This thread hasn't had a constructive contribution since like page 2. The people who are "whining about whiners" may not add anything themselves, but they're RIGHT about the fact that the other side isn't adding anything, they're just ruining the thread's ability to be a place for genuine discussion about the subject at hand.

Because of the nature of fandoms on the internet I tend to studiously avoid them and I have advised my wife to do likewise (she gets really emotionally involved in her character defense).

I think talking about the screwed up hair IS a genuine discussion. Sure there have been other threads about it, but here it's been displayed yet again, in a game trailer, supposedly a professionally made work, and it looks like crap, 2 months before release.

Liu Kang looks good, his bicycle kick is different, it kinda of reminds me of Sonya's make it rain bicycle kicks( the downward ones in MKvDC).

OMG Johnny Cage's suit is so cheesy (it's PERFECT).

I like the cutscenes, it's nice to get a glimpse of story mode.

I don't see the issue with the voice acting of Liu and I rather enjoyed his little dialogue, reminded me of the first move.


The hair animations could be better, Sindel's should be much more managable since it's considerably shorter than Kitana's, I'm sure they'll improve both some more, I'm not worried about it.

The hair criticism did stem in the video. That was actually on topic.

I agree with you. It seems like every time a new video is released, people find something to complain about instead of discussing the new video. I do agree that the hair isn't perfect but this is not the thread to talk about it in.

I love the little details they are putting in this game. In goro's lair, you can hear the sound effects echoing and it sounds really good. I also like the sunrays in kahn's arena. In the other videos you can hear the moans and grunts when someone gets caught in cyrax's net. I love it when mileena laughs while she's fighting. Little things like that makes a good game better.

Wow! This is my favorite gameplay video yet, mostly because it shows a lot more of the story mode, and of course, my favorite character.

First of all, it looks like Liu Kang will still be going up against Shang Tsung at the end of the tournament, so that's a good sign. It also looks like it'll show him and the other characters meeting and interacting for the first time.

Sadly, it looks like some of the infamous cheesy dialogue from MKvsDC, judging by the way Liu Kang says "...In MorTal Kombat!" when he didn't really need to. The other cut scene looked better when he was telling Cage about how the tournament was about more than personal glory, which wasn't bad. Liu Kang also sounds like he did in MKvsDC which doesn't bother me much because the voice actor who played him sounded pretty good.

The trailer also shows secondary costumes which will really add to the story mode for me. It's more realistic that the characters aren't just runnung around in the same fighting costume all the time.

As for Liu Kang, his fighting style looks pretty good. I like the black sillhouette dragon fire, but I think it looked better when it gradually took the shape of a dragon. Maybe we'll see that move too. I'm not too sure about his specials, it looks like they just add fire to his kicks. I don't know what else they could've put there. I'm sad to see they still have the teleport like in his vignette, I think it would be better if he jumped over or sidestepped around the opponet, just so we don't have to see so many complaints about him teleporting. And for some reason his animated model looks way better than any of his still images for some reason. The only way I would like it more is if the hair was a bit shorter in the back. Now's the time to change the mullet look if there is one, since it's a fresh start.

All in all, they did a good job this time, and I hope to see much more whan april comes around.

I guess the character that I like and, off the top of my head, find the least faults with is Jade. I also like Shang Tsung, but have hated the way he's been portrayed since MK3.

Yes, I am new to posting about mortal kombat, though I've been playing since almost the beginning. I complain because I love the series and hate how they have screwed it up for so long. So the fact that they're doing at least lip service to going back to the way it was back when it was good makes me hopeful, but then to see them do stupid stuff like tube hair and putting puke back in (as long as it's not a joke again, I guess I can live with it) makes me rage. The reason you haven't seen me here is by the time I got internet, MK had devolved into such a pile of crap that I didn't even want to discuss it. I was over at GuardImpact and SoulCalibur.com and 8wayrun and a little TekkenZaibatsu. I hope this game is good so I don't want to abandon it again.
