I missed these two posts in the chaos of googling pictures of Glacius.
They're small details, but it's how they come together. To me, the lack of other facial features accented the eyes that much more. I liked it.
I'm glad it's not just me, then. Granted, none of the changes make me cry "Blasphemy!" or anything; they all just seem kinda awry. Like when an autoshop replaces a part of your car and you notice the paint is a slightly different shade. None of these things are damning, but they look awkward.
Sabrewulf's head probably bothers me more than anything.
Because it's Razor. When it comes to MK, I actually agree with the vast majority of his posts.
I'm with you on Sabrewulf, but if you were to ask me what's wrong with it, it's really difficult to put my finger on it. He was blue before, but somehow it worked then. The longer snout is also really not working for me, but when it comes to judging art, it's hard to articulate the reasons because for the most part, I"m going off intuition here.

I know I feel kind of indifferent about it. The first time I saw the trailer I thought OMFG KILLER INSTINCT IS BACK!!! But then I let that sink in and re-watched it a few times, the gameplay looks like it could be solid but I agree wtf is up with the character designs??? They look NOTHING like they did before and not in a good way. With that being said though I would love to see Cinder and Riptor back and I'm sure they probably wont bring back the new KI2 characters (although Kim Wu was my best in KI2
) This makes me ALMOST want to get an Xbox but I'll wait and see.

Don't really care since I never played it but good for the people who wanted KI back since 2010 and before. A shame it's on the Xbrick uh I mean Xbone.
Designs look good? D-Dem combos? Idk
Even though I don't care about it I don't like how it's Xbox exclusive feels super weird to me...screws a bunch of fans too...same with Tekken: Revolution being a PS3 exclusive.

Sabrewulf was more of a silver blue iirc, this blue is a totally different shade, like I said it looks like something straight from avatar, his head doesn't help the fact, it just lacks that werewolf look. He looks more like human like wolf than he does a werewolf if that makes sense. I'd be cool with it if he had a little more to him but everything on him is blue even his claws.

Weird, because Best Buy has a retail package of the game listed for $60. Maybe they plan to also offer the game via peace meal as part of the trial version, if gamers don't want all the characters.

That is indeed odd... Not necessarily bad, but odd indeed...

Wow that is strange, so you buy the game digitally with only one character available and then pay per character? The thing that sucks is lets say you download the game, are you going to have to spend about an hour downloading the rest of the character selection one by one? I wonder if the initial download is super cheap because if you have to pay even $20 for a game with one character and lets say $5 per character you'll spend well over $60 and that's a ripoff.

Hopefully you will be able to buy the full game in one package.

There's a pre-order page for the game at Bestbuy.com, so that leads me to believe there will also be a standard retail version for those who want it.

I'm still digesting this whole free-to-play concept, but it's cool that consumers have a choice.

Had I not seen the KI logo, I would never have known, this was suppose to be a Killer Instinct game. That's sad too. Sabrewolf, looks like a werewolf from the Underworld movies. And Jago, oh lord. I know, I already commented on this, but I couldn't help myself from getting back to this topic.
The f2p concept, works for MMO's, but not for a fighting game.
I want this to end up being a great game, I really do. Most of us, who waited this long for KI3....this isn't KI3 btw, its a reboot or remake. But, for me personally. This isn't what I expected. I hope they rerelease the arcade versions of, KI 1 and 2 on xbla.

You judge the game at first glance. Perhaps you aren't impressed by the first impression, but to give up on it at its announcement is a bit overzealous in my opinion.
And please, inform us why this f2p concept won't work. To make a statement like that without giving an explanation just makes it opinionated. It is quite alright that you do not like it, but do not pass on your opinion as some sort of truth.

Looks nice. But it would've been better if it was in Netherrealm Studios' hands.

They didn't suck the details out. That complaint only really applies to his already nearly non-existent facial features, which as I said, serves to make his face look more icy.
Most of the rest of them are still there, as you pointed out, he's still got the same weird three-fingered ET hands from KI2, his arms still end in white while the rest of him is blue (although his chest is no longer white, but the spurs kinda make up for that), they even added details to the glassy blue main body, with those little circuit/veiny lines and his slightly sunken in abdomen/protruding ribs and pelvis, to give him a more alien physique.
And that's the key word, "alien". He's a lifeform from another planet, he's not even really made of ice, his flesh is just very much LIKE ice. He should look it. And he does now, while still evoking the look of old Glacius and doing a lot better job of it than half of MK's cast did in their reboot. They got "how you update an old design" right, like Shaolin Monks' art did. I really don't see a single thing to be mad about in this design. It's not like they put Sonya in the titty-vest or took a perfectly good Japanese ninja and made him an H.R. Giger reject just because his name is based on an arachnid.
Those are not rocks. They don't even look like rocks, I don't know why you keep saying "rocks". They're spikes or spurs of ice or bone. They're not stuck in him like he was slithering along the road and picked them up in his snow-skin, they're protruding outward from, I'm assuming he has a skeleton to support himself when he's not in puddle form. Speaking of which, the puddle concern is illogical, if they're part of his body and he's a shapeshifter, of course they'll melt too when he melts into a puddle.

Actually, I'm pretty sure his snout was longer before. It could be because he's growling and anger makes one's features scrunch up, but he looks slightly snub-nosed here compared to the original, who by the way, was a darker shade of blue (and had a patch of white on the top of his head)...but also had ridiculously cartoony proportions with a head almost the same size as his entire torso. And said head used to look more like a stuffed animal of a dog with a sad, cute face rather than a scary wolf. If anything, I'd say Sabrewulf has benefited from modernity.
Since I rather like the look of the new Jago as well, the only complaint anyone's had with the designs that I can honestly even see making sense is "Jago's sword isn't a lightsaber anymore", because it's always pissed me off a little that Kano uses regular knives instead of the laser ones he had in MK1 and 3. HOWEVER...Kano is an arms dealer who specializes in sci-fi tech and cybernetics. Jago is a warrior-monk who worships a villain pretending to be a tiger. Where the fuck would he even get a laser-sword from? The new one looks like a monk's sword, so I'm cool with it.

Get a load of this. Killer Instinct is going to be Free to Play, you only get to play as Jago for free, then with microtransactions you buy more characters. Way to fucking go Microsoft, way to go.
The only hope I have left is that double helix ports it over to PS4 but I know that's just wishful thinking.

Gameplay footage and first impression: Killer Instinct First Impression
After watching the first 5 mins of this, I'm not worried about the game one bit.
There is a full retail package of the game being released. If you buy the game digitally the final cost of everything will be the cost of a full game if you decide to buy the game peace meal.

I have got a LOT of questions for this game.
1) Will they have voice actors & actresses and cutscenes?
2) How many characters will we have? And it won't be just the old. We need more females! And males! Try a vampire than just Saberwulf, a werewolf!
3) What system will it have? And will they have it on playstation 4 as well?
4) Is this really a reboot? Or KI3?

Right now, it looks like mod for SSF4.
All this talk about SF4 being like KI1 and 2 is pointless. SF4 was rather different in its looks and physics from first KIs.
And new KI looks almost exactly like SF4. Even text "AWESOME" looks like it was taken from Capcom game.

When I think of Killer Instinct, the first things that come to mind are lengthy over the top combo and violence like MK. Which the game looks to have so far. It doesn't bother me that the developer is cherry picking the best aspects of other fighting games. If you watch the video I posted, I feel much more at easy that DH knows more about fighting games that we are giving them credit for.
My only concern at this point is should the game be free to play and done via peace meal. If so, I'm just concerned about how much content will be in the game. I find it hard to pay peace meal for a fighting game that has an average sized roster and stages and bare bone game modes.
