I agree with this post one for one! Rain should hopefully play like MKT Rain, seeing that Noob is playing with much influence to his MKT self.

why is it Jaded-Raven gets four DPs for a thread similar to this,
yet I get none at all, despite creating a full moveset and *several* story ideas?

(this is not a swipe at J-R at all- his thread is cool and he deserves the DPs-
I just think it's unfair I didn't get any DPs at all for this thread, despite coming up with *several* ideas that usually score DPs )

It depends entirely on the mod. Some people tend to be really generous with DPs.

They don't really mean anything anyway. But 4 for a character thread is a little much...

This is what I would do for Rain

- His apearance should be like his MKA attire, but with a mask instead of a veil. And a dark jacket with the sleaves ripped off. The jacket is royal looking.



Specials

Mind Control Orb - Once again, like in MKT, It allows you to move the character in any desired direction. Left, right, up or down.
ENHANCED: It lets you control the opponent for a longer period of time.

Roundhouse Kick - Has the same effect as in MKT
ENHANCED: He kicks the opponent a second time, re-apearing on the other side.

Lightning Shock - Instead of the bolt coming from the sky, it should come from his hand.
ENHANCED: The lightning color turns purple and shoots a second bolt from his other hand, at the same time.

Teleport - Rain creates a puddle and drops down from it. Then a new puddle appears on the other side and Rain comes up from it.
ENHANCED: Does it a second time but ends up infront of the enemy.

Water Beam - Rain fires a beam of water at the opponent.
ENHANCED: He shoots it at the ground where a puddles lies. Then where ever the opponent is standing, it comes up and knocks them in the air, allowing a juggle.

Flood - Rain stomps on the ground and small waves of water go out in all directions, sending the opponent in the air. Similar to Jax's ground pound.
ENHANCED: The radious of the attack increases.

Tidal Waves - Rain creates a mini tidal wave ( but small enough to jump over ) that slides across the stage and damages the opponent.
ENHANCED: The wave is bigger and impossible to jump over.

X-Ray: Tsunami - Rain does his enhanced Water Beam move and Ultimate Roundhouse kicks them in the chest, cracking the ribcage. The opponent , on the other side, flys toward Rain and grabs them by the throat. Then holds up his other hand and produces a water ball in his hand, he charges it with purple lightning and fires the electricly charged water beam at their face, shattering their skull and sends them flying across the stage.

Fatalitys

Drenched Shock: Rain fires a steam of water down near his feet and slowly raising his hands until it hits the opponent, leaving a trail of water behind and the opponent drenched.
Then Rain summons a bolt of lightning onto the beginning of the water trail. The electrical current runs through the trail up to the opponent electrocuting him until they explode with explit gore and blood.

Puddle of Thunder: Rain makes a puddle around the opponent's feet and summons a lightning bolt right in the middle of the puddle, slicing the opponent in half. But as the 2 halves split, there are electrical arcs from one half to the other and as the body splits even more; the arcs get longer until they break in a spark. This continues until the 2 halves are completely split and on the ground. The bones and meat are giving off sparks.

Intro: He appears by his teleport move and says. "Your death is near"

Win Pose: Raises his arms and 2 gysers appear by his side. He fires a lightning bolt at the right one. He holds up his other hand as the lightning bolt comes out the left one and into his hand and holds this pose until the screen fades

I see we think very similarly re: Specials!

I guess mine would be something like this-
(intro) water wells up from the ground, forming a watery human figure.
Lightning strikes the water man, splashing water away and revealing Rain.
Then he says, quietly and confidently, "You have drawn your last breath!"
(a reference to his ability to drown his foe).

(winpose)- he flings his projectile into the sky, which explodes into rain clouds and begins to rain down on the entire arena while he stands with arms crossed in a detached and arrogant manner with a bubble surrounding him, keeping him dry.

I just updated the first post to include the move list, so you can see them there now

I too made a movelist for Shinnok, but alas, I cannot find it anymore.
I do remember my two favorite moves I came up with, though:

Dark Energy- Shinnok fires a bolt of black energy that actually does more damage if blocked (it surrounds them and drains their life somewhat slowly).
Super surrounds them even if they don't block, and does a tiny bit more damage.

Blood Portal- Shinnok conjures a glowing summoning circle directly over his opponent, which opens up to dump a huge pile of disembodied gore on them. Unblockable.
Super version dumps a wider pile which is harder to avoid.

Mind if I steal them and put them in my move list?

An attack that does more damage when its blocked? BRILLIANT!

Heres a new Rain Fatality I came up with.

Rain does his water beam and makes a gaping hole in their chest, revealing the ribcage. Rain rips off the head and sticks it in the rib cage.

Appearance:

I designed an idea I had for his main costume, it's in the DLC suggestions thread (I dont want to whore out my work by posting it here again lol). Basically it's a tattered, sleeveless Royal Cloak, with his family crest insignia on both sides of his chest muscles. He wears a purple and gold crown beneath his hood (considering at this point he's a fugitive of Edenian aristocracy) and his mask from Armageddon. Beneath his cloak he has similar attire to the retro ninja outfit from MK1 but with some visual references to his Armageddon outfit.

His gold belt buckle has an icon of the Edenian Kamidogu embeded within it, and the golden bracers on his upper arms spiral into a teardrop shape which have an aquamarine as it's gemstone. His primary is basically a "Thief in the Night" kinda look where he seems to wealthy to pass as a beggar, but too unkempt to blend in with his royal peers.

Alternate Appearance:

Ideally, I'd like to see Rain's alternate follow a pattern in terms of design. I've always gotten a Persian vibe off of him, so perhaps they could incorporate some royal persian designs into his outfit. I quite liked Jax007's design for him actually, and it's along the lines of what I'd personally like to see him in. Regardless, his first costume should only hint at his origins and focus more on what he is: A stealthy, coniving and deadly ninja. His second outfit could even be an updated version of his MKA: Alternate. So long as he keeps the mask on. The mystique suits him.

Intro:

Thunder Rumbles as a black cloud quickly forms above the arena. With a flash of lightning, it begins to rain very heavily, and he emerges from the puddle armed with his daggers. The storm passes as he sheaths them quickly before getting into his fight stance.

or....

Water particles from the earth gather and slither like eels towards each other on the ground, spiraling around each other rapidly as the aqueous form takes the shape of a man. He solidifies, glares at his opponent, and charges his hands with watery energy. "Let's see how you cope under preassure...." he taunts, before the round begins.


Attacks:

Hydrolic Orb/ Hydrolic Slam- Similar to his Frozen Water Orb projectile, but the watery energy encases the foe for a few seconds (raising them slightly up into the air in a bubble) before it pops and they hit the floor. Standard version gives enough time to perform a juggle before the bubble bursts (and only the projectile causes damage, not the subsequent fall), and the enhanced version has him slam the opponent off the floor twice before pushing them away with a jet blast of water.

Storm Kick/ Windy Feet - The Storm Kick is his legendary roundhouse kick, a move where rain propels himself into a spin kick motion with a quick flick of his wrists (sending a quick jet of water to propel him). If it connects, the opponent blows offscreen and lands on the other side. The enhanced version, the Windy Feet, breaks a block and has longer range. The opponent will also be knocked higher into the air allowing for an easier juggle when they return from the opposite side.

Hidden Depths/ High Tide - Rain's watery teleport move. Standard version works in a similar way to Raiden's teleport. The enhanced version, High Tide, makes Rain turn into a liquid form to parry an attack, in which he teleports behind the opponent and blasts them into the air with a geyser of water.

XRay "Neptune's Rage":

Rain teleports behind the enemy through a watery puddle, and kicks them forcefully between the legs. As the opponent holds their groin area in pain he teleports in front of them and performs a powerful piledriver, cracking their lower jaw and collar bones.

I dont care how rain looks. I just want him in the game.
