if there is a mk3...which im doubting at this point...there's sure to be a good bit of gore and blood and people have been asking for
the director mink...as they call him...directed a steven segal movie(Into The Sun) which had a good amount of blood as almost all shoot and kill the baddies do...and a Busta Rhymes and Xzhibit movie(Full Clip) which was nothing but a blood bath....Only concern of mine is will they use this opportunity wisely?

What is a mortal Kombat game without blood and Gore, none.
And a film carrying this title, should have blood and gore, or else they should name it Babykombat :Devastation.

I agree 110%
We need to avoid the destined "PG13" rating and focus on a more "R" rated product.
For sure.
MK:A Contained shards of love and compliance and humour...I think the new one should focus on all the dark aspects that make up MK:
No funny stuff...and esp. no lovey dovey crap.

r rated movies don't make huge money because you exclude half of the movie go'ers. And making money is still the main reason for making movies.

True...but perhaps if the movie contained explicit violence, yet ignored every OTHER aspect of a gratuitous nature, (IE: Nudity & coarse language) it would probably just recieve the rating just BELOW "R"
In order for the movie to be close to the game as possible, the creators have to follow specific guidelines and follow the same patterns as the game would...(IE the darkness, violence and non-humourous intensity)
all I'm saying is it HAS to be 100% different AND BETTER then Annihilation.
How sad is it when not even the hardcore fanbase can appreciate the movie?

The Movie is based on a Mature Rated Game. So, they should make a mature rated movie in contrast. If it excludes the other movie goers, then oh fuckin' well. They aint supposed to be playing or looking at it no way. They shouldn't be focused on baby shit when making this film.

Whats with all the swearing, are you trying to sound tough?
Like I said, they dont give a flying monkey about fans, it's all about the money, the more people see this movie the more money it will make. And money still makes the world go round.
Why make a few milion dollars profit if you can make tens of milions profit?
They really do not care if they lose a few fans.
So don't get your hopes up

It has to be r rated.

A frequent technique is to release a PG-13 theatrical version, followed shortly by an Unrated or Restricted DVD edition, in edition to the theatrical cut. This maximizes profits by appealing to both the young teens and adults and the more bloodthirsty fans. "Unrated" DVDs are proven to sell effectively, while PG-13 theatrical releases are proven to have a larger viewing audience and in consequence higher worldwide profits.

Nice of them to make a buck off us, but those movies are usually fly by flicks. Forgotten straight away after the release date, and even sooner after ther DVD release date. Nice proposal though.
There's nothing wrong with making this film R rated. I think it was "xdevilin-" who mentioned something about overbearing coarse language and the strong sexual content. Things that are famed in R rated films. I feel if they can blur the line by making "scary" PG-13 movies, the same can be done for a bloody/gorey fight film. And have a successful payday.
Personally, I could careless about those two attributes being in the movie (foul language and sexual content. Look at Blade 1-3, all action/fighting/blood all over the place and gore). Nor does MK have a coarse language or sexual appeal. It's all fighting, flashiness, blood & gore. We really don't even need main fighters in the film to say alot at all, just make what they do say relavent.
For alot of swearing and sex I could just watch a bunch a late night rap videos (or porn for that matter). Blood and gore don't sour a good fight movie money wise, it makes the experience of the fighting better equalling a bigger payday for them. This has been proven as well, if it used correctlly (again with the Blade trilogy). Besides, I mean c'mon, it's in the damn game. Meaning that, it was one of the major factors that made the franchise money in the first place. What about consistancy in this case.
In business, if a logo or slogan/trademark isn't always associated with the store or product, people tend to forget about the franchise and the business looses customers, which is one of the things that happend. We all know this is true i.e Wal Mart and the
Lets stop fooling ourselves about this subject people. Even if it's dumbed down, rated R is the only good way to go with this movie especially because blood & gore must be involved. I guess I have to say--IMO.
Look at the publicity surrounding the game in the begining.............
Look at the game.

On the contrary, the DVD technique is often used in one way or another for most films - the basic principal of releasing multiple versions of the film.
