Awesome info Wanderer.
So Jingang Quan means Diamond Fist eh? Well..the funny thing is that Vajramushti, the oldest known Indian martial art, also means Diamond Fist and Vajramushti dates back 3000 years ago. I wonder if the two styles are connected somehow.

Just a quick question: Does anyone here study under the karate style of Goju-Ryu? Because I have yet to meet someone who has, besides my fellow classmates...
0
I don't study Goju-Ryu Karate but I know that it's one of the 4 original Okinawan Karate styles and it uses hard and soft moves. Hotaru is going to use Goju-Ryu in Mortal Kombat: Deception.

goju ryu is a good street oriented martial art.
0
Yeah, that is why I take it. Oh, and about the Hotaru using it, that is gonna be kickass! But I doubt they are going to have the real moves set, though.
We've really been diversifying in class lately, stretch, do basic Shotokan punches, then move into some Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu combos. Then we started doing some Muay Thai. One of the kardas the more advanced students were doing looked suspiciously like Moifah as well...
I'm on holidays for two weeks, so I won't be going to class so yeah I can't tell you anymore on what they entailed until then!

What exactly does MIA mean, Forevergrey? Anyway, glad your back. And good point, i had forgotten about tatoos.
Wanderer, everyone makes mistakes
Thanks for the info on Jingang Quan. Still nothing on earth goblin though
About Jingang Quan and Vajramushti meaning the same thing, could it be so simple as: Both Indians and Shaolin monks knowing Diamond is the hardest material? I doubt it though.
While i am at it, have any of you seen a style or MA that was correctly depicted in either a movie or a film? It is rare, is'nt it? You can also give examples of gross Mcdojo style movie or games, should you find any. (And i think you will.
)
See you guys! (Since there still are no girls in this thread.)

Both Indians and Shaolin monks are Buddhists or have beliefs based on Buddhism. That is why they both have the same meaning for a style.

Well...not all Indians are Buddhist. In fact, most were Hindu. The Shaolin monks followed Chan (Dhyana) Buddhism while Indian Buddhists followed either Theravada or Mahayana Buddhism. I think that some of the Buddhists in India might've adopted Vajramushti and spread it to China.

I know, but I thought it was implied so I wouldn't have to explain. It was easier to just say "Indians" instead of explaining it.

Well, yes, Shaolin monks are usually Chinese though I'm sure there were some Indian Shaolin monks. The founder of the Northern Shaolin temple in Honan was an Indian Buddhist monk named Ba Tuo and he had two Chinese disciples who used to be generals if I'm not mistaken.

lol well, the funny thing is that Vajramushti is more of an external style while Jingang Quan is more of an internal style...
I'll try to look into Disha Quan (Earth Goblin Boxing) some more.

BTW, i'd like to share with you guys a workout tip, wich i actually read a long time ago, but had forgotten until recently.
I make a point that this is not my original idea, should anyone become pissed( but why would they be?)
Anyway here goes: Go to a punching bag. Punch a few times, but put your ELBOWS into the move. Imagine that you are punching with your elbows, and the forearms are just extentions of them. If done correctly, you should punch alot harder, since more bodyweight and muscular power is used. Same goes for Pushups, push with your elbows, not your hands. And Pullups, pull with your elbows.
This was used when (i think) Spetnaz were to be trained, and they had to learn in 6 months to be as effective as one would be after 3-4 years of Martial Arts training.
No matter the origin, this remains a great tip, and a good way to start using bodyweight in punches. I would think it works for kicks aswell, but i have not had the time to test it as thouroughly.(spelling, anyone?
)
Right, better go now.
Seeyou peeps.
