At Fighters Generation they have an article for character rotations. Just thought I'd give you guys the heads up. So chances are you will be able to play every character but you may have to wait several months in order to play as Spinal for example. Unless you pay the bills.
Wonder if it will be similar to Archeblade where there's several character rotations to keep the game a bit more fresh and fun.

Sounds closer to what League of Legends does with its champions. They'll rotate out the trial characters so people will eventually get a chance to play them without paying for them.

*Has to wait over 2 years to play full cast for free*
You know who I'm really curious to see? T.J Combo. If he's back to wearing that training bra again I'd be furious. But I'm really curious how they'll handle his design.

I'm confident the midriff fad died out long ago lol. I wonder if this new character means cinder won't be returning for season 1, he's the one I imagined being an aerial type and since they're looking to make the cast unique in playstyle I can't see them repeating in the first 8.

Maxi Has posted a new video, detailing the changes in the latest build of the game: KI latest Build changes.
Of note Glacius's character model has gone through some changes. He's actually more transparent and bony than his previous model.
[edit]: Also if you don't finish a combo, now the defending player has an opportunity to regenerate that damage.

I like the more transparent look honestly. I think it adds more to the character than being a blue version of the T-1000 from the older games. And when the game comes out, you can still have that look if you want, but I find this one much more interesting.
The stage scaling is a nice addition. The potential damage recharge certainly reminds me of a lot of the current gen games. We'll see how that comes into play once people have more time with the game, I don't think something like that was in the original two.

I think its a good thing. it forces players to actually learn the system rather than just button mash. Sure you could button mash, but if you don't end a combo properly with a finisher, then the player has the chance to regain all the damage that was done to him.
It was also stated before that you need to use finishers to end a combo to even get high amounts of damage. You could do a high hit (30 hit combo), but if you don't use a finisher you'd only get like 12% damage, versus say 45%+ damage if you actually finished the combo with an ender.
The gameplay has been sped up and they are fine tuning the mechanics for less combo breakers. While they didn't touch on it much in the video, it sounded like the lock-out time has increased.

How many new characters do you guys want. I'd like to see 3-5 new characters in the series. Killer Instinct never had a big roster so I'd like more variety.
Any specific type of character you'd want.
For example a samurai etc.

I can't wait to see more of her. She looks really intriguing. I'm curious as to what her play style will be.
Also not sure if this has been posted yet, but: Gamplay KI Fridays #2 - August 24 Thunder Edition
[edit]: Watching the video a bit, and and i got to thinking...I'm going to pose this question about the game...I'm wondering if its possible to do an infinite Ultra? I'm noticing you can build meter while doing match ending Ultras.
[2nd edit]: Killer Instinct Central has posted an interview with Maximilion: Maximilian interview, since he's pretty much been the face of a kind bridge between the community and developers.
Nothing entirely new about the game except that the game will use "rollback netcode" for online play. Not sure if it will use GGPO or if its propriety technology MS/DH has developed for the game. Anyone not familiar with what "rollback netcode" is, it basically puts any lag ahead of any input to mask latency in online matches.

The official forum goes nuts about an obscure article about the game being only 720p and not the promised 1080p.
What do you guys think? Should it be believed?

Sounds like the game is upscaling. I personally don't care as long as it runs properly. Secondly I don't own a 1080p tv even.
I just don't see the big deal. Most current gen games don't run natively at 1080p, this is a launch game that has been in development for less than a year, I'm also sure it could be a patched after launch if its such a big deal to everyone.
I'd also like to know if it was ever stated by DH that the game would be 1080p, 60 fps? All they ever said was that the game would run 60 fps. MS even said themselves that they are not pushing developers to make 1080p native standard for all games, its up to the developers.

I'd be more upset about the fact that it's launching with 6 characters because MS is rushing the launch of this game.

I really just care more about whether or not the frame rate is going to maintain a solid 60.
Side note, here's the IE Battleground twitch stream of KI from last weekend. A whole hour and a half of KI footage. IE Twitch Archive

I picked up a Gameboy Advance yesterday and with it, I got Killer Instinct for the original Gameboy for a total of $25. From what I've seen, I really like it. It's definitely different than the main eries on the SNES and N64, as it lacking in gameplay and characteers (2 attack buttons with SSB-like directional hits, and missing characters like Cinder.) With this, I have my views on Killer Instinct as a series, now that I have played an actual game, albeit I'm no expert.
My prefered character is Glacius. He seems one of the "noob characters", like Ike in SSBB and Hulk in MvC, along side Spinal and possibly Orchid. My secondary is Thunder, or as his full name is said, Chief Thunder. I like his combos and really everything about him but his specials. It's a fun game, and I'm sure it's better on consoles.
With this said, I look toward KI3 with little hope. I see that they're definetely looking to take a more tournament-based model, with changing movesets to add in more grapple heavy characters, jugglers, combo-killers, and the works. With this, that is the only truly redeeming quality. Like everyone, my biggest gripe is what you're getting for what you pay. Only 6 characters, an extra 2 early, for a full 60? Yes, it does include a CD and the original KI, but KI1 won't have online for probably 5-6 months, and characters have to be downloaded for God knows how much later on. Microsoft is pushing for thhis to be a launch title, wherso that if it wasn't, the game would be of so much higher quality. If it wasn;t being ruushed, it would be a great reason to pick up an X-Box One. And with XB1 removing all of it's crap like region locks, shitty DRM, and having 8 players to a system, with quite a lineup of upcoming games, it is not a bad game. They're relying too much on KI being a launch title when that's not going to let the game prosper.

The game is only $40 (technically $20 if you don't want any skins or the Ki1 port) and I haven't even seen any mention of a soundtrack yet.
Here is a breakdown of the gameplay mechanics for KI3: Killer Instict basic mechanics
Also move lists:
Jago
Saberwolf
Glacius>
Thunder
From everything I've read, it seems very similar to KI2 mechanics, but with more freedom. Auto-doubles can be any strength and the new Instinct meter reminds me of the character specific button in Injustice.

Wasn't there a deal of $60 that inluded;
- The full game with the 6 characters
- Early access to 2 DLC characters
- An arcade-perfect port of the original KI, without internet momentarily.
- A copy of the Killer Kuts Soundtrack.

Nope. The only deals for the game that I know of are:
Demo (Jago only and 3 game modes: MP, training and challenges) - free
DLC characters - $5 each
$20 - all 8 characters (6 at launch, 2 released sometime Feb./March 2014)
$40 deal - $20 deal + retro/classic skins and a KI port
I haven't heard of any $60 deal. I know I've said previously that it would have made more sense to push the game back 6-8 months and give that kind of content as part of a retail package and a pre-order incentive, but currently there is no deal for game that includes that kind of content that I'm aware of.

I hate to double post, but some relevant info. Microsoft will be doing road shows leading up to the Xbox One launch. Xbox One - Road show It will actually kick off next week on the east coast. Thursday Sept. 19 in Burlington, MA and Friday Sept. 20 in Boston, MA. Both events will be from 7:30-9:00 pm.
Killer Instinct will be on hand for both events.
Both events are close to where I am (particularly the Burlington, MA event), so I'm hoping to make it and try the game out. I'll post my impression if/when I do, but I know there are a few others on this site who are from MA and might want to check these events out, if you have any interest.

All I have to say is they better show an in depth look at Sadira and her gameplay, backstory, etc.

I have a feeling that we're getting Sadira and TJ Combo!
