It's laughable that anyone thinks we could "lose Noob or Sub" because of a "what-if" scenario.

Like Boon's gonna take two of the more recognizable characters in the series and risk alienating casual fans who they appeal to.

Actually, he could be more powerfull if hes a cyborg. Being a cybog enhances his powers, it dosn't make him weaker. Also, hes just looking for his brothers killer, same as scorpion trying to kill his familys killer. So no the story wouldn't be fucked up. He could still be after scorpion.

This game is going to be amazing. I don't I'm going to ever leave my apartment. There seems like there is an overwhelming amount of detailed content in this game that I can't fathom it all fitting. There's just so much shit.

But, I'm hoping these things like Human Sektor, Cyber Sub, Quan chi, ect. are not pushing characters like Human Smoke, Sheeva, Cyborg Smoke, Kabal, ect. out of the equation. It has already pushed Rain to DLC. Could be an early april fools

Im indifferent. That is to say im reserving judgement until i see how he is implemented.If he is a what if than he will be a fun extra (and that is coming from a fan of rain).If it doesn't end up younger subbie i will be happy,and if it does happen to him but is undone by the end of the game,it could just add another facet to his character(having survived the experience). I will have a bit of a problem if he stays that way.

That being said i think one of the other theories will be correct(like the older sub corpse one/father one/robot one etc)

This is why: First of all subs gameplay has become a staple of the series,and it would be odd not to have a character play like that. If he was changed they would be stuck with two options,change noob back,or make the cyber version play the same. Noob as a character is too interesting on his own and has some awesome abilities that would be wasted if he changed back,so he is out. Cyber subbie could have worked,except for the fact him and normal subbie are in the same game together. They will have to make them play differently so people will play both. So going into the next game cyber sub would probably have whatever basic moves he has in this one. Which would leave subs traditional gameplay unused,which would not fly for either the casual(who usually pick him or scorpion first,or the pros who would be just pissed. So for pure gameplay reasons i don't see young sub being changed,or at least not lasting till the next game.

Now if my theorizing is right than that leaves some questions about how he will come about(aside from the what if scenario)

Scenario 1: Young sub is caught instead of smoke,still a possibility i admit but as i stated i dont think it will last past this game and would be used purely for brief shock value similar to what they did to Liu Kang( and before it is brought up i know zombie liu lasted 2 but he played the same as normal liu ,and their was no normal liu character to compete besides an alternate costume and i think cyber sub is going to be more than an alternate costume.)

Now some might wonder why if younger subbie is not him,why he never appeared before in canon. My simple answer,probably because of smoke. In the previous canon they caught smoke and continued to hunt subzero. If smoke is indeed human here,that may mean that he got away,which would leave the lin kuei with only two of their top warriors. They would probably be in a more desperate position and take actions they didn't need to take before.(This all being pointless if smoke is indeed got caught in the story than my answer is i dunno)

So now im going to cover some of the better ideas so far.
Scenario 2: They are using elder subz corpse. This is a great idea and doesnt really leave anyone out. The lin kuei are extremley scientific,and if they found older subs corpse they would probably try and study it. The loss of smoke would leave two dangerous former employees so they tyake drastic action and robot up the body,using a computer program for the brain,and using the cells of older sub to access the ability to freeze. The only problem in this theory is whether scorpion left enough of a corpse to do so.

Scenario 3:They use the body of their father. Similar to the above but instead it is revealed that the lin kuei had the body of their father the entire time. This could work if scorpion destroyed older subs corpse,add extra drama and add a new person to the mythology.

Scenario 4:Its just a robot: The lin kuei lose smoke,so they go a step further than they did before and make an all robot version of sub,who they chose because of their familiarity with the line,and the effectivness of it. They would use some sort of liquid nitrogen type thing to simulate the freezing,and add a bunch of gizmos

Now this has been al my opinion,but it analyzing it has helped me feel a bit better about the idea of cyber subzero.

If this proves true, I think it's safe to assume that Cyber-Smoke is *also* going to be DLC-only. I doubt they'll put four robots in it from the start. Rain/Cyber-Smoke DLC pack is the *perfect* way to squeeze an extra $10 out of a *lot* of us
