Doesn't change that MvsC3 is a great game (along with TvC). You still have MvsC2. You can always play that.

You can say TvC is a bad game... but, that by itself doesn't really make it true. Yeah, it's dead, but that's because it was a Wii fighting game with a virtually non-functional online mode. The combo system was still brilliant. To show that it was bad, you're going to need a reason beyond "it's not MvsC2."

'not mvc2?" more like not xmvssf, mvsf, mvc, mvc2, xcota, msh. The game bares little resemblance to its past predecessors. MvC would be a better comparison since it's a 2v2 and less team synergy, but even mvc is much better as bad as it was haha. Here is a small breakdown of tvc which marvel players hate:

-universal hitstun
-extremely high overhead priority
-no tech rolling
-sweeps to hyper combos that can't be avoided
-broken baroque system that has no damage scaling
-uninterruptable combo series even while blocking
-burst using meter

I guess if you like these mechanics, then that's cool. Most of these still exist in mvc3 btw. Edit: tvc being on wii is a very bad reason why it's dead, considering that the playable version of mvc2 is on dreamcast.

I'm so tempted to buy this game.

These 3 got me my 5 Ranked game win streak on my first try of going for it!

I was also in lobby room, joined a room where nobody could beat this guy who was spamming sentinel projectiles. I beat the shit out of him and went 5 wins, then lost to a great player, made my way up, took top spot again, won 5 more before losing, then hit my ranked streak.

I was so sure I was gonna master Chris, but I feel like hes just a piece of shit, more of a punishing character and one for more experienced players, Im new but im still doing good. Im no master though.

The alt costumes are AMAZING.

It's a mixed bag, but those are not damning criticisms. Calling a game "bad" means that at the core, it isn't competitive and has little to offer.


But the Dreamcast version also has ten years of community support beneath it, and unlike the Dreamcast, the Wii has shown a natural resilience to hardcore gamers. And let's face it: TvC was never going to be able to compete with SF4, which is literally a phenomenon. MvsC2 never had to compete with anything of that nature.

I love phoenix... but I hate how low her stamina is and I hate how to make her worth it I gotta save all my super!!! I wish they would release regular Jean Grey as a DLC, that has regular stamina and doesnt change into Dark Phoenix. She's really fun otherwise!

Dormammu is hella fun... but I'm surprised Super Skrull isnt... he's surprisingly bland IMO.

I'm pleasantly surprised by She Hulk! And using Red She Hulk makes it extra fun hahaha X-23 is actually also fun! I thought i'd never use them.

I'm really curious about the DLC characters... I'm sure Bison is one of them... and they said about 4... so 1 Marvel left... its probably Gambit, or some other character that previously appeared... like Cyclops or Psylocke. I wouldnt mind Betsy.... altho i'd really love someone original.. make it worth my money.

M.O.D.O.K., Sentinel, X-23, Amaterasu, Arthur, and Felicia are the six characters I've had the most fun playing with so far. I was never good at Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and the same holds true for part three. I just play with my friends who have already gotten very good at the game. I just button mash and keep setting off this thing where my name starts glowing red then it's like a bar that goes down, but no one will tell me what that means.

Phoenix is every bit as awesome as I had hoped she would be,
and Amaterasu is a pleasant surprise. She can *kill* the metal villains you fight before Galactus.

Ya know, I knew Ammy was going to be good, but I had no idea she was going to be so intuitive and straight forward. She's surprisingly not very execution heavy; she just has A LOT of options.

BTW, did anyone see Justin Wong's performance at the Wednesday Night Fights MvsC3 tournament? He wrecked the place, and he did it without Sentinel. Expect to see a lot of Wolverine players online over the next few months.

Well when I play online I will usually use my starting team for my first match in the lobby and use them until I lose. Then I will switch over to my 2nd team. Then my In comes my random team, of assorted idiots.

The Random team lineup I posted sounds like it would be horrible but it honestly and surprisingly seems to work out for me All the time when I pick them. Then again I have only had to choose them a few times since my 1st lineup seems to be very very amazing online.

The one thing I tend to get mad at in this game is the missions. *sigh* the stupid SFIV timing system is just bad

It's also really inconsistent- I got up to level 8 w/ Magneto,
but I *still* can't beat Morrigan's THIRD. Grrrrr!!!

And Temp- my only gripe about Ammy is that she starts w/ my least favorite weapon equipped. I wish you could change that before the round starts, as changing to Devout Beads is usually the first thing I do.

Hahaha i like the missions cause they teach u the combos... but they can be so fucking annoying!!! And u have to pause and check how the combo goes, cause it doesnt show completely on screen... so u gotta memorize it and whatnot... too much work!!! Plus, I love when they call a move by its name, like with Phoenix they have blaze sword... wich is just her forward+H attack, but instead of saying that they give u the cute little name uve never heard before!

She IS amazing!

Phoenix sucks unless she's Dark Phoenix. She's one of the flashiest characters though.

So this game doesn't even have a story mode. WTH? What was all that talk about it having a story mode for?

Some hackers have have dug into the code of the game.... and Capcom pulled that damn on-disc locked content crap again.

All the alternate costumes they just released? On the disc.

Shuma-Gorath? 100% complete and playable, with every move, sound effect, pictures, and ending.

Jill Valentine? Fully in the game. Apparently she's just missing some audio, but she every part of her and her moves are on the game-disc.

The hackers revealed there's quite a bit more costumes and code on the disc itself that Capcom is locking until they want to charge $5 for it.

On the positive, Frank West and Doctor Octopus's "entry" data was found for the game, but none of their assets, so if they ever came out they'd be genuine DLC.

And that just confirmed to me I won't be buying this game new. I don't like the notion of paying $60-80 for a brand new game and having a large of chunk of the content denied to me unless I pay an extra fee. I'll just wait for a GOTY version or a version with all the inclusive DLC unlocked from the get-go.
