Nah, the primary has to be his Kahn's Army uniform. The chitinous cancer outfit will be the alt.

I already used the samurai look for Raiden's MK1 alt and will be using it again when I do DA. His MK3 alt will probably look something a little similar to this.

As for Jax, I'll figure something out but I'm definitely going for a "scientist" theme since he builds the OIA's tech himself and I really want to push that he's more than just a tough guy who talks "street" or a guy whose job is to be the responsible leader Leonardo-type to Sonya's hotheaded Raphael-type., he's actually a really talented engineer. (So...kind of a cross between Leo and Don, to keep the TMNT comparison going, lol)

Are you also gonna add Kenshi & Quan Chi?

I like Quan Chi's MK4 primary/MKDA alt as his alternate.

Kenshi will be in MK3. Quan Chi will only be an NPC. If I do draw him, he'll definitely be in his MK4 outfit.

As of Reptile... what of his MK9 costumes?

Baraka's MK9 alt?

Baraka's MK9 alt kind of confuses me, I'm not sure how it works 'cause see, he's got these pieces of armor on his chest, arms, and knees that glow like fire or lava and in the concept art even have smoke coming off of them and I'm not sure how that works, like are they magic or somehow packed with hot coals or something? It's worn so close to the skin, where is the heat/fire coming from? So...I'd have to understand it before I'd want to draw it, lol.

As for Reptile's MK9 costumes, his MK3 alt will probably be based on the primary. The alt is too similar to what I already did with him in MK1, though, I don't really see a point in repeating it unless I wanted to use that gold snake ornaments on his shoulders, but I didn't like those, they looked kinda goofy to me.

Tremor in this story... can't he have a background like Smoke's & Sub-Zero's of how he got recruited by the Lin Kuei then to the Black Dragon?

Smoke's MK9 alt can surely be Tremor's primary instead.

There'll be similarities between the armor on Smoke's MK9 costume and my Tremor, yeah.

How would you make Kung Lao's alternate costumes for 2 & 3? The primary costume from MKDA does suit him.

I liked the spikes on Kabal's helmet. You gonna mix the MK9 primary with the MK3 primary somehow?

Stryker... the helmet suit from mka surely fits for his alternate.

What of Fujin, Tanya & Shinnok?

I've always preferred the backwards cap, it adds more to the "normal guy" thing for me. In fact, the version of him in the Armageddon roster poster is my favourite version of Stryker, even if the only difference it and MK3 is just that his face is slightly different. Shame it wasn't playable.

I agree with them being unfitting, it was the only thing I can think of. Although speaking of unfitting undies, will Blaze and Meat have theirs? I never saw the point of them because I just always assumed they'd have nothing there that needs covering up anyway.

And mentioning Tremor and Kenshi in MK3 reminds me, since Kia and Jataaka are in MKA's Konquest, are they gonna be in the Armageddon playable roster or will they just disappear after Taven kicks their faces in? In fact, will you keeping Armageddon's "every playable character" and adding Tremor, Nimbus, Skarlet, Monster, Belokk and Hornbuckle? I guess Nimbus wouldn't quite make sense since he'd most likely go to Heaven after Shang is blown up and isn't really special enough for someone to revive him. And Hornbuckle may be dead/really old by then.

I dunno, the hooded coat one kinda sucks, the hood is the cool part and he has that in his main costumes now. The unmasked skull-head one I'll probably do a version of when I get to 4.



Meat won't. Blaze'll have something, maybe stone underpants, dunno yet.



Kia and Jataaka'll just be staying NPCs since they have no personality or stories of their own and I can't really think of any way to make henchpersons like them with no intention of betraying Quan Chi interesting.

As for whether I'll be adding the rumor characters to Armageddon...it kinda depends on whether they're dead or relevant or not. I could see Skarlet and Belokk making it in, but probably not the others, though it has occured to me that it might be interesting to have Nimbus pop back up as an undead under Quan Chi or Shinnok's control to fuck with Johnny since he took the leadership role.

Primary – Since he wears his brother's uniform in that game, Bi-Han's MK1 primary.

Alternate – Don't know. His frozen limbs alternate won't work until DA, and we don't know what he got up to in the years between 3 and 4.

Primary – His MK4 costume, maybe with the cowboy he wears in the MK1 portion?

Altermate – Some kind of formal wear? If she's an ambassador's daughter, she's probably have to attend formal events.

I have extremely rough sketches of some of the male ninjas for MK3. That's the only working ahead past MK2 I've done.

Keep in mind how incredibly LONG it takes him to do these. Considering what he's told me over PM, maybe ranging from 1-3 years. Check back then, K XP

It does take a lot longer than it ought, and I feel like a colossal jerk that such long periods of time go by without any progress.

Just for a little perspective...I drew the MK1 primaries in 2009.
If it's any comfort, I have been spending bits and pieces of the off-time working on Post-Armageddon character and plot ideas. I briefly entertained entering one of them into the KAK contest, but I don't know if any of them work as stand-alones without the context of the plot or the partners/archenemies I'm creating for them. It'd be kinda like introducing Scorpion without a Sub-Zero for him to seek revenge against, y'know?
Also, most of them don't have names yet 'cuz I'm bad at that.

Shame. Might've been interesting to throw one to the whims of the cycle [in 2012], then build on that existing reference in KAKVIII. It's a tough ask for a contest essentially built on the quality of a definitive character, but I think it's also fair to say the authenticity of a character with dangling plot threads (which could be answered, in-contest) would be nice.

Being overdone, over-written, and lacking that authenticity probably hinders a lot of entries. There's always 2013/2014! [Don't forget to support KAKVII MKOmmunity voting & help us pick the winner, mofos!]
