I used to watch when i was 11 or 12......

I used to get Sky for free. I used to watch it when there was some whole story about this Green thing that killed people and absorbed them, then got stronger. Meanwhile there were some big hard Androids wanting to kil some mofos. And some guy, Goku? He was running down from Hevean for about 10 Episodes.

Can anyone offer me a explanation to what happend.

I still play the games, but I havn't seen the actual show or movies in a while (though I have alot of them).

I loved the Cell and Majin Buu saga. Janemba, Hildegarn, Cooler; Brolli are favourites from the movies.

Even though GT is underrated and a failure for alot of people, I actually like some of the elements and story in it. The graphics are awesome and the villians are bad ass. Omega Shenron made a sweet final boss.

Yamcha Mcfox is my fave character. Lunch is the best woman of that show. The Ritjoan Twins are cool looking and oscure characters.

Actually, everything in the Frieza saga DID happen.

In the 1980s or so, a manga comic was created called Dragonball. Dragonball was meant to be a spoof of Martial Arts movies and shows. Eventually Dragonball got so many fans that the creator, Akira Toriyama, decided to expand it by coming out with the Anime series. Soon the Dragonball anime and manga was such a hit with readers Akira Toriyama released a manga sequel to the Dragonball series, called Dragonball Z. The manga was illustrated and written from start to finish (Raditz to Uub) DBZ was also such a hit with readers that an anime was released as well. Soon the DB franchise was revered as the greatest action manga/anime ever created (even today).

A short non-canon epilogue series was released called Dragonball GT, the preview included in the 1st DVD set of Fruits Basket. DBGT was only an anime, and was non-canon, meaning it never actually happened.

(Dragonball AF and Dragonball V are NOT REAL and were NOT created by Toriyama at all, but were just stories written by fans. A fake Flash anime series was created of AF, along with a Mugen video game. Still both AF and V are non-canon and are in no way associated with Toriyama's Dragonball series or the company that made it.)

So that proves it. The Garlic Jr. saga, Cell Saga, Buu Saga, and all the other sagas happened after the Frieza saga. Another source of proof of this is the Shonen Jump magazine which featured every single chapter of both Dragon Ball and Dragonball Z.

Also, whoever wrote that article had absolutely NO proof or sources of his info, but just spurted critical nonsense.

No it did not happen. Akira toriyama was supposed to end dbz at the end of the frieza saga. The company made him end his contract and forced him to make more to satisfy fan needs. The company milked alot of money out of the rest of dbz and dbgt. Akira only helped with some of the character designs in dbgt. Akira wanted to make goku the legendary ssj and frieza the final villain.
You Saiyajin_Hunter from Gamefaqs/Spot TC?

Yes, Dragon Ball was supposed to end with Goku becoming the Super Saiyan of legendm and dying when Namek finally blew up. Akira Toriyama gave in to fan demand too much. He tried to end DB several times, and get rid of Goku. Hell, Vegeta was supposed to die on Earth after his fight with Goku in the Saiyan saga.

It ended up being pretty epic as a whole. I'm not sure if DB would've been nearly as popular if it had stuck to the original plan.

Sure the Buu saga was rediculous, but imo, it was a nice return to the silly/comedic air of the original DB.

What?

Toriyama had nothing to do with the length of the TV series. He was a creative consultant on both DBZ and GT, which meant that he gave advice on the design of characters, scripts, etc. He had nothing to do with the length of the TV series itself, beyond that it was his comic that the show was based on.

Furthermore, the Dragonball manga was already done through the Frieza saga by 1991, which is before the anime premiered; So the idea that Frieza was supposed to be the 'final villian', at least from the source material's perspective, just isn't true.

Now, if you wanna get technical, Toriyama tried to end the comic a number of times; Hell, it was SUPPOSED to end, in order, when they found all 7 Dragon Balls, after the RR Army was destroyed, after King Piccolo died, when Goku grew up, after Raditz died, after Vegeta left Earth, etc. But fan support kept it going for 10 years.

EDIT: Hehe...I just went to that site. 'Tis a good parody of moral panic sites.

Fan demand is also why the focus kept getting shifted back to Goku, eventually leading to the Goku fanboy's ultimate wet dream, GT.

The whole point of Gohan's hidden power was so that the torch would be passed on to him. He was supposed to take Goku's place as the main hero. That was the point of the Cell saga.

Gohan is supposed to be the legendary, one and only Super Saiyajin. Vegeta was supposed to be killed by Gohan. Yamcha still goes around with bulma. Then again Yamcha Mcfox goes around with Lunch, Mai and Susie Q also. Dbz is anything but epic. Dbz is a sick joke compared to Y.Y.H. and Gundam 0080 which came out about the same time in Japan.

I agree with Tetra_Vega about DBGT. It was a non-canon anime (NOT manga) made for fans.

But you aren't realizing the one true fact here: DBZ was released as a comic in 1991 by Akira Toriyama, the man behind other comics, shows, and games like Dragon Quest and SandLand.

There are many complaints that DragonBall Z is just an animated series, but it's not. PROBABLY ALL OF THE MANGA COMICS EVER CREATED IN JAPAN ARE DECIDED TO BE ANIMATED.

The story in the animated version of DBZ follows the exact same story in the manga. Somehow you can't understand the show was predetermined and was meant to end the way it did from the beginning! This is another example of bullshit spewing from people who don't have enough evidence to prove that any of what you are saying is true. Go ahead and struggle to give me 2 good pieces of evidence and I may consider believing you.

Not all manga is animated. Kiddy Grade 2 hasn't been animated and it's been on volume one of the manga since 2006.
