01. I don't think the Lady in Red = Kira argument is that silly. Imagine if events play out differently and she doesn't spend her life studying Kano and Sonya's fighting styles. Nobody knows how old she was during MK:D. They sure as hell have no problem putting her in the background of MK2011.

02. DLC. Stop feeling so cheated. Be happy that there are more options. They are not selling incomplete, broken gameplay to you. You are getting a full game worth $60. If bonus costumes, fatalities, characters, etc. are worth the extra cash to you, then buy it. If not then don't. But I understand. Since you do not want to pay money for bonus content, you will just bitch as loud as possible that everything in the world doesn't come free.

I'm surprised that you say you would feel this way if any other MK charachter that came before MK4 was not in but you never mentioned Motaro in your post...

Anyway, i'm pretty surprised Rain is not DLC and the Lady in Red is. I tought Rain would be the first one. Perhaps he'll be in game?

ON TOPIC: rain better make it one way or another!

I very much feel that Rain should be among the first of the DLC, but I'm overly-joyed that Kenshi is gonna be in. There is only two post MK3 characters that I feel should be in this game, and now they are both in it. I'm happy.

I hope to see Rain eventually though.

To everyone mad about Motaro not being in.

You have to understand how EXTREMELY difficult it would be for NRS to program Motaro in. He would be unlike any other character in the game with his 4 legs. Just think about it. In Nightwolf's x-ray he would need to jump on Motaro's back like a horse to hit him with those tomahawks.

The lack of Motaro if most likely due to technological limitations. Especially since nobody wants to see Minotauro (Not the Nogueria brother) back. Not to mention he was a boss character (and should only ever be that) so shafting him isnt as big as a snub as getting rid of Rain.

Rain is the only MK1-UMK3 playable character, with a legitimate background story, not to be in.

Now Rain is not my favorite character, I like him, but hes not in my top. But it seems a bit unfair to Rain fans. If they did not specify that it would be guys from 1-3 it would not be that bad...since Havik/Tanya/Bo RaiCho/Shinnok/Etc. fans could jump on the boat of disappointment. But at this point...Rain is the only eligible character to not be in the game. With that prior knowledge of characters in 1-3 only, that leaves EVERYONE happy but the Rain fans. Thats why a sympathize with them.

Its not like Deception. There were no qualifications for who was to be in, so when Reptile (my favorite character) didnt make the cut, I was dissapointed, but I understood since plenty of guys didn't get in either. But Rain fans need to deal with their boy being the only reject.

Thats why I feel Rain deserved the nod over Kenshi (since he was from DA) and Kintaro (since he is a boss, and bosses being playables a whole other ballgame). And for the record, I hate how The Lady in Reds even a character. She looks like more of a pallette swap than any other designs. But what are you gonna do?

PS: Still love the game and NRS. Not pissed off or demanding anything from them. Just pointing out the Rain fans have a valid reason to be upset.

Exactly. Very nice renders. I think It would be quite mean spirited if it was a joke and wouldn't show NRS in a good light, if you ask me. I would even go as far as saying it would be "unprofessional".

Jokingly telling fans "Hey, Drahmin, Darrius, and Meat will be DLC" on twitter is funny. But taking time out of your BUSY schedule to create 3 beautiful renders, publish them in a mag, get fans of those characters hopes up, to later reveal it ALL as a joke is in poor taste. Ooookay... i read a few pages(there is no damn way im reading through 20 pages) and i have yet to see someone say this. Did it ever maybe register to some of you folks that maybe this means that Rain is available in the main game now. The demo is an early build, maybe they replaced kintaro's shit with Rain's info in the main game now. Boon might be taking this as a good opportunity to psych out major rain fans like ProfesserAhnka.

As you stated, if this game didn't have any specific "qualifications" for it's roster, then I highly doubt you would hear a peep from any Rain fans at all. But since this is so heavily focused on the classic characters and just about every one of those classic characters have made it in with the exception of 1, then of course you're going to be having quite a bit of people demanding that one person to be in the game simply for completeness.

I know a lot of people are sitting back going "Where in the hell did all these Rain fans come from?" lol. I don't think even half the people who want Rain in are "fans", they just know what's fair and what's not. Same exact reason why 4 years ago when nearly everyone were throwing a fit over Khameleon, Meat, & Chameleon huge chances of not being in Armageddon. You said every character ever? About kintaro i dont give one for him or any boss (shao, motaro, goro) im sorry thats just me...im still glad they are (except motaro) in because of their fans.
And Kenshi, i like him and if quan-chi is in why not him, kenshi, quan-chi and tanya are in my opinion the best of post umk3.

Oh please, do not give me that "too many ninjas" crap. They're not even ninjas any more and even if they were I highly doubt "one" more is going to hurt you. Rain is a classic character and should be in over Quan Chi, Kenshi, Scarlette, and any other newer character. It doesn't matter if you think he's nothing but a "purple ninja". Besides, you shouldn't talk too much. Most people like to bash on a character but when they see how said character was given a drastic overhaul the next thing you know they're singing a different tune.
