About Me
The future seemed so bright.
But this thing turned out so evil,
I don’t know why I’m still surprised.
Even angels have their wicked schemes,
And you take that to new extremes.
But you’ll always be my hero,
Even though you lost your mind...

It hard to choose between UlcaTron, Pred and Torchia, all pretty brilliant, but I'll say ulcatron

Haha I quit these competitions. I don't like this 400 x 400 sig stuff.
But haha congratulations to the rest of you. You have talent.

You shouldn't quit. You had some good stuff man.
There's just a disconnect between what I find aesthetically pleasing as a signature and what other people do. I don't care about winning, but it does bother me to see that the signatures I think are the best don't get enough votes to place. You guys like what you like and I'm sorry that this competition isn't for me anymore.

To me though, it's less of a competition, and more of a showcase. And we all have our own styles. I, myself, enjoy making more of a clean, almost flat-looking signature. I enjoy using vectors, and making everything fit to just the way I like it. Also, I've improved since I've started entering these things.
I think you should keep on going with the style you like, and showing your work to everyone. And you can't personally get better unless you keep at it. I love seeing everyone's work here.
Good job everyone. This is fun. :)

Your not the only under dog man. Believe me I been doing this a Long time and don't get as much appreciation for my creative side. NOW... NOW... Dammit I'm not saying I'm better then anyone else. I love all your guys efforts. It's inspiring to me and many others. However myself among many others with a lot of experience can be underated at times to people with a totally different style. And less advanced techniques. It does frustrate I know all about tempo lol. In all Honesty though I, myself don't care about being first every SOTW. I would hate it because it wouldn't be a competition then and it would also be unfair. But I get used to the fact it's not always about how professional it looks but how you involve ideas into it. I may be in a league of my own in art. But there's still other peoples stuff who inspires me to do better and evolve. It's a good thing. I think if you could put more faith into your art instead of rushing to try and win sotw's you would win a lot more or come close in a lot of these things. Just keep trying don't give up.
I don't know man, Erik has a point, it's getting harder and harder for me to enter these things. Everybody puts tons of time and effort into these thigns doing I don't know what, and I try to come up with something nearly as good and I've got nothing. Ever since the second SOTW I've been going WAY downhill, and I've been going fast, with this week being my worst. Even when I put out good stuff, it's overshadowed by everyone else's, I don't think I've even gotten a vote in a month. And with the introduction of the pop out sigs, it's been getting even harder for me to try and compete. I might do a few more, but for the most part, my willingness to participate is almost gone.
And, I don't want to sound ball busting, I'm just shooting out ideas, but...
To be fair, MINION, you do host the compititions, so you know ahead of everyone else exactly what the next theme will be. I'm not saying you take advantage of the extra time, I'm just saying you COULD take advantage of the extra time.
Perhaps you could announce what the next week's theme would be at the END of each week, so everyone has a bit of extra time to put into their work. I mean, I work every day of the week except Sundays, so that's really my best time to work on an entry. However, there's nothing to do for the contests on Sunday, so my schedule for working on it is slimmed down alot. I may be the only one in this situation, but I know everyone would appreciate the extra work time.

I see where a lot of ppl are coming from, I gotta say though, I am VERY surprised it came up this week. this time about 50% where really good, the other 50 where pretty crap (Mine included! thats why i dont feel bad sayin this lol)
Anyway, MINION, I gotta say, ur a special case, cause ur on a league of ur own. The only one who could truly compete w in my opinion is OngBak, and he's been gone for a while. From you I expect nothing but greatness. You are on a different curve, different grading scale. since we get so many 10's from you, it's become the average.
Another thing I think is the problem, is some ppl who vote quickly scroll down, throw a couple quick glances, and choose whatever they think is nicer. They dont stop to really look. That way, one sig that maybe has a dazzling effect but the rest is crap, gets a lot of votes. (Torchia I obviously dont mean ur sig since I voted for u and explained why)
Also, it could simply be that you plain dont like a sig that other ppl like. Maybe the artist likes the render on the right, but you think its a mistake and would have been way better in the middle. That happens, when it comes to visuals, thats very subjective.
If I may be so bold to suggest this, how about going back to the Judging system? It worked pretty well untill... well... someone got accused of sleeping with someone and then braking up, etc etc. It was actually kind of really funny.
But yeah! I say we get judges! Since I havent made a new sig I like in ages, and my photoshop fails at life, I'd volunteer to be one.

Ehh, not sure I'd go that far, I mean, I'm not sure how long most people work on a sig, but for me, with getting the renders, and doing all the prep work included, it never takes more than about a half an hour. SO saying he gets a head start isn't really a valid point, since even when he submits it, he would've gotten the same amount of time as anyone else. I see what you're saying, I just don't think it's true.

To be 100% Honest I don't make my sigs till I announce the SOTW. But from now on when I announce winners I will leave the theme of next weeks SOTW if it will help.
