I wish for season 2 the new characters....

- A vampire character to rival Sabrewulf
- A new female in a combo like Kitana, Psylocke & Rose
- A Voldo type character
- A scorpion ninja like Scorpion (both from MK & Marvel), Kabal & Bane
- A Bruce Lee-type character
- A aztec mask wearing luchadore
- A steampunk cowboy
- A ghoul-type clown
- A water-using merman from Atlantis
- An earth-type character
- A muay thai fighter like Tony Jaa
- A pharaonic mummy to rival Spinal
- Tag-team twins with light & dark powers.

I'll say we'll get six returning characters and four new characters!

Returning:
1. Riptor
2. TJ Combo
3. Cinder
4. Kim Wu
5. Maya
6. Tusk

Here are four new characters that I'd like to see:
7. Shango - He's a voodoo witch doctor, ability to raise the dead and make them his slaves.

8. Kesi - She's an Egyptian warrior and demi-god for she is the love child of Anubis, she controls the shadows and the night!

9. Kokushi Muta - Muta is formerly one of the finest samurai warriors in all of Japan but after Gargos killed his family and clan. Muta now seeks vengeance against Gargos for the death of his family.

10. Trinity - Undisciplined and dangerous, Trinity is a mercenary for hire. From weapons dealing to cold-blooded murder, her military training has made her the go-to woman for Ultratech, her main objective is to eliminate Orchid.

I like the Voldo type character idea.

Cinder, Riptor, and TJ Combo are guaranteed to come back. No doubt about it. No idea about who the new characters will be. Hopefully interesting.

They could surely use a vampire & a ninja.

Vampire - a female dhampir. Half breed of human & vampire. She learns to control the vampirism in her while dealing with Saberwulf who seeks a cure for his lycanthropy. (Designed as like Alucard from Castlevania: LoS & Selene from Underworld. Can create weapons from her own blood and can feed on opponent's blood to regain health.)

Ninja - a warrior from a former ninja clan. Ultratech revived his body with scorpion venom as one of their enforcers. Wields a kusarigama wielding a scorpion-based stinger on the chain that can inject various poisons/toxins.

They can surely get a true antagonist. A chairman or CEO of Ultratech?

What for? They already have Jago.

Jago is a monk. Not a ninja.

If I don't like it than how would make a character that uses poisons/toxins/venom?

Technically he is ninja archetype with somewhat shotoclone moveset.
The fact that he is a monk comes only in his storyline.

Then what characters do you all have in mind for the new KI? I know a vampire & mummy would be needed.

In the past, KI used to pull from pop culture. What were cool back in the early/mid 90's? Well, dinosaurs (thanks to Jurassic Park), shoto characters for fighting games, Mike Tyson, Terminator 2 (sure, Glacius was ice, but he definitely had some T-1000 type moves), the list goes on.

So I'd probably look to what's in pop culture right now that would fit KI's style.

-Vampire or vampire hunter: Others have said this, and given the character types in this game, I think it makes sense. I'm guessing this character won't be of the twilight variety.

-Wizard's/sorcerers: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter etc. Not that the character would have to be of the white bearded sage like variety (though I wouldn't mind that at all), but someone that has arcane powers could be cool and could easily be shoe-horned in to world where Ultratech has created all sorts of character possibilities.

- Zombie: I've got major league zombie fatigue, but they're still very popular thanks to The Walking Dead and ton of movies. Honestly, if done right, this could be really cool. Sort of like a drunken kung fu character.

- Voodoo Priest(ess): Others have mentioned this as well. Movies have dealt with this a little bit (Calypso in the Pirates movies jumps to mind) and this archetype definitely has potential so long as it's handled well.

-Witch/Warlock: A little less pagan and a little more Macbeth, a witch character could have some awesome powers and be really fun to use. I feel like half of the shows on the CW either have witches in them or that's the theme of the show or whatever. Not that this is a selling point for me, I'm just saying that they have a place in pop culture right now.

I'd say that the key here too would be fitting any archetypes in to the style and story possibilities of Killer Instinct. Seeing the wicked witch flying around on a broom would look odd in KI, but if she looked more like Sadira, for example, it'd work. Just as I wouldn't want to see an 19th century suit on an old-timey Dracula since it's not the late 1800's in KI's world.

Sure, Maya, Tusk and Kim Wu will be coming back from the past, but they'll probably be sucked through the same plot point. No sense in stretching it any more than it needs to go.

Either way, I think that they have a ton of options out there, pop culture or not. I'll be really curious to see what Iron Galaxy can do!

Too bad they don't have a "Bruce Lee" in this one, unless Jago is one too.

They don't have any wrestlers either.

Final large Double Helix patch is now live!! The arcade mode is nice, though I have no idea how to fight the real final boss (who I've read is Shadow Jago). It's nice that the cinemas save, especially considering his freakin fast the sentences go. Multiple endings per character confirmed (if you didn't know). So far I have Orchid 1 and Sabrewulf 3. Good stuff, even if it's only slightly animated pics. According to DH, one ending for each character I'd canon. My guess is ending 1's. Who the eff is ARIA??

Oh yeah, and Fulgore is fun. As. Hell. Dude is awesome!! Totally worth the wait. I honestly think that DH got better at character gameplay design as they went along. Sabrewulf and Thunder seem slightly dull when compared to all the flash that Orchid, Spinal and Fulgore have. Maybe Iron Galaxy might tough them up a little? According to MS, KI will be at E3, so hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see what the new team has up their sleeves!

Apparently to fight shadow jago you need to unlock all 3 endings for a particular character, then clear arcade mode on medium difficulty without using a continue with that character.

Also beating shadow jago will unlock the shadow tiger lair stage. You can't buy it in the KI store like the other stages.

I think this final update was great. A lot of throwback references to how fighting games used to be, with secret bosses an an alternate way of unlocking items, through arcade mode.

I also like the fact they included a gallery in the archive section to view unlocked endings, so you don't have to beat the game every time you want to view it.

I'm finding fulgore really hard to play effectively, although he is fun to play as. I think it has more to do with his move commands not seeming logical to me. I get the feeling a lot of his commands feel like the inputs are reversed.

I knew they would be there from the start. DH kept saying if they had time they'd put them in. Guarantee they'll be a part of the 2nd Season Pass or whatever you want to call it. 2nd half of the game really.

- Fulgore, Arcade Mode Go Live With Killer Instinct Update

Late last month Microsoft announced that Fulgore and an arcade mode would be coming to Killer Instinct in April. Today, you can grab the sizeable title update.

This 6.8 GB add-on includes the cyborg fighter Fulgure, eight-player lobbies, arcade mode, and the ability to spectate matches. This is the last batch of content created by Double Helix, which was recently purchased by Amazon to work on games for its new Fire TV device. DiveKick developer Iron Galaxy is taking over development duties from here out.

If anybody isn't up to speed, I'm sure you soon will be.

Out of all the redesigns, Fulgore does indeed look the best. He's a prime example of how to update something without changing the essence of the character. If someone showed me one of Glacius' design in an alt color in 2012, I wouldn't have known it was a Glacius, much less a KI character (ironically, I use his primary almost exclusively; reason listed below). If you showed me Fulgore's redesign, I wouldn't even need a moment to think about it. THAT'S Fulgore!

I haven't seen all the endings, but I like that many characters who were morally ambiguous before are now distinctly good/evil. The endings are definitely underwhelming, but my expectations weren't that high to begin with. They did their best with the time they had.

Now for the negative. Most of the classic costumes look really bad. Spinal looks okay I guess, but it would take an Einstein-level I.Q. to fuck that design up. Why is Glacius' neck huge as hell? Why does Sabrewulf look like a rat? Did anyone really like Orchid's KI1 outfit over the KI2 outfit? Fulgore looks like he's made out of freakin' plastic.

My only hope is that Iron Galaxy adds KI1 Glacius and KI2 Orchid. If I haven't said it already in this thread, Iron Galaxy is the best thing to happen to KI.

*in a German accent*

Since the little kiddie vinkies was able to play the game as well, they would've ran into seeing that design & you would be hearing about it in the morning news, because let's face it, middle-aged soccer moms can be very very vocal.

/horrible attempt at humor.

Anyways, I hope for either a PS4 release &/or PC.

Yeah, that's definitely the consensus. If it wasn't a free-to-play game, they may have been more bold, but they probably wanted to go the safe route until the game sold more.

Thing is, I wasn't much older than a kiddie when I started playing KI, and I was all about Orchid's KI2 costume back then.

- New Character ARIA Teased in Killer Instinct’s Secret Ending [SPOILERS?]
- Secret Ending - Killer Instinct [YouTube]

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
"The first of these clues to be found comes courtesy of the title’s secret ending, which features a mysterious entity named ARIA that appears to be connected to Ultratech, the megacorporation that plays a major role in the franchise’s story. The character’s menacing tone and apparent allegiances definitely leads us to believe they will factor into season two’s content, though in what capacity remains to be seen."

Considering Microsoft owns the Killer Instinct IP, you're probably not going to see it on a Playstation console.

The thing that bothers me the most about Classic Sabrewulf (besides the goldfish eyes) is the fact that he's wearing a belt with no pants. WHY? Sabrewulf didn't have a belt in the first KI, and in KI2 he had torn pants with no shirt.

It just makes no fucking sense.

I hate to say it, but the retro costumes in general are probably the worst part about the game. Most of them look terrible, some aren't even accurate one bit (Thunder). The only saving grace with them is some of the accessory sets are actually pretty nifty, like the Vontron jago reference.
