Running late to the party but I just tweeted him. Said I loved Rain in Armageddon and that Shinnok and Kenshi would be awesome. Tanya I could take or leave, I was never huge into her, but there are worse characters to pick.

Shouldn't cyborg Smoke just be an alt costume though? I personally liked Smoke more as a cyborg but I don't want two frickin Smokes running around again when he could just have a cyborg alt costume

I'm only interested in Rain and Tanya.

It saddens me that Rain isn't part of the main roster, as he is one of the characters of the original trilogy, so he should definately be a downloadable character. It's the least they can do.

Tanya has always been an interesting character to me. I loved her main outfit in MKD and the tonfa blades she was given were very cool. She strikes me as a sorceress rather than a warrior, utilizing flames into her moves to do more damage to balance out her lack of strength. And I love the cannon drill move! Cammy from the Street Fighter series is another favourite of mine, so that Tanya has a move like hers makes her that bit more attractive. So I'd like to see her as a DLC as well.

Cyber Smoke could easily be an alternate costume. No reason to waste a spot on him. A new character would be utterly pointless.

1. Rain

My actual first choice,considering that he well deserved to be in this game in the first place,and I'm fucking pissed that there is even a possibility of him being considered for DLC.

2. Cyber Smoke.

Same reason. The fact that he is even considered for DLC worries me. It worries me a lot,actually,because it implies that there is a chance he won't be cyberized this time. How the fuck they hope to do justice to the MK3 segment of the storyline without Smoke's cyberization is beyond me. The only reason he has lower priority than Rain is because at the very least we know that his human form made the cut.

3. Shinnok.

I really,really like Shinnok. And I really want to finally see him be awesome,because he completely blew his MK4 debut,and his reputation has never fully recovered since. He's the fucking fallen Elder God! By all accounts,he should've been the most powerful,menacing boss in MK history. Instead,he was a total joke (except for his fatalities,which were just marvelous). I know that the first 3 games are Shao Kahn's turf,but throughout the game,I want to see subtle hints that Shinnok is looming in the background,watching and scheming. Considering that Quan Chi made it in,I'm pretty sure his involvement will be a lot more felt.

The only problem is that having him as DLC implies he'd be a regular playable character. I want him to be a proper boss,a cheating bitch who is insanely deadly and nearly unstoppable. I want him to be the Rugal of MK - someone whose appearance is not as physically imposing as Kahn's or any of the other traditional MK bosses,but who can nonetheless do retarded shit in battle like teleport all over the place,kick your ass lightning-fast without really using his hands and summon hellspawns from the deepest reaches of the NetherRealm. He'd make a perfect super-secret boss.

4. Kenshi.

Kenshi was my main in the post-MK4 games,so naturally,I fucking love the guy. However,a good point was raised here earlier - he hasn't met Ermac yet,which means he doesn't yet have a moveset to speak of. There's only so much you can do with just a sword. I wouldn't mind seeing a cameo of him arriving to the harbor only to just miss the Nethership,which ultimately allows Shang to put Sonya in the tournament in his place or something. But that's about all I want to see from him in this game. And keep in mind,this is coming from a massive Kenshifag.

5. Tanya.

I don't hate her in the slightest,but the other choices are just better. Plus,she really didn't do anything of note until her alliance with Shinnok.

6. New character.

Fuck that. We have plenty of characters already. Save it for the true new generation MK,the one that'll actually take place after the events of Armageddon.

I think shinnok deserves a second chance to, but do you want him to be mk mythologies hard or tougher?

That would be a pretty cool detail.

Not that I believe in this but I don't care for any of those characters mention anyway.

There was absolutely nothing productive or constructive about this post. At all.

That Ed Boon states that Cyborg Smoke is a potential DLC does not mean that Human Smoke will be in the game. However, there's still a chance that he is. It is curious that Boon calls him Cyborg Smoke and not just Smoke, so it could be a hint to the fact that Smoke might appear in the game in his human form.

I would prefer if they just kept it between outfits, so his alternate outfit would be his other form. And Smoke stopped being a Scorpion clone in MKD-MKA. It would be nice to see him utilize his chosen element in a more diverse way that makes him a more unique character.

I dont care as long as RAIN is in it!!

This is a pretty crappy list to choose from... and if he is listing cyber smoke then its obvious human smoke is already in the damn game........ he was an MK2 character for crying out loud, and MK2 was the best EVER.

From most wanted to least out of his list given...

1. New Character- As long as it is NOT another exclusive to console character. How about a white attired ninja since we have every other colored ninja? White is about the only color not used yet and it would make up for the missing rainbow ninja Chameleon. It would also bring back traditional nostalgic color swapping to full circle.

2. Cyborg Smoke- honestly I really think this should be an alt but if it is not possible than he deserves spot #2.

3. Tanya- Honestly I do not care for her much but in classic MK games the variety of female fighters was lacking so she gets third spot just for gender on my list.

4. Rain- I want the old color swapped ninja Rain as an alt.

5.Shinnok- I really want to put him higher on this list but with not knowing how far the story goes I really think he should sit out until the next game.

6. Kenshi- We have Ermac so I think its better he follows up in the next game.

I really hope this is just a joke. Why limit our choices to those characters? Why can't we have a poll featuring all of the other characters?

Also, I really hope Rain is the starting roster, although this tweet and his statue in the background of Tsung's Garden arena don't say so. That sucks, especially since Kratos is definitely in the game. Kratos makes it, but Rain doesn't... Lovely... Again, I hope that tweet is a joke.

Finally, unless I'm able to vote for Fujin as DLC, I refuse to vote.

New character? Come on. We all know new characters suck ever since MKD (cept for Kira in her alt).

MK4 characters I'd like to see - just Fujin.

MKDA - Frost, Nitara

MKD - None except for Kira if she gets her alt.

I'm guessing those were the choices based on storyline possibilities and popularity of characters close to that era. The ones chosen could all fit into that time period without contradicting what we already know about the character. So it makes sense to keep things limited instead of opening up every character as a possibility. Not sure why Fujin isn't a possibility though, but I am guessing they don't think he'd sell well enough. However, keep in mind that they have to save characters for future games and storylines, so obviously certain people can't be an option.

I'm pretty sure he'd sell better than Shinnok (who I actually like). Maybe they are equal in terms of being someone's favorite, but Shinnok is definitely more hated of the two, mainly because he was the worst boss ever (MK4). I've hardly seen any hate for Fujin (if any at all), but I've seen quite a few MK fans hating on Shinnok... So yeah, if they think Fujin wouldn't sell as well, I'd say they are wrong.

Besides, Fujin would make a great tag-team partner with Raiden. True, Shinnok would also work well as Raiden's tag partner (since he's got past with Raiden, pre-MK1 era).




That doesn't make me feel any better considering how they ignored Fujin for MKDA and MKD...

Anyway, I just want a fair poll where everyone has a chance. In that case if Fujin doesn't make it, at least I'll be calm knowing that he was at least given a chance.

Great news, I hope he is serious about this. It is a good thing to give us a vote in DLC. I think it's safe to say that Rain is not in this game because he is on the list. And Quan Chi is not on this list so I think this back up him being in this game.

I don't see the point of having two character slots for just one character, so robo Smoke is my least favourite. Tanya is high on my list because this game could use another female character. As long as she is completly revamped. Kenshi is my number one choice. It would be fun to see him fight in 2D and in the MK1-3 era.

I agree with T-Rex when it comes to Shinnok. They REALLY need to give him a second chance. Ditch the horrible costume and the Shang Tsung morphing and give him powers fit a fallen Elder God and not just skeleton hands from the ground or whatever.

Of course, I also agree with TheManWithTheGoldenGun when it comes to Nitara. I'd love to see her in this game too, even if, story-wise, it might not make that much sense. At least Ed agrees that she has a lot of untapped potential.

So along those lines, here is my list of characters that I'd love to see as DLC:

6. Nitara (I only put her this low on the list because I can't imagaine a scenario where she'd fit well in to this storyline. Still, she has a lot of potential and I'd love to see what kind of moves they could dream up for her!)

5. Bo Rai Cho (Personally, I think that he needs some redemption. He moved awkwardly and had moves that essentially mocked the awesomeness of drunken kung fu. He could be very cool if done right).

4. Kira (I know, most people hate her. But I'd love to see her get a real set of moves and see her in this time period leading up to what she eventually became. Lot's of untapped potential).

3. Sareena (She fits in to so many moving parts in the plotlines, it would be great to see her as a fully realized character and not the abreviated Armageddon character she was).

2. Fujin (Talk about a criminally underused character. He's a god, so I could see alternate events forcing him in to action in this game. Plus it would be cool to see what other types of wind powers they could come up with.)

1. Mavado (Sadly, he was taken before his time. Given Deadly Alliances small number of special moves, I really think that he got robbed of a real chance to connect with fans. Give him chains instead of bands and have him use them to zoom all over the arena, wrapping his opponent in them, etc, honestly, I think that he has a TON of potential).
