Tanya Tanya Tanya!!
It'd be awesome to see how she ties into the events of the first three games. Was she an assassin with Kitana and all them, or a refugee, etc.
Loads of potential. Give us something different. Don't just rehash MKT...

I know he is THAT awesome, and i'm a fan of Smoke, but i don't really think we need two Smokes.

Yeah, that's the way I took it. He usually makes subtle hints and obviousjokes when he's just kidding around. this time, he sounded genuine. He made it seem like he was just throwing out our options, and wanted feedback on what the fans preferred out of those choices. Plain and simple. The choices he made make sense in terms of storyline possibility and popularity surrounded the timeframe in mind, so it seems logical and serious. Seeing as we are the ones paying for it, and them most likely wanting to see the DLC bought up rather than wasted opportunity, he wants to know what we the fans would buy and which we want most. Makes sense...
If this is truly sincere, it also goes as far as to pretty much confirm the rest of the characters that will be included. Kano, Baraka, Kabal, Stryker, Noob Saibot, Smoke, Liu, Raiden, and seemingly Quan Chi is the sound clip is to be believed. The only one who's still on the fence is Sheeva, and since they didn't include her as an option, that either means she's in the game, or they no longer wish to have her implemented as part of the series for one reason or another. When you look at the roster as a whole, fans should be estatic. With the possibility of any remainders catching the few DLC spots, nobody should be upset that so and so didn't make the actual game. The only person up in the air and completely unheard of, is Sareena.

I doubt he would be allowed to run off the handle like that.
He knows what we know and what we are thinking. He knew wed pick out that Sheeva wasnt liste, he knew wed pick out that Rain Was listed, he knows alot of people want new characters, he knows the smoke debate. He knows weve pondered Kenshi with the timeline.
not buyin it. after being tight lipped the whole time. its a tease.

I agree on the level of functionality, but I don't think they need to toss the concepts behind the moves. I've been pitching forever now that the trident should be a command grab.
As for the teleport uppercut (and I know I'm going to get flak for this), but it belongs just as much to Smoke as it does Sektor. The first reason being is that they technically received the move simultaneously. Second of all, it conceptually makes sense. Smoke transports via nano-technology, and Sektor... um... enters the Matrix? Finally, it makes sense from a story perspective: Sektor and Smoke were automated by the same guys. It makes sense they'd share certain properties.
And that final bit goes for any instance really. As long as there's an explanation story-wise, I don't mind things like Ken/Ryu's hadouken, or Ermac/Kenshi's telekensis.

If he were in the final build as a non-DLC character, I'd agree. As DLC though, I wouldn't mind seeing a second Smoke, or even a second Sektor or second Cyrax.

This is the best timing, too. With the leak out in the open, he's got nothing to lose. Still don't know what to think of Sheeva, though. Since Goro has been confirmed unplayable, I think Sheeva's chances have gone up. People are gonna want a playable Shokan.

Notice how he didn't list Sareena. I wonder if that means anything.
Storyline wise:
- Kenshi
- Shinnok
- Tanya
- Robo-Smoke
All make sense in my book, and one form as DLC doesn't bother me. A new character would be nice, especially if its a female.

Noob Still has hope!
1) Kenshi
2) Rain
3) New Character
4) Shinnok
5) Cyborg Smoke
6) Tanya
In my opinion, and many others opinion as well, Kenshi is the best post MK4 character, and he deserves a story in the MK1-3 timeline.
I feel Rain should be included in the game from the start, but I knew he wouldn't be, so this comes as no surprise. Not putting him as DLC, however, would be blasphemy.
A new character could give room for them to make a past rumor into a present fighter, as they previously stated they may do.
I like Shinnok, and would like to see him in future MKs, but I don't care so much to see him in this game. Doesn't really fit in the story, and I feel if they put him in, the story may become too clustered.
Never really cared for Cyborg Smoke, so I don't care to see him now.
I don't like Tanya at all and would prefer to never see her again.

Gathering data from fans for the sake of a straight-up lie? When has he ever done anything remotely like that?
I told him Rain but in his purple ninja costumes but with lightning not a water blast because his name is rain not river. I also told him bosses with fatalities and that shang has to be playable because the GI interview makes him sound like he's a boss only. As far as DLC I'd like to see a unique new character, someone of a polynesian background modeled after the guy that plays Crixus on the show Spartacus: Blood and Sand or kind of similar to him, an athletic polynesian guy with short hair and no tats or not a ton of them and give him a nice looking arena too.

Rain first and foremost. I'm pretty pissed he's even being considered for DLC, he should have been in the game from the start.
I could care less about the others. It would be cool to see Tanya again I guess. So Rain and Tanya.

Haven't played any "reindeer games" in a while so..
1. Kenshi
2. Cyborg Smoke
3. Rain
4. New character
5. Shinnok
6. Tanya
Although, this is an odd selection to organize for me in the first place. Kenshi's likely the most popular, followed by Cyborg Smoke. I haven't the foggiest why anyone likes Tanya, and then Shinnok fails all over everything. A new character doesn't seem like they'd even fit in this game to begin with. I like what they did with Rain but, would those improvements be too late, or too early for this games' time frame?
I think if he's serious about wanting the fans take on something like this, they're simply trying to eliminate the bottom 2 or 3. Leaving the top 2 - 4 as DLC choices. Aside from Kenshi I'm sure, the rest of these characters are C or D list characters.
I'm more interested in a new character than I am Shinnok or Tanya. They could almost scrap those two entirely and I wouldn't really care. Reason Rain is above the new character is because I like where they were going with his moves, and story wise. Same thing with Smoke... but Smoke weighs more on the story than Rain I think. Kenshi is on top because he's the deviation from most other character concepts on the roster while still remaining to be a really cool character concept, story concept, and has a good pool to tap into for more new moves.

I have a few questions regarding DLC characters.
-Are the characters going to be from that time or will they be the versions from the modern times?
-Will they be relevant to the story or are they there only for gameplay?
Kenshi had not learnt telekinesis from Ermac yet. It'd be a good opportunity to give him some completely unique moves. If he's got the telekinetic moves I wouldn't like to see him.
Cyborg smoke would be good as many want him and many want human smoke through DLC we can have both. Hopefully all his moves wouldn't be exact copies of the human version. Unique moves for both, with a few in common.
If they're going to continue the story to MK4 then I don't want Shinnok. However if they aren't he'd be an okay addition. He doesn't have many moves though so it'd almost be a reboot of him in gameplay.
Tanya could work but I'm not a fan of her. Besides being a deceptive character she doesn't add much. Her gameplay is average.
A new character would be exciting and fresh but their are many characters from MK4-MK:D that could take the place. MK has a history of making some bad new characters to get only few good new characters. So it could be a bad move.
Rain is a shoe in. His fanbase has grown alot with his appearance in MKA. He is relevant to the story and from the time. I see no reason why he couldn't be good DLC.
If from that time and relevant to the story-
1.Kenshi
2.Rain
3.Cyborg Smoke
4.New Character
5.Tanya
6.Shinnok
If not from the time, not releavant to the story and only for gameplay-

Cyber Smoke and nobody else from that list.
The trident could and should be brought back, I think there's a hell a lot of innovation to be brought to that move.
