Dude...I have to agree with you. But ....I do think youre talking to a brick wall here. The producers don't come in here and check what everyone is complaining about, they don't care about fans, and what fans would like to see. This is Hollywood. I do hope they will make the movie someday, and i'll go see it, but my expectations are way low, even lower than Jurassic Pork 3 when it came out.

If they were really enthousiastic about making it, it would have been made allready, all this crap about hurricane Katrina...There are more locations on this Earth to shoot a movie. To this shows me that they really do not care for this movie.

I'll play a little here. While I do agree with the cat and mouse bullsht between fan and producer, I had a thought about a remedy for this kind of situation. Survey. One maybe tied to a site they actually do pay attension to, email, whateva. Shot in the dark still right?

i must say i wud have to agree with you as a major mk fan ive seen all films and im finaly like yey its comin out soon then they delay it so realy im pritty much p***ed off with them and i think the producers should listen to the fans if that happend mabye mk anihlation would have been better

Well I do believe that the movie will be made SOMEDAY, but now I’m fully convinced (instead of having just a feeling) that the movie would be like a B or C list film.
The fact that Threshold is not making MK3 there first priority as far as movie projects concern, is because THEY don’t believe MK has blockbuster potential.
heck...hopefully it’s good enough for the fans.

Fans are the hardest crowd to please.
It will never happen, fans know to much about caracters and story, and have very high expectations because they know that much.

If you haven't noticed, videogame-based-movies never turn out to be exactly like what they're based off of. It's the sad truth. Unless Ed Boon himself produces a Mortal Kombat movie, we're not gonna see everything to want to see. Honestly, most producers are doing the movie not for the hardcore fans, but because it's a big-name game that will make big money for them, even if it's a flop. Another sad truth. They're not doing it for us. They're doing it to put the green in their pocket.

I've developed the mentality of going into a movie based on a video game, having the lowest expectations possible, rather than having them exceedingly high. That way, I'm able to be happier when I do see things that coincide with the games, rather than picking out everything that didn't and getting all pissed or depressed.

Yeap, I'll have that same mentality when MKD comes out.

That's something good to carry to any film, but all of you are right though. And on the same token, Boon doesn't have time to produce with everything else MK going on. But what happens when they stop thinkin about the buck so much and actually do pay attension to what the fans of the game want. They might make more money because it was so closley related to the game and plot. Rave factor. Kinda like The Lord of the Rings or Narnia. They stuck with the story all the way through and got a huge response. Word of mouth and when the movie stayed true to the books or story, they got reecouring customers and so on. All I'm sayin is, can we get the same respect as game fans?

I think why they don't put Game influenced movies up front is a product of their own doing. If We don't like it, we're not going to send our friends and shit to see somethin We think is bullshit. Do the damn thing right, and you will make the money yur lookin for. That's why I suggested a survey of some kind, find out what we want generally and then ellaborate on that in the movie. Make the thing a 100 questions, I'm sure most of us would be happy to waist Valuable time filling it out just to make Our movie... The Shit!!
Is it a bad idea or somthin?? The worst that would happen is they would have a general understanding of our gerneral wants in the film.
Boon wouldn't have to produce, all he'd have to do is let em read the fans demands. I wouldn't be but a few web pages. And we would all be at least generally, satisfied. How do you do it without the fans demands anyway? Isn't that what it's about in the first place? Fuck a dolla. Generally speaking.
