Yeah, because they're linear, single-player adventure games. You'd find a "game-breaking glitch" pretty easily.

Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, DOA, Soulcalibur, Guilty Gear and BlazBlue are polished fighters that don't need the support of DLC to stay afloat.

It's not DLC pay attention, and yes they do need it to stay afloat, and have used it. NONE of those games were "polished" upon release.

It is the point, "ground breaking glitches" are searched for and found to get an edge over the next person and competition.

If a game isn't online competitive what's the point in spending 100s and 100s of hours looking for game play glitches? Doesn't mean they DON'T exist.

When I say ground breaking I mean game breaking. A glitch that basically makes the game unplayable. MKDA-MKA had these. MKDC had a glitch where if two players picked the same character player one would always have more health. That's insane! Glitches like Karas, Canceling and whatnot are not game breaking.

The only reason why those existed was solely because Midway didn't want to spend the time, money and resources to fix it. They were fine with shipping garbage, taking peoples money, and running, hence why they're not around anymore. MK isn't apart of that world anymore, times have changed.

yep, I meant patches sorry.

Street Fighter II was a polished game when it came out. Tekken and all its sequels did not have game breaking glitches. BlazBlue also did not have this. None of these patches fixed the game completely, they just edited some things and made some characters a tad bit weaker. None of these patches were made to remove a glitch that made the game unplayable.

MK has had a track record of glitches that ruined the game. Some of these things just make you scratch your head wondering "how was this ignored!?"

Since this argument is going nowhere and neither of us are really agreeing I'm just going to say this:

Mortal Kombat needs to be tested before its released. That's all. I don't mean to sound bitchy about previous games or be a negative person. I just want a game that isn't broken out of the box. That's all.

I agree with Subman completely. Get the game polished as possible before it is released.

And when he refers to "ground breaking glitches and infinites," he is not referring to those aspects themselves but gameplay mechanics that lead to those aspects. In MKDA-MKA, you has stuff like meaty jumpkicks, 50/50 mixup with one good low and one good mid game, no techroll, no blockstun, free throws, delay juggles, player 1 has frame advantage over player 2, among other bullshit. This is what caused the infinites and glitches to happen.

it's not being against patches, it's being against a product that's riddled w/ bugs and full of glitches that should be found during the critical play testing stage. this absence of play testers is the biggest reason for the past 4 games failure imo.

this is good to hear but i didn't think it was a big deal.. any game that's worth a shit gets patched.. i just assumed MK9 would receive updates based on the hype so far.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

orrrrr

is WB some evil asshole company who is treating fan sites like poo?

As a fansite, you have to realize your place in the world of gaming media. We never get as much as the official sites or places like IGN and Gamespot. If this had something to do with say... GameInformer getting something nice to post later and MKU not, then that's just life. That's how it's always been. It's something you have to accept, even one as popular and well visited as MKO.

That's just speculation though. Until we know for sure, it's a mystery. Ed also tweeted about this being a bad day, but I don't know if the two are related.

http://twitter.com/MKUNIVERSE go there. That will fill you in,.

And Crow, I totally agree with you.

But you are right about Boon saying that too. Do you think that spells out something rotten for MK 2011?

Casselman: "i hope everything is ok buddy."

MK Universe: "a cyborg sub-zero? no..."

I'm so confused right now that I don't know what to finish this sentence with.

I really wish someone (Casselman?) could elaborate on the above as well as this:

MK Universe: "today is the biggest sad day in my whole live.we would be treated like dirt and shit...I am 35 years old but that was too much..Thanks WB"

Maybe some German politician heard how violent MK was and didn't want MK to be shown?

I doubt WB would do something like pissing off the fans, it's in their favor not to lol.

Whatever the case, it's seems very odd that we didn't get shit today, being the second day of GamesCom. I believe tomorow (20th) should be the last day, maybe we'll get something, who knows. I wanna see that fatality for Cyrax g'dammnit!

I can't imagine that has anything to do with it. It wouldn't be WB's fault Germany wanted to ban the game... that would be Germany's fault.

Indeed, friend. I hope he isn't just upset about not getting exclusives when other sites do. Crow definitely had a point. Its a given that sites like Game Informer and IGN are gonna get interviews and stories first. Its the totem poll or gaming sites.

I have a feeling though something a tad more sinister is afoot.
