Ahh they added a few new tricks to Kang. This just gets better and better.

Cage just SUITED UP!

In the background of the Gardens you can see people fighting on a bridge a la Pit, which is a nice touch.


I'm also loving the way the story mode seems to be laid out. I was originally a little dissapointed at no Konquest mode, but this seems like an even better alternative, especially if they go down the route of putting real time events or cut-scenes into fights.

About that... It would actually be cool if the background easter egg characters would switch everytime the stage reloads, so it won't always just be the same two fighting on that stage. And the same with Shao Kahn's Arena with the girls in the chains. That would definately be neat. ^^

See? It's the things like that give me hope for this game.

Milaana hated Noob Saibot, then he was revealed to be awesome and now she hates Smoke instead!

Zentile hates Liu Kang, but still thinks that he looks great in this game.

I hated Jax for many years because of the gradual destruction of his character (by the way, don't ever try to parody that...no one gets it). But I think he looks phenomenal in this game.

At this point, they could release a Quan Chi video and I might not even immediately start ranting about how much I hate him. I might even...stop...hating him. Oh my god...

But yes, NRS, you are doing a much better job that some of us have given you credit for.

IDK, I guess I like her look. She was awesome in Deception and looks cool here to, from the little I've seen of her. (I swear though, if they give her back the shake fatality I'm dropping her like a hot potato). I didn't even pick up an MK disc between like 1996 to 2007 because of the crap it became, but I guess she wasn't in there anyway, so I didn't miss anything. Really I like all the ninja girls, they're tough and nice to look at. Just Kitana's hair bothers me. IDK, why do you like Jade?

Shang Tsung was always awesome because of his morphing. I liked to be able to show off that I could use many characters. Also, his soul steal fatality was chilling. It was more sinister because while all the other characters could only take your life, he could take your soul. That's why I like him. Then he joined KISS and developed a spandex fetish or something, and I never looked at him again. He looks cool here though, again, from the little I've seen of him.

No, I agree. I don't have a solution, though (other than implement more mods, but that's out of my hands).
But a quick note to those who don't like the voice acting: try listening to it without watching the video. The motion-capture is a bit awkward for Liu's first line, and that might be throwing some people off. It's actually decent voice work.

There really needs to be a thunderclap effect to go with Pred's posts. You know,on account of him being Raiden and all.

Instead of AHEM you should have said ENOUGH like Raiden in the movie. ^^

But anyways, back on topic. Compared to the other gameplay movies, I find Liu Kang's very bland. As I said before, I've always found Liu Kang a rather boring character, however, more interesting than many other "main hero" characters such as Ryu from Street Fighter and Akira from Virtua Fighter, and I do think he is a nice representant of Bruce Lee, but he isn't really that interesting in my opinion.

I know this is off topic but they should release some ermac gameplay or anyone else we have yet to see. Liu Kang's moves are really dope though

Okay so now, here's what I wanted to post... the stuff you guys would have normally ignored.

Likes:

1.) - The WB's video badge keeps changing, there's now some kind of figure in the background. I caught the obvious changes the last few times, but it looks like they're getting more bold about it.

2.) - Voice actors have carried over from MKvsDC

3.) - Liu Kang has some upgrades to his overall moveset. Bicyle Kick looks especially good.

4.) - Story Mode stuff looks ok right now

5.) - Liu Kangs Alt looks good from what I can see.

6.) - Arenas, Arenas, Arenas. Impressed impressed impressed!



Dislikes:

1.) - Looks like we could all feel that we had been temporarily spoiled with that Noob Saibot video, because this one felt less impressive even though it was still a very good video. Liu Kang's taunt was awesome, but it fell short because of Noob Saibot's awesomeness. I'm glad they didn't hold on to Noob Saibot longer, but maybe they should have.

2.) - Liu Kang's face looks weird now. HIS MKvsDC face is one they should have kept.

3.) - I don't know what you people see but, Cage's suit is hideous. I hope he gets the Sports Jacket/ Jeans combo for another alternate costume or something. He's visually abysmal to me right now but I like some of the stuff I've seen from his gameplay. If he stays visually disgracefully like this I'll shy a way from trying him out like I wanted to. Yes, I will not play with him because he looks bad.

I can sorta understand it. Everyone has their personal favourites and they want to see their characters make a big splash.

Meanwhile Liu Kang is fairly unpopular and wins every single tournament.

It must be very frustrating to hate Liu Kang.
Edit: A thought occurs to me. These "casual" clothes are pretty much the only alts we've seen so far. I wonder if they actually are making multiple alts per person. That would explain why Cage's tux is so featureless.
I'm not getting my hopes up, because I've learned, but it might be a possibility.

Looking at it frame by frame, Kitana tries to kick Liu Kang a few frames before he starts his leg sweep. It could be a parry, but I'm thinking this is just a showcasing of character taunts. We'll see.



Interesting to see that the enhanced version of his parry is a pop up. I'm sure we'll be seeing some ridiculous combos from him within a few weeks of the game's release. Honesty though, this game seems to be one of the few fighting games where I actually want to learn and play each character.

I can't remember who was disappointed with Liu Kang's fireball since it didn't resemble a dragon's head. Anyway, here you go:

You're not the only one man, I'm right there with ya. I just got told to kill myself, and I got ignored by someone who just came here lol. I don't know why I feel the need to call people out on the constant whining, but I do.

I guess at root, what I'm trying to say is where is the positive feedback? Every once in a while you see some members here lay out what they like and dont like in the video. But anymore its people just complaining.

The bottom line is, even if the hair flowed perfectly....you all would still be bitching about something. Its what you do, its what you enjoy and its most likely why you still post here. Marketing, high heels, hair, you name it....someones upset over some detail at all times here.

I remember when we got that awesome x-ray video showing new characters and badass gameplay. For a few hours everyone was so happy. And then slowly but surely....the whines began. People were complaining that certain characters werent shown, that they revealed too much, they revealed too little.

Pull it together people...can we have ONE THREAD where people are excited for this game thats coming out and not crying? We All post here because we like the game...but sometimes its hard to tell looking at these posts.
