Well, I like the Lin Kuei personally. I think that clan is more awesome.

Your thoughts.

I'll have to go with the Lin Kuei as the Shirai Ryu has been dead for years and we didn't really get any delving into it. It's also kind of unique to see Chinese, Ninja-type assassins as opposed to the Shirai Ryu, which is a Japanese clan of Ninja.

Lin Kuei hands down.
Lin Kuei for sure.
They're the original, and the origin of Ninjitsu, and the Shirai Ryu. The Shirai Ryu are just a bunch of posers founded by that traitor Takeda.

To quite the contrary....and a bit of irony as well, I find the Shirai Ryu more interesting as a clan. The Lin Kuei don't have many things to offer me after they decided to roboti-size their members. It's almost like, where do you go now? As a clan I mean.

The Lin Kueis' mascot(Sub-Zero) has been the only real interesting character to me, and has gotten far more development than any other character from that clan. Which is simply a justification.

Now, while Scorpion is far from a favorite character of mine, the question arises: "Who else was in that clan?"

Other questions that arise are:

1. What did they change to be thier own clan?

Commonly, a break from the norm like that signifies a dramatic change in stradegy or training. It's what makes Costco juuuust a little different from Wal-Mart. Even though they are both really big retailers.

2. What talent did Takeda have?

We have fire, water, air, lightning, a couple sorcerers, and a shaman....was he by chance Earth? or maybe he was mystic, or spiritual kinda like Nightwolf, or maybe he was cosmic....he could've even been dark arts but who knows?

3. If they were formitable adversaries, how were they allowed to do so?

The I don't understand how the Lin Kuei couldn't find a whole clan that was developing. "Ninja"?

Yknow, just a couple things there.

Lin Kuei definitley. It's not easy for a chinese Ninja clan to turn members into 650 lb. robots, and have them move very agile.

Interesting point, WOW I must say lol Scorpion's clan is getting killed! (no pun intended)

However, if his ending is canon...then that would be interesting IMO.

If sub's is canon, he could still be the leader of the Lin Kuei right? Except he would be an Ice God as well.glasses

personally i like the shirai ryu, very interesting clan and scorpion is my fav and he was the leader of the shirai ryu. besides the shirai ryu was destroyed by sorcerers and scorpion wasnt there to defend it. the same would happen to the lin kuei. japanese were better ninjas anyway

Scorpion wasn't the leader of the clan.
