Ruby is a POS Jade ripoff in DOTR. Skarlett was the rumored one. It's definitely not Ruby.

Entitlement based on X appearance is just not the only thing that should be considered when deciding who shows up. You have to consider how badly they're wanted, too. I find it understandable that Rain's DLC, because - like it or not - he doesn't have anywhere near the fanbase a lot of the rest of the cast do. Truth is, I generally see more Kenshi fans than I do Rain fans, and I don't see too many Kintaro fans apart from myself either. DLC's a good place to put those guys you're not sure would sell the game, or you'd feel comfy taking a chance with, if you think there's some profit to be made by 'em.

If what they did with Kintaro was make him part of the game's code already, part of story and all, and just offer him up as playable for an extra sum - well, good. Those who don't like playing as bosses don't have to play as him. Still wondering about bosses and online, I won't lie, but we'll see what develops.

A brand new character based on an old rumor, someone arguably not entitled to appear based on mythic/non-existent status? Also a great DLC candidate. Gauge overall interest based on downloads, let the numbers speak for themselves, whatever they may be.

A fan favorite with the supportive numbers who arguably shouldn't be present over classics due to not fitting into the timeframe? Hell yes, perfect DLC candidate.

And a character with old-school classic appeal but without a huge fanbase? Hell yes, another prime selection for the DLC slot. I'd say the same if it were Stryker (who I actually think has a lot more support nowadays, though) or Sheeva.

Rain'll be along soon. Count on it.

That's an interesting thought. It could be true. I'm not getting my hopes up, but you do have to wonder why It's a possibility.

I never could understand why the TV shows couldn't just bring in Jade ffs. DOTR used that fucking "Ruby" and MK Conquest used "Qali" who wore "purple" instead of green.

Qali had been best friends with Princess Kitana for many years. According to Shao Khan, Qali and Kitana had trained together as fighters. Prior to Shao Khan's successful conquest of Edenia, Qali's family (with the likes of her brother) were slain by Shao Khan's army. Qali had seemingly remained “loyal” to Shao Khan, as well as her friend Kitana who planned to bring hope in the process of restoring Edenia.

That doesn't sound like Jade at all.

I considered this as well.

Maybe the fact that so many people have written about how pissed they are about Rain's seclusion and a bunch of people have stated they do not want playable boss characters has made NRS change a few things.

That's very true but it seems that holding completed content just so people can pay for it later is becoming the norm in gaming. Not a good look. Speaking in broad general terms.

Even if they are not ninjas, they are still masked guys dressed in a primary colour: Yellow, Blue, Green, Grey, Black, Red.
I hate Skarlette,because i think they should've never made her, or at least not the way she is right now because, once again, she is just another female rainbow ninja. It would've been ok back in MK3, but now there is no need to do that.
And i think i stated more than once than i do like Rain and i would like him to be in. I just think that Quan Chi and Kenshi are better choises for adding more diversity. Rain was one of the charachter's i used the most in MKT and MKA, and i think he would look and play great if added. But i see why other charachters that would add more to the game than he does.
I thought Rain was going to be the first DLC charachter anounced, and i would love him to be in the game from the beginning. And if he does i know i'll like him. So stop saying i'm bashing him because i never did. Instead you should try to see things from another perspective...

Well if Rain is in then I think it's time for NRS to just lay their cards out on the table. Time is almost up. Release gameplay trailers for Sheeva, Smoke, Rain, and call it a wrap. I know Sheeva fans are dying to see her in full HD and Smoke fans are dying to see how he truly looks.

Hell, Yokozuna was billed around 750, but Khali, Andre & Big Show are all billed right around 500 lbs... And they're about as big vertically and horizontally as a human being gets...

But yeah I don't think we can really know anything at this point until the game is out. The leaks are old and some things have obviously changed since they came out.

Boon just said there are still 5 characters to reveal. Kintaro and Lady in Red are obviously not 2 of them. So there's Smoke and Sheeva, the two "secret" characters and one more. Could be Shao Kahn if he ends up being playable from the start. Or could be Rain if they added him in. We'll just have to wait and see.

so no one thinks this is an april fools set up? doesn't the wording in the scans seem a little... odd? why call her the lady in red if she's just dlc then call her skarlett in her description, why would kintaro be dlc considering certain things? kenshi makes sense I guess, still kind of random.

It's way too much dude for some April Fool's joke. NRS takes time out of their BUSY schedule to make up 3 AWESOME renders, put them in a magazine, get their fans' hopes up, and then reveal it all to be a joke? I'm sure NRS ain't going to want to piss off fans this close to release. And what magazine would agree to something like that? Possibly losing credibility. Un uh, I don't buy it. Not only is it too much, but it's unprofessional imo.
