I've been on this site for a while and I KNOW there are a ton of you guys and gals that are BIG SMART in animation etc. So Since the attempt to make a LIVE action movie seem to be moving at the pace of Michael Jackson's Puberty doesn't it seem more realistic in financial terms and the interest of the fans to go Animated instead? Not a cartoon BUT make a movie that is like the opening scenes from MK: Deception. I was so pleased with that! I must have watched it a billion times. Ok so this is why I'm asking the good kids here. Is it NOT financially sound to make movies based on that type of computer animation? Is it too expensive? Take too long? Can they not get the voices and animation to gel? I mean I would LOVE to see MK movies as live action, but at the pace it's happening I'm losing interest. I would at this point be happy with REALLY good computer animation like in the game opening sequences. Ok I'm done whining now. But please let me know all you animation masters......aM I crazy in my thoughts here?

Thanks all

CGI tends to go direct-to-DVD, but hey.

And the animation should be better than the cinematics.

Meh....CG? C'mon, that'd suck. All you'd get would be action, killing, special effects, action, killing, end. You can't get non-juvenile humor or good emotion (like death wails! YAY DEATH WAILS!) with CG. Now 'cel' animation (I say 'cel' since most traditional animation is done on compy's these days), thats a medium that could turn out good.... (and theres already a thread about this. Use the search feature next time...j/k...)

Only problem with a CGI would be the expense. I remember reading on here that the MKDA intro cost between $400,000 - $500,000 - and that was only a few minutes in length.

I'd like to know what that full CGI Final Fantasy movie cost.

FF7AC: Something to the tune of $50,000,000 and 3 years.
FFtSW: Something like $140,000,000 and 5 years.
