What would Mortal Kombat be without a good Cat Fight?

The fight scenes I've seen so far (in general I mean, not jus tthis project) are very impressive. Will the fights be lengthy a la MK Conquest, or short and sweet like MKA?

The longer fights have a little more purpose where the fight may move the plot at the same time or more than one thing is going on during the battle. It's something that hasnt really been done in MK. Where as in the other movies it seemed to be fight - diologue - fight - diologue where the plot only progresses in between each fight scene. Here we're going for something different.

Brandon(Scorpion) I'm excited for our shoot with Wendy this Monday! Plus Mike(Havik) is bringing the "fighting fans" so we are prob gonna take pictures of her all geared up if it doesnt snow too bad.

Monday forecast. Snow likely. Highs in the mid 30s and lows in the low 20s. I might not be Raiden or Sub-Zero but I do have the weather channel! Lets hope for the best.

Wendy will have her first weopon session learning how to use the Sai. Fun stuff!

Also I've been keeping in touch with other canidates who I decided not to use for the Kitana/Mileena role. Though that does not mean you wont see these other actresses geared up in yellow or violet/pink... hint hint.

Thought I'd share this. Seems fan films based on video games have become more popular than usual.

2nd - I think scorpion should not use his sword, but it would be cool if he could use his spear a little bit, like swing it around and stuff like Kratos or something...

I thought I would update everyone on this great news!

Mortal Kombat Next Generation will be broadcast live when the time comes to release the film. This is pretty cool for us as people will have to actually "tune in" to see the movie for its first viewing.

Two weeks after the live web podcast it will be uploaded to Google Video for all to view whenever they want, but that also means that those who dont tune in will have to wait. The live podcast will be hosted by www.csnmedia.org and their servers. I will keep everyone updated!

A few people a some questions about the writing style of the film so I thought I'd post a snippet.

EXT. FOREST - MORNING

Kitana walks down a wooded trail, holding a small bag in her hand. As we come to a dirt like circle, she pulls a relic from out of the bag and sets it upon the ground. Kitana throws the bag to starts to spin and a vaguely transparent SCORPION suddenly appears.

SCORPION: Kitana... you dare summon me?

Kitana takes gaurd ever so slightly.

KITANA: You should be so lucky to get visitors at all Scorpion. Last time we met... you kidnapped me.

SCORPION: Why have you awakened me?

KITANA: It has been almost 20 years since your demise. As well as the demise of your enemies.

They slowly begin to pace in a rotating manner, glaring at eachother with darkness.

SCORPION: And you disturb me for this?

KITANA: I normally would not, but Earth realm needs your help...

Scorpion looks at Kitana intensely.

SCORPION: Why should I give a damn about the people of Earth realm?

KITANA: Because there is one who you despise that still walks among them. A former Lin Kuei warrior. He's under the control of a Shadow Priest. Goes by the name of Noob Saibot... It is Sub-zero.

SCORPION: YOU LIE...

KITANA: Do I? The Earth realm warriors cannot fight this battle alone... Join us Scorpion, and claim your freedom.

SCORPION: That is not possible. We both know that whoever frees me from my prison, must take my place.

KITANA: I have lived for over 10 thousand years Scorpion. Yet I have gained nothing, and have lost everything. My time here is done...

SCORPION: Then we have a deal princess?

Kitana picks the relic up from the ground.

KITANA: This is a Komidogu, a sacred relic. It will give you your freedom hellspawn. Once the final battle is over you will return to your human state.

SCORPION: It is done.

They shake hands and there is a blast of light energy, allowing Scorpion to step into our physical plain of existence.

Not bad. Cant wait

Don't be suprised if Darrius is NOT in the final cut of the film. This was a cameo appearance fight scene that we shot the other day. LOL mostly out of boredom and for DVD bonus material purposes. I'm filming live action "Bio Cards" for easter eggs/special features (Darrius, Jade, and Kai).

The characterization of Kitana and Scorpion are flawless, based on that tiny preview alone. Now let's see some more footage :D

I'm so tempted to release footage lol but at the same time I have a duty to keep things low profile. Maybe I'll release clip this week.

TONY VEGA got brutal in a little fight scene a few days afo. and we are finishing up our Noob vs Scorpion fight scene in the next two weeks!

I'm quite excited to see this myself. I haven't really seen that many good MK fan films. Most things seem to be just a couple people pretending to fight with the Mortal Kombat movie theme playing too loud.
I'm really impressed with the outfits and such, especially for no budget. I know what that's like, I'm just getting the outfits upgraded now for Komedy.
It looks like its gonna turn out great!

Do you guys think Kai would be a good replacement character for Bo Rai Cho since I cant find an Asian actor?

Bo Rai Cho was going to play the "mentor" character. However since Kai trained along side Lui Kang in the games storyline according to MK4, do you think Kai could play a mentor for the next generation fighters?

actually the idea seems a little "rushed".
however Bo' rai Cho borned in outworld,and for what i know there isn't a single outworldian with asian appearance(look at reiko,kitana,jade,sindel,rain,etc).
it seems that bo' rai cho isn't a asian,instead of liu kang and kung lao.

however Kai is better than nothing.
i suggest you to do not use the same guy who made Darrius and noob,because he haven't the face as "mentor",he looks too young.
i suggest you a guy with the same age of Stryker actor.

PS: Darrius and Noob are played by two different actors. Kai would be as well.

hmm the choice seems pretty difficult.
both actors are good for bo'rai cho,and also kenshi one is pretty cool.
i think that kai doesn't fit the role of "mentor".
so isuggest you to give more importance to Kenshi and let him have at least a one on one fighting scene.

and for what i know Kai isn't a fan favourite character.
