It's perfect. Turquoise robes and long sleeves. Looking like a real mage instead of a shirtless brawler. He shouldn't be allowed to wear anything else.

He reminds me of a Shadow priest like this, and it really fits him. However, perhaps something like this would fit Shang Tsung better?

I think there should have always been a costume like this for Quan Chi, whether it was only his alternative costume or not. The costume we've seen him wearing looks like his combat outfit but it lacks the mystique necessary. I'd like to see him wearing this costume in his possible cameos in the next Mortal Kombat. One of your best I've seen so far - well done.

Seriously I lvoe this design.

I like the hood, the rodes, the face, the eye. The overall concept is really cool. Its more sorcerer-like than the recent Quan-Chis we've seen, and is more remeniscent of his MK4 style. Wasnt ever a great fan of the bare chest look they gave him for some reason.

He looks very sinister and creepy.

One small thing, you already replied about how you intend him to fight etc, similar to Shang Tsung in MK1. Well that would work and does sound good, especially the magic based idea, but maybe the floating thing would be a similarity that is a little too great there. Perhaps some slits in the lower part of the garment, or ahving the lower garment amde up of different parts of material but ahve the overall same look, would allow his legs to move move easily ie he could kick and stuff better, yet the overall look stays the same.

personally i would prefer to see something like this as an alt (a bit too similar to shang tsung, perhaps, whilst quan-chi's trademark topless, spiky look is more unique) but excellent nonetheless

The thing is, I've always felt MK needs a magical character in long robes/ cassock, be it Shang Tsung, Raiden, Ermac, or Quan Chi... The author's design is not only brilliantly done and detailed, but gives an impression of having been desperately necessary in earlier games as well.

Seriously, Quan Chi wears outfit of a wrestler, rather than of a mage? Ridiculous how sometimes fans know way better than the creators.

This is perfect. It's the sort of art that makes me appreciate him more as a character because of your idea.

Nice and all but it took away the most striking aspects> namely his build and the chalk white skin. Now he can pass as a Twilight Cultist, any robed mage in any setting, you get the drill.

Yes. A disenchanted member of Generation-X attending a german goth festival with more spikes than Spawn. Suit yourself, I just don't like somehting that not only has no functional purpose, but looks clunky and stupid. I like Quan Chi's physique to contrast his abilities.
