wireless controller ports.
-Right now the launch titles that he knows of are Metal Gear Solid 4, and Killzone 2. There will be more he said, but that's all for now.
-It is costing them about $800 to make each system.
-The blue ray disc reader IS in it.
-A second God of War is being made (for all of you fellow God of War fans).
-He said that PS3 will be 5x more powerful then Xbox360 and 10x more powerful than the Revolution.
-He said that PS3 will have it's own online service, like Xbox live, and it is built off of Xbox Live.
-He still isn't sure whether or not you will be able to play used games, being that the games may only play on the original system it plays in. He said he e-mailed his boss, but the guy hasn't gotten back to him yet.
And that's all I can think of that he said right now. If anything else comes along, you will be the first to know.

Even though I know the PS3 will be at least 5 times more powerful than the 360, which will be left in the dust, but today I went to gamestop, and the lady there assured me that it will cost at the very least 500$s, if not more....
you see high graphics quality does come with a price.

That's all fine and dandy, but when someone who works for Sony, tells me that it's going to be $400, I think I'll believe him. Believing him seems like a good bet. Oh yeah, and Sony stated in an interview that they refuse to sell their next generation products more than $500, so it can't be more than that. But as I said, considering someone who works for Sony, said that his boss told him it would be $400, I'll take his word for it, for now.

Ussually those reps your talking about ussually ain't any different than the same poeple who work for customer support. They ussually don't know their ass from their elbow. They just say what their told to say. Thier not the definitive when it comes to the info. Yeah the system will cost $400. If the price was already locked at $400 Sony would have made it offcial already, it's not final. Anything that is said short of an official press conference, or press release is just hype by the company to try and generate interest for the system.

Alright I'll take you at you're word. Im happy to hear that it will come at a lower cost. I have 300$s saves in a savings account, so I need 100$s + tax money

Well the rep Who spoke to you doesn't know much,
first off Sony already have said that PS3 WILL be able to play used games, that was a roumour that was started when a patent was filed from Sony refering to new copy protection they are working on.
Second : God of war is not in production, Davaid jaffe is working on a PSP game you can check yourself by reading his blog he's posting vids of the production process, so there is no God Of War until that's compleate unless it's being made without him but i doubt that very much.
third: the only Launch titles that have been confirmed so far are Lair, Warhawk, and maybe Unreal 2007 Sony say it's a launch title but Epic are saying maybe depending on if they feel it's ready to be released in time, MGS4 Will not be a launch title Hideo Kojima has only just started on production, you can go check his blog also for confirmation, as for killzone again that hasn't been confirmed one way or another.

Acording to an article over at Gamespot, Micrsoft's Marketing Director Peter Moore told a Japanese site/magazine that should they choose to they could be a possablity for a Blue-Ray Disk drive attachment released for the Xbox 360, if HD-DVD flops in the war against Blue-Ray. He said that they have the option to support it externally if they want to, unlike the PS3 which has it built in, and can only support Blue-Ray, if Blue-Ray flops theirs no way for the PS3 to support an HD-DVD drive even externally (according to Moore at least).

There is an article over at Gamestop where one of the writers for the site decided to poll game industry insiders, and developers at CES about what they THINK the PS3 price will be. Seeing as how the first stand alone Blue-Ray disk player was unveiled at CES at a price point of $1,000+. The price ranged from $400-$700. And while it's still all speculation, I find it interesting that the article mentions specifically that just about every game developer asked thinks the PS3 will launch at $500. Seeing as how game developers seem to have to best inside info on something like this. Again this is only speculation.
But take into account that the first stand alone Blue-ray disk players are going to be selling for $1000+. The PS3 will also have the Cell Processor in it, and be more like a PC. So I honestly don't think that the estemated $500-$700 price point on the PS3 would be far fetched if not more. Just how much is Sony really going to be willing to take a hit on with the PS3 just to get Blue-Ray technology into the market? [edit]: Not to mention how easily the PSX, and PS2 broke for some people because of cheap parts Sony used to keep costs down on the system.

Accurate info about the PS3
According to gameSHOUT, they have put out a press release assuring everyone that they have personally been contacted by Sony and that the PS3 will endeed by launched by MAY.
The sad thing is, they forget to inform us on what continent of this freaken planet it will debut. Is it US first or Japan?? What about Europe?? They forget to talk about that.

It's going to be Japan first like it always is, and look forward to a Fall/Holiday released here in the states. As for Europe it all depends weather Sony decideds to resease the US, and Europe at the same time. I honestly doubt it though, as ussualy. Europe will probably be early 2007 to make sure there aren't any strain on the supply. Sony will not release the sysem in all 3 regions at the same time, never have never will. The same can be said for 2 regions.

lol Moore doesn't know much, Of course the PS3 will be able to support an External HD-DVD drive all it would need is an USb port just as an external one for the PC would, what planet does Moore live on, how the hell does he think his own external HD-DVD drive or a blu-ray drive would connect to the 360 by magic fairy dust.

I just came across an article over at IGN, that may shed some light on Nintendo's download service for the Revelution. The article can be read here: Revelution Vitual Console. According to IGN a survey website was hired by Nintendo to conduct a questionier with mock-up of how Nintendo's Virtual Console would work. Essentially it's the download service Nintendo was talking about for past system on the Revolution that will let users buy and download NES, SNES, and N64 games. The service would work on a point system essentially similar to Microsoft's 360 Xbox Live point system. Some rough number that where thrown out where a first $14.99 a month rental service that would let you rent any NES game for a whole month (kindo of reminds of the Sega Cahnnel). To purchase a game it ranged from $2.99 for NES games, and $19.99 for N64 games. Gamecube game will not be downloadable threw the service, but is backwards compatable with the system itself. Also what's interesting is a partial list of possable games availabe threw the services. Of special note Killer Instict is listed for the SNES!

How do you know it will be in Japan first??? With all due respect, Sony announced that it may go ahead and do a simultaneous release, or even an America (or I should say North America) first release.
The fact is you don't know, and frankly I don't know either...

Here is a story about the Revolution's backwards compatability. It is not a story, but the results of a survey regarding older games.

New information on the PS3!!!
The system will most likely debut at $399, making it more bang for you're buck. Selling a system at about $600 to $700 is retail suicide seeing that the x-box 360 will be a sub $300 system.
That is according to PSM.
Also, expect a wi-fi system one way or another. Rather then a general expensive wifi, it could be configured so you can connect a wi-fi at you're home.
Well, that's what my sources are telling me. And that is coming from PSM.
Stay tuned
