Raiden Fatality Trailer Unveiled on Facebook and Widget!

The official Mortal Kombat Facebook's 5th character tab has been on display for a few weeks now, from a Shadows wallpaper to a Fatality wallpaper, then continuing on with a character vignette and gameplay trailer. The focus on Lord Raiden continues this week as the Thunder God battles Kung Lao across a variety of stages, leading up to a brutal fatality.

The battle rages through three different stages, with Raiden performing one of his signature special moves as the location changes, including The Pit and Shao Kahn's Throne Room. Raiden wins the battle and as a display of power finishes off his opponent. The full uncensored version of this fatality is currently available to customers who have placed pre-orders with Gamestop [which also includes a custom Scorpion skin and fatality, recently advertised] via the Widget.

Raiden's gameplay looks good, which is a nice change of pace; I've always found him boring.

Most disappointing one so far, projectile looks and sounds weak, the fatality sucks IMO and still uses those weak looking cosmic snowballs instead of tesla coils. This guy is the God of thunder and lightning, they should figure out a way to have him actually shoot lightning at people. I can't stand the lightning ball thing and I never have liked it, it's always looked weak and pathetic and I hate that now that they have these great consoles to work on they still use these whimpy effects. It looks too much like Sindels projectile only blue instead of purple. They really need to change it, that sound effect sounds like a joke by the way, I can't believe they put that in the trailer.

Oh cool, I like how Pit in daylight has the meteor storm going on in the background since I always said the Meteor Storm arena from MKA looked like a remake of the Pit II in the first place.

Raiden looks pretty good. Cant wait to try him out. Im getting a little worn out of the 4 players from the demo.

This is likely the last of the Raiden promo material, I assume. If they stick to schedule we should see a "Shadows" themed wallpaper of Shao Kahn's fatality Monday or Friday (Friday).

Nah, you can sorta see the volcano spurting its own balls of fire too, and they're not going nearly high enough to be where all the meteors are coming from.

Yeah its actually pretty cool imo. He shoots off your arms, then legs,picks up your limbless body and slams you head first into the ground.

Outside of Transformers, where have you seen a meteor leave a trail of fire and smoke? Don't you think it would be kinda lazy of them to make meteors which look *exactly* like the lava from the volcano?

I think it's kind of hard to say at this point if it's just the meteors, lava rocks or both, since we've seen too little footage. Even if the lava rocks coming from the volcano aren't going as high as the other "rocks" falling closer to the characters, it may just be that THOSE rocks came from the initial eruption of the volcano.
