Smoke was different as a cyborg and as a human, he's nothing of value. The 'enenra' isn't much..
MKDeception even reveals he was evolving into something more.
One of the messages in Konquest mode was, 'Smoke's nanotechnology is changing his being.'
But that was thrown away with the idea of this rebbot.

Honestly, I think people should just stick with one and get over it. I know everyone is upset with how he looks in this game, but really, Smoke is Smoke in my opinion.
Want a full blown cyborg that has lost his humanity and gone completely berserk? You have Sektor.
Want a heroic cyborg that still wants to be attached to his humanity and some how manage a human/cyborg hybrid? That will be Cyrax soon enough.
Let Smoke be something different.

I have to disagree with you on this one. cyber smoke was the lin kuei's bitch, then shao kahn's trophy, and finally noob's bitch
human smoke (this timeline) was killed as a kid, came back as a demon, and evaded being captured by the lin kuei. he fought as a good guy during mk2 and 3, but was killed along with everyone else by sindel. he became quan chi's bitch along with everyone else.
not sure how human smoke is worse story-wise. it might be because I'm a human smoke fan, but he's WAY worse off as (insert name here)'s bitch than he is as a human with great hair imo

Heeeeeelllll no.
The Enenra angle is a gigantic improvement for him. As a Cyber-Demon/Wraith/whatever Noob made him into, he had no free will and had not advanced in terms of character since his debut. He went from being a robot who was forced to take orders, to a robot-demon who was forced to take orders.
The Enenra angle maintains the supernatural aspect of his transformation with the added bonus of the fact that it is something he's always been; it's his nature, not something forced on him, and he has to come to terms with it. He can still fight against his own nature, not deprived of free will at all - that's the beauty of it.
Smoke's better in this game than he ever was.

My opinion: [Human]Ninja Smoke can only do so much without feeling tacked on. This whole enenra angle is useful only for a short while before it gets redundant.
As a Cyborg, he actually gained depth as a tragic character, and you can feel for him not being able to restore his humanity, all the while gining a refreshing twist by evolving into a CyberDemon.
But being a CyberSmoke fan makes me a little biased, and I hate his hair....

*Hugs*
Anyways....I sincerely hope they just give Smoke a classic Cyber skin and call it a day, that way he's non-canon and Cyber Smoke fans have an option and hey, Cyber Smoke can be made from the Sektor and Cyrax skins

Fair enough. I still don't find it all that great, but I feel Smoke was better as a more tragic character being forced against his will time and time again.
But I still disagree with that last statement...

I'm not trolling, I actually like art lean. he was my favorite part of the first mk movie. now lady in purple is defenitley trolling, almost as bad as noobsmoke_MK

Am I the only one who find Art Lean insignificant and redundant? Am I the only one who never wants to see him appear in the games?

At least the Lady In Purple's one fan would be pleased. *eyes rolled*
I still want mah Cyborg in Purple first.

Just decided, Lady In Purple's name is Straps, or Splappa.

No, I don't want to see him appear either, it's part of why I included him with "the Lady in Purple" another irrelevant background character. Art Lean literally only appeared in the movies.Am I the only one who find Art Lean insignificant and redundant? Am I the only one who never wants to see him appear in the games?

Straps, or Splappa.
... Please explain to me why these names keep returning?

Urban Dictionary says...
Splappa.
1. A long range shot made in basketball
2. Nickname for University of Miami(FL) guard Jack McClinton
"Did you see Ellington last night? He was just splappa splappa splappa all night"
"Jack 'Splappa' McClinton is just nailing his shots today"
...
Yeeeeaah, that's just weird...

He's this minor character from the first movie who gets massacred by Goro and he chatted with Johnny Cage once in the movie and for some reason Sonya was attached to him and screamed during his death, yet they never spoke in the movie

You're entitled to. But keep in mind that this game has given Smoke a name, a history, unique moves, and an origin. Prior to this, he was literally "Sub-Zero's friend who got changed against his will." Honestly, I felt sorrier for Reptile. He just kept going from one employer who takes advantage of him to the next, and is just too dumb to know differently.
There was never really that much tragedy to Smoke's story on his side IMO - because we never knew a thing about the guy until now. Being turned into a robot against one's will is awful, certainly, but remember that it happened to Cyrax as well. A large part of the tragedy of the story comes from the fact that Sub-Zero loses a friend - it works more for Sub's character; Smoke was really more of a living plot device up until now.
Anyway, one can always take the facts this game has given us about Smoke and apply it to the old canon; that way his own story gets a real, personal element of tragedy. This game's revealed that, as a child, he was sacrificed in a ritual. Compound that to his amnesia, ignorance of his new existence as an Enenra, then add the cyber conversion process and you've got one severely screwed up guy who never had a chance at discovering who he really was.
Also, Art Lean is as much a viable character as those random dudes in Braveheart armor behind Kahn in MK Annihilation (that is to say, not at all). Seriously folks, why is nobody asking for Chan Kang? Or did I miss that boat?

I want art because he WAS only in one movie. he could be turned into a completley original and exciting character. plus mk needs more interesting good guys now that most of them are dead. and with raiden changing the timeline, art could survive the first tournament and fight against outworld during the invasion.

Wouldn't mind seeing this version of Smoke.

:sigh: why want him as a robot? why not just leave him the way he is?
