The action is heating up in Mortal Kombat X as the Outworld Civil War escalates in an exclusive preview posted by Bloody Disgusting. Kotal Kahn is marshalling the troops in Chapter 7 of the DC Comics series, which has a healthy dose of romance just in time for St. Valentine's Day!

As the Outworld civil war reaches its breaking point, Emperor Kotal Kahn sends his most trusted warriors to take down the would-be Empress Mileena. But what happens when a surprise kombatant joins the fight? Enter GORO, the Shokan prince!

The Emperor means business in Chapter 7, summoning his father Kotal K'Etz to personally enter the fray in possession of the Wrath Hammer of Shao Kahn! The true threat isn't would-be Empress Mileena - but rather the cunning warlord general Reiko who has allied himself with Kahn's adopted daughter in the wake of the Emperor's demise! As the charismatic Kotal notes, history is written in blood, but before the day is done he may come to regret sending his kin.

Also this issue: Prince Goro marches into kombat on behalf of Mileena, but it sounds as if the Shokan warrior may be missing in action very shortly. The pre-order warrior won't be gone for too long. As the trailers promise - Goro Lives, and will be playable from April 14th!

I think these things could possibly happen:

1) Kotal's father gets caught in a 3 on 1 fight and is killed; he's the loss Kotal suffers (I hope, I want Erron Black to live and be playable in the game).

2) Reiko dies, and it's his heart Kotal drinks from.

3) Goro fights a more powerful Kotal after the ritualistic drinking of blood (just as in game with Kotal's Blood God variation) and is then killed by him, hence the "Goro lives!" tagline.

4) Mileena will survive and make it into the game as a playable character.

5) Goro was shown on the Kombat Kast streams select screen because he isn't DLC, he's revealed before release to be a character unlocked through story mode but with the pre-order code he can be unlocked day 1.

Kittelsen indicated that was no one in particular's heart Kotal was eating. I don't think he only eats important, named characters' hearts.

This Mileena and Reiko thing is weird. Reiko is banging Mileena, that's pretty gross. Also, did Kotal say he worked with Reiko for years?

I know its a stretch since he looks pretty similar to Kotal Kahn but I would not be against Kotal K'etz being in (maybe as DLC) with a Wrath Hammer variation lol

Didn't one of the solicitations say KotaL fights Kintaro in a battle with the Shokans? I predict Goro kills KotaL's dad, then KotaL hears about this and goes on a Shokan-killing rampage to get back at Goro.

Don't forget that Ed Boon said we will see KotaL's rise AND FALL in the story mode. Perhaps this will be Reiko's chapter? Fingers crossed.

^It seems painfully obvious sometimes. U should check out the thread we have about Variation WishLists for Lesser popular characters. I did a WishList for Reiko giving him that weapon. It makes too much sense. LoL

I have a question regarding the comics.

I'm a little concerned about spoilers for actual Story Mode in the game. Are what we see in the comics, suppose to be what we see in Story Mode?

I love Mileena....LOVE her and she, I think, is sure in the game.

Reiko NEEDS to be in this game. Needs to be an MK4+ character confirmed. Reiko would be perfect against Mileena.

SO if I had to choose one. Reiko wins to be in the game.

Kotal's dad is a gonner.....dead meat.4

NO Jade means YES Mileena. Reiko would be wonderful to GET the hammer once he kills Kotal's father IMO to try to become the emperor.

It's Mileena VS Kotal VS Reiko for rule. PERFECTION.

Ah. Fuck. It's so tempting to dig into these comics but I really don't want anything spoiled for Story Mode. I want to enjoy that shit to the max, just how I did with MK9 and Konquest in Deception.

It was stated on the spoilerish text of printed issue 2 about "previously on MK" that Kotal was one of Shao Kahn's generals, so that's probably why both worked together and Kotal know's about his strategic skills.

I have to say, Reiko at this point will either have an epic death or be playable, there is no longer room for not dying and not being playable combined.

If he's playable I hope he gets a variation based on his strategies (I don't know how, maybe like Spec Ops cassie but with outworld siege weapons or traps, maybe even debuffs).

He is gonna have a dead dad on his hands pretty soon and that will be the turning point of his good side. Goro will kill his father perhaps and Kotal will kill Goro. But killing Goro is really gonna piss the Shokan off and if they back Mileena like it seems they will the Kotal will have Mileena, Reiko, the Red Dragon and the Shokan against him. Not favorable odds.

Everyone remember the fake selection screen we saw ages ago with the blanked out heads and we all though it was strange one had a cowboy hat on... This in itself is not fucking enough to make Reiko anything more than a cartboard cutout.

...

But, it is the correct step in the right direction. This and the MKA KOnquest scene is literally all he has.

Not keen on make-believe pop culture autist Mileena though. Money's on her playing the most dangerous cosplayer. But still.

Reiko is awesome (Please don't die). Mileena looks sick! (Except the tongue)

I am so happy that characters are sexing, cursing and making babies now. It makes them feel a bit more fleshed out and real.
Keep this level of Game of Thrones-esque world and character building up Kittelsen and I'll gladly keep buying this shit forever.

Awesome cover, cannot believe people have not commented on the size of Goro compared to Kotal Kahn. I hope Goro's bigger frame and size compared to Kotal Kahn will carry over in the game, the guy needs to be huge!!

Calling it now, Kotal's dad will be the fallen ally, Reiko will kill Kotal's dad and get Shao Khan's hammer and Kotal's main enemy for MKX will be Reiko who, with all the attention he's getting in the comics, HAS to be in the game. Throw me in for Reiko in MKX. Dude needs to shine badly.

If Reiko does make it into the game, which I think he will tbh, I'm calling it that one of his variations'll have Shao Khan's hammer.

They didn't show anything to say it, but I guess he's giving his father orders because since his Father's little "Test" in the previous chapter, Kotal has learned the true lesson his father wanted to teach him.

He has become a great leader and has earned many (Including his father's) respect. So the power and respect of the people is in Kotal's hands and his dad is happy to help his family, which includes taking the occasional order of Killing Kotal's enemies.

Also, how come we haven't gotten any synopsis for upcoming chapters lately? We got a good few in the beginning... What site did those come from?
