Human Cyrax and Sector will probably have slightly different movesets. Think Falco Wolf and Fox in Super Smash Bros brawl, or Ness and Lucas, or Ganondorf and Captain Falcon.

The reason i believe this is

trust me, they'll have the same moves and gameplay. they're alt costumes: the only difference is VISUAL. anything else would be a different character

Who knows, maybe, maybe not... thats one of the secrets....

A) He looks like Shang Tsung, which sucks.
B) When I hear SEKTOR I don't think of any asian man... I think of somebody American or Caucasian. The name Sektor is very wrong for somebody asian... Sektor should be non-asian in my opinion just for his name-sake.

As long as the timing and hitboxes of their moves stay the same, it doesn't matter what the animation of them performing the move actually looks like.

So as long as human Cyrax takes the exact same amount of time to throw a bomb from his belt as robot Cyrax takes to launch it from his chest and they both occupy the same hitboxes during it, it won't matter.
(Note that hitbox data is separate from the model you are actually seeing, but for visual reference it would be best if they still filled the same hitbox as closely as possible).

Also, since this confirms that alternate costumes can have different voices/intros/animations, hopefully robot Smoke will just be a DLC costume for regular Smoke instead of taking up a DLC character slot.

I'm 100% in awe at the moment. I have always loved the fact that Cyrax was African-American. I've always loved him since MK3 this is beyond dope! I just hope that these models are actually playable! Also love Sektor's look as well!

These comments about looking like Shang Tsung beings me back to whites saying blacks all look the same and blacks saying whites all look the same. Which is completely untrue.

Hes asian, has a ponytail and facial hair and a rather similar facial structure with a narrow lower face, just like Tsung. Could they have maybe givin him short hair to set him apart? some frost-like spikey black hair wouldn't go astray.

Sure they could have tried to implement some change. But im not about to complain. He looks amazing. And its exactly what I expected from an asian warrior of that area and time period.

100% happy as a Sektor fan. And that matters more than a passer by's opinion who wont ever pay second attention after this thread.

I think you're making too much of this. Its not racism since...well...they are cartoons not real people. He looks like shang because he has the exact same hair style, same color scheme and similar body type (as many characters seem to) These rendered polygons don't share real human's inherent uniqueness so just because they gave him slightly asian features doesn't mean people are saying all asians look the same.

Its meant in a way that changes from situation to situation. Lets (for arguments sake) say your a Smoke fan. I don't believe my opinion would matter on that subject when one of any number of parties are approaching that situation as a fan of that character.

If we are talking about somebody you devote hour upon hour towards in every game. Clearly I would take your opinion over my own(ask Shadaloo). And your opinion is the one that should (in most cases) be payed attention to by the team as long as it makes sense to the canon.

Woah lets back up there. I NEVER said racism. Its a matter of perception. Which is clearly almost unanimous. And read the posts, they ARE saying they look the same. That's exactly what started this. But in the land of vidyagame technalagy, the developers of a game can make any face different from others. So there's no reason Sektor should look like Shang. The least they could do is change up the hair and stuff, but they have no excuse.

I'm a Jade fan, but that doesn't mean my opinion has more value than someone who never uses Jade in any game or outright dislike Jade. Every opinion is of equal importance. It's how you present it that matters.

I can tell more about Jade than someone who haven't played as her or haven't bothered to look up her background, so the information I can provide is what affects my opinion about her. So when it comes to facts and information about Jade, I can probably state some things that are alot more accurate than someone who aren't a Jade fan.

But that's only accounting factual information. Opinions aren't factual.

And facts are, Human Sektor and Shang Tsung indeed have alot in common when it comes to looks. The hairstyle, facial hair, the asian features, even the outfit resembles eachother a bit. Someone who didn't know this is Sektor might mistake him for Shang Tsung because of their resemblence.

I'm glad that you're happy with Sektor's look though, Casselman. But please, don't put your opinion higher than someone else's, just because you're a fan.
