You know full well that this is a site largely motivated by young, aggressive, heterosexual males. We got the message. "There's happy gay people among us." To that I say Great! Fantastic! Wonderful! No sarcasm.....And I am an advocate of people doing what makes them happy. So I also support Gay rights and all that jazz.

However, don't make a thousand threads about it man. I don't do it about African American rights, or the fact that we now have a black president. Nor do the women on this site do it about anything, and I will expect that gays don't do it either, even though I respect your territory.

What I'm saying doesn't blanket gay issues in my opinion of them being on this site. Nor does it even blanket those heterosexual threads that have women or men pictures all in them either. I've appreciated having some of these threads and discussions with all sorts of people on this site. Gay, not gay....whatever. Doesn't matter to me.

But look, I for one don't come on here to see how happy the gay people on the site are doing about gay stuff, and the latest gay illustrations that aim to buck the status quo (which would be heterosexuality, on this particular site). I come on here for Mortal Kombat content, and I appreciate this site the most when it shows this purpose consistently.

If you wanna make a million threads about gay stuff, talk all day about gay issues, and showcase gay art, go to a gay site. Just makes the most logical sense to me.

Again, I'm not saying that you can't talk about gay stuff, or that you can't post up some generally gay MK fanart.......I'm not being conclusive or discriminatory. But I am saying, if you're gonna do it, then do it. But put your stuff in one of your threads about it. Then we can go to your one thread, and look at, and talk about your cause, or your issue, or your art. Whatever...

You have made your statement and now it is time to move on.
Continuing this series of yours would be enforcing your opinion upon others. It would be like if someone made art with Scorpion holding a cross and having angel wings, and then write about how many people do not agree with Christianity (just an example, not intending to offend anyone)...

These forums are for discussing Mortal Kombat related topics and show some Mortal Kombat related art etc. What you are doing is using Mortal Kombat as a media to push your opinion through to this forum's audience.

Though I agree with your statement, that love is for everyone, I still think that this is not the way to do it. There are sites made to celebrate the gay community through art, I can even give you a link where this kind of art would fit right in! But this is not the right place to do so...
If you want to post art on this site, do it for the sake of Mortal Kombat, not for the sake of something else.

Yet nobody protests the posting of woman/woman artwork, or even heterosexual coupling artwork. Neither of those are particularly relevant to Mortal Kombat, as it sure isn't a love story. If you're not comfortable with homosexuality, why not just skim past it?
As for the less "tolerant" people turning up, I guess they'll just have to get over it, won't they? Whatever the cause, it's still artwork, and I don't really see anything wrong with it.

It is not that it is two guys kissing, it's the reason why he posts it.
I think that if he wants to post art of two MK guys, then post it for the art's sake, not for the reason behind it.
I do not mind the coupling, I am gay myself, but from what I understand, the whole reason he posts this art is because he wants to prove some point about people not accepting gay love.

And as stated in posts above, this forum's audience is mainly aggressive young, and most likely heterosexual, men! Hence the fact that they have nothing against male/female or female/female coupling...
No, if he wants to post this kind of art here, he's not doing anything wrong, that's true... But with the people who are on here, I don't believe he will get the best of critics, but rather start a discussion about homosexuality in MK... Which actually happened!

Because of the audience here, his art will not be judged because of the art, but because of what is depicted on it: Two men kissing!
It is of personal experience that I write this.

After having said all this, I think it is brave of him to post art like this on this forum, considering all of this discussion... In a perfect world, no one would have anything against this kind of art, but well... It's not a perfect world!

Who cares about the reason why he posts it? If its MK and its art then he should be allowed to post how many of them as he wants. I think if it was two female characters or a male and a female character nothing would be said and you guys wouldn't care if he posted a million of em. But since its two men he gets a "limit" and thats not fair. If you think two men kissing is soo disgusting then why even bother posting or reading the thread? I just don't understand. I've been here since 2005 and have seen tons of lesbian art work but I have never seen any one say "By posting that you're imposing your opinion on us, please stop". Its all bullcrap.

However, I mention the audience and character of this forum and site because, it is quite useful information if he really doesn't intend on getting people riled up over the content. If he didn't know, now he knows....

Since you seem so passionate about it, here you go. There's three or so rules at play here that are relevant:

1. Links or images to pornography are not allowed. This includes nudity and strong sexual situations. This FAQ serves as the only warning regarding this rule; users found posting such material will receive a minimum three month ban depending on the severity of the offense.

2. To prevent flooding and abuse of the forums, you are limited to creating five active threads per forum. This means that any thread active within the last 24 hours or a thread that is still on the first page of that forum after this period counts towards that total. Users found creating excessive amounts of topics will be warned and possibly banned.

3. No Flaming

Harassing and degrading other members of the MK Community is a sure way to ruin Mortal Kombat Online's unique atmosphere. As such, there will be very little tolerance for "flaming". Arguments and debates are healthy, however, you may not insult the other party. Flaming includes all of the following points:


* Verbally degrading other users
* The use of racist, sexist, or discriminatory remarks at any time (including jokes)
* Harassing other users persistently in any manner
* Harassing other users via MKO's private messaging system



Posts found to contain this content will be issued skull points and their source will be warned. Users are asked to use the private messaging system (or off site means) to carry on these debates, however if one party feels the other is harassing them without cause moderators will take action against this person. **Try putting all this SAME content in one thread, like a stickie thread. Allows you to still post up your art without shoving "how happy you are to be gay" in everyone's face over and over with a thousand threads. Nobody cares about anything that much, especially on a site that has nothing to do with any kind of gay cause.

***If Flaming starts over the content of your postings, my "job" in that case would be to get rid of the root cause and disburse all the subsequent violators...and in that case, "the root" would be Your thread, Your Art, Your cause.

Mortal Kombat is not exactly a series where two guys making out would be attractive. I mean, Quan chi and shang Tsung? MK is basically an ugly bunch all together, unless you put say.... Mavado and Kenshi together, then you'd have a good looking picture.
