I love listening to a decent podcast while doing any other things.
Anyone know of any well produced MK podcasts -- and if not; who's going to do one? There's plenty to be talking about in the lead-up to MK vs DCU!

I was talking to DAB on IRC and he just said he's been thinking about getting an MKO podcast together, and he wants ~Crow~, Trish, and Justin: Master of the Wheels of Steel, to do it.

Or something like that...
I've never come across an MK podcast. It'd be nice to have something MK to listen to while I'm working, without having to wait two and a half weeks! grin

It's always more interesting to hear them talking about things in kind of a free-style manner rather than "only" the written interviews. Or those "on the spot" interviews too, actually. Those always seem to have Boon or whoever really tense, or oversensitive to what they can and can't say(and then there's the editing). Just sayin', we can understand that there are restrictions. I'd appreciate them talking about the process of making the game more than anything right now. That part seems more interesting to me now since I got into school for gaming.

I'd also appreciate them having a female who is on the team talk too. In my graphics classes at school, we have a couple females there. Ans I know there's a few female programmers walking around the school. Heh, it's a Tech school, all the students there are programmers to some extent. Ha! (All "nerds" walking around) So I think it'd be cool to hear their take on the process sometimes too. "Girl Power" lol....but seriously though, they should let a female talk. Marketing team, development team...something.

I'd listen in, to tell you the truth. I just hate to hear them talk around all the restrictions and such. Allows too much misinterpretation most of the time. Makes them professional "round-about" talkers, instead of straight talkers.

Just tell us what's up. Elaborate on some things, y'know? What they think about the fans' reaction this time around, what they plan to do about it. What's supposed to sell the game given the fans reaction and so on.

Something solid about the next MK game that will not change would be really nice. Comparisons to what they're looking at for the next "true" MK game are always nice. Certainly got people going for MKvsDC.

You know, I'd also appreciate them showing some pride in their work. Tell me what MK is doing that's "better" than anything going on right now, in a manner that doesn't insult other games.

I've seen that done all the time in these types of things. "What we haven't seen people do yet".....or "The next step forward"......or "We took this idea and..."

ect.

That's what I think for now though.

Just for context: I actually started this thread before the MKvsDC podcast was announced (which was super-cool). The two-and-a-half week wait not so much, but if they can get some discussion going and stretch it out over an hour or more, that'll be nice.

I was talking (in the last post) about an MKO podcast not necessarily relying on interviews (or guests).
I'm going to assume the wait for the official podcast means regular output is going to be a bit beyond the Midway team, and an informal discussion setting isn't going to maneuver around the blockades of Midway's very controlled promotion scheme.

Generally fan podcasts might not be the most auspicious of occasions, but if any MK fanbase was going to put together discussion and newsbytes, MKO would be a pretty good place to start.

With a game on the way, right now is obviously a very good time to start.
Contrary to panic stricken posters, speculation can be a very interesting subject, and provides a lot of potential discussion right now. You would hope more conversation topics would grow out of an on-going release schedule.

RE: the start of the thread -- I'm just so very surprised there doesn't already seem to be something like this. MK has to have one of the richest stories in beat 'em ups, providing a lot of conversation material. Lord knows there are tonnes of podcasts dedicated to far more inane subjects!

I really enjoy listening to discussions about things I like while I'm doing other things. I'm listening to this week's 1up Retronauts right now!
Why not an MK(O) podcast? It's not like TMK set the bar impossibly high... HEYOOOOHHHH~!!!

I think that means we have to fight to the death now, right?...

Just in case it missed anyone: this was me deliberately misquoting. LOLZ

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd bump this one, since it's allowed on the Fan Submission forum and all :D

While I haven't found any non-Midway podcasts dedicated exclusively to MK, I found a couple of general gaming podcasts where MK's mentioned. I thought I'd post a couple of them that I know about here, and include which episodes mention MK.

Worlds Collide - of course - All the MKasts

KOXM Radio Podcast - 51, 123, 143
Major Nelson Podcast - 305
The Bender Podcast - 5, 18, 22, 23, 31
Frayed Wire Podcast - 4
Dean and Nooch on Gaming - 12 (date is June 1 2007)
