Their heads are fucking hideous, Raiden being the worst offender. And what's up with his double shoulders? If I wind up with this thing I'm putting a shawl around it so I can pretend it's taking a cue from Christopher Lambert and I don't have to look at that shit.

The ninjas are okayish - Sub's eyes are horrid though. In terms of look, this is a slight step down from their MKSM figures (for the ninjas - Raiden and Johnny are just awful), but I can deal in their case because articulation is wonderful to see.

I hope they get their shit together for Sonya. I have a feeling her face will be horrible.

Oh well. That's the 6'' line, maybe the 4'' ones will be better. I'm holding out hope (that Cyber-ninja three-pack better look good).

Keep dunking your Kenshi breadsticks into your Skarlet sauce, people! The main course isn't coming for a while, and you never know when it's going to be disappointing.

I played owned Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 when I was in the 2nd grade.

>.>

That aside, if no one is going to buy any of these, there won't be a second series. I mean, yeah, I'd like quality products as much as the next person but....what products for this series exists anymore?

They should have went with Sota toys to make them. Sota's Street Fighter line was awesome [I was hugely disappointed when they gave the SF4 line to Neca and went back to Jazwares for new figures. Their old SF figures were terrible.]

The more I look at them the less I like them.

What a shame.

Why couldn't NECA take over and make some glorious and beautiful statues of MK like the series deserves?

You gotta take into account that action figures are meant to be played with by kids and twisted around. They need movement. In order to make them flexible by all means, they have to use generic parts to make the same figures and just change the paint on them. I would expect them to come out ugly and kids don't pay attention to detail anyways.

Now adults on the other hand, we do not want action figures we want STATUES. There is a difference. They are sculpted and aren't generic peices put together like the action figure. They are true peices of art. And to the poster above me, you can see the difference between action figures (which is his first pic) and statues (his goro pic).

The goro looks amazing and thats what we strive to collect of our favorite characters. However, the goro cannot move his arms, hands, legs etc, so its not really an action figure. Kids want their figures to move to play with them. Its a kid line of figures. Idk why everyone is so angry how they look.

When they release statues that look ugly, then we can complain. (although that retro scorpion sonya and subzero look amazing for movable figures in your first picture)

Understandable points.

But, my point remains valid.

Those pictures showing off those highly detailed and awesome MK Action Figures (Infinite Concepts) clearly prove that Action Figures don't "necessarily" have to look freaking ugly, poor, and bad as the new ones that will be released.

Hell, even the MKSM action figures were of great beauty and quality despite being made as toys. Just look a the wonderful quality of the characters!

And the most troubling thing is that they too were made by Jazwares, the company which made such awesome Johnny Cage but is now ruining him by making him look like a monkey on drugs:

Just look at those. Same company but soooo much better in quality, style, and design.

I'm so confused as to who would ever allow the new figures to go on the market. They are horrible. Horrendous.

They resemble more the first MKD line of toys (which were also ugly and weak), but, wave 2 (those Shaolin Monk toys) do look better. The MKD line was a billion times better than this new one though. Those looked passable. These just look like a joke.

Hopefully wave 2 of this line will improve.

I just want to say, as an adult, that I much prefer action figures to statues. You can pose action figures yourself however you like and they take up far less shelf-space.

I agree. Statues are not for everyone, a lot of people like super articulated figures. Besides we already had a Statue figure line made by Palisades and it only lasted 1 series.

These new figures are okay I guess. My problem with them is that they look like they are cartoonish looking. As if they were in Street Fighter or something

Sub Zero doesn't look that horrible. But Scorpion would benefit from a repaint. He's too plasticy looking. Johnny Cage looks like a damn chimpanzee. Raiden's head sculpt is bad but I can live with it. Its better than his previous Jazwares figure.

I hope Sonya isn't the San Diego Comic Con exclusive cause then she'll be almost impossible to buy probably. I am excited to see what she looks like though since the last Sonya figure was basically a statue.

Statues blow.

And to those worried about the SDCC exclusive, it's a ToysRUs SDCC exclusive, meaning that after SDCC, all remaining pieces will be available on TRU's website for retail price. It happened last year with the start of Jazwares Robot chicken line, and they were there for a while.

The article has a couple other things you should know. Sonya Blade is confirmed to be in the another series :)
Also, there is link in the article where you can submit the character you'd like to see as a figure. No sense in debating or judging the figures yet, MKO will probably delete this thread and make it there own. Until then, enjoy.
Raidens hat looks alittle akward but they look cool to me I already requested who I want on facebook can't wait for these.and Queve must be EXTREMLY exited for Sonya.\,,/furious\,,/

Those are awesome, I would buy them all if I had the money.

I do own a MKSM Reptile, but it was a gift.

Anyway, why don't you people wait to see the 4" series or the other figures, not to mention, they might be in that "prone to change" stage.

Also, this should be changed to the Official MK Action Figure thread, and stickied, just for when the rest are revealed.

Hey Vash,
Unless that SDCC exclusive blows our mind, there's nothing to worry about ;)
I hope it's something awesome, but I'm done giving my hopes up.
These toys shouldn't be marketed toward kids, what the hell are they thinking?

That's all fine and good, but god damn it, I have a Commando Spawn and Cyber Spawn set of action figures from like 1995 and they still look better than what's been being put out for these MK figures. I've got WoW action figures that look better than those. There's no excuse for having a shitty looking product, be it possible like an action figure or a sculpt like the Diablo 3 Barb by Sideshow.

I understand and agree completely. MK is a WB property now, why can't they get the DC Direct guys on this shit?

I just cant get over how bad these figures are, I thought WB would include the mortal kombat license under its DC direct brand, they make wonderful figures. What the hell happened here?.

These are god awful...SOTA wouldn't have been much better though. SOTA post Jerry Macaluso was and still is garbage as well. In this particular case I would have went NECA. Sure we probably wouldn't have gotten more than 2 waves (8 figures total) but they would have looked excellent and most likely we would have gotten at least 1 oddball character per wave instead of the usual schlock most companies do with their waves.

DC Direct would awesome. I have their GL line and some other various ones and they're great. It would piss off the collectors who believe action figures have to have 40+ points of articulation though.

Are you serious?

You can't possibly think those look as awful as the new ones we are currently seeing.

They might not be the nest action figures in the world, but, they are very good compared to most MK figures out there (excluding Infinite Concepts and maybe Palisades).

Just take a look and compare both Johnny Cage's and Sub-zero's. BIG difference in quality.

Oh, and that Kano looks fantastic. I owe all of those ones and they are amazing. Those close up pictures don't do them any justice.

I'm probably more annoyed at the thought of her action figure being as ugly, poor, weak, and horrible as all these 4 new ones we are getting.

I hope wave 2 steps up in quality and gives us MUCH BETTER figures just like they did with the MKSM line.

Except for mutant Cage, the action figures look decent. I seriously hope Jazwares decides to bring out a Kintaro figure, like they said they would the last time they brought out figures for the series.
