I was 3 when I started mk1 I still have mk1 on the snes.
I'm pretty sure I've played it before I was 4 years old, as I remember seeing the MK1 and MK2 cabinets, but 4 is the earliest I really remember playing it, as there's a picture of me that I still have somewhere of me playing UMK3 at some arcade place up in Virginia, not to mention I remember seeing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and playing MK3 and playing MK3 at Frankie's Fun Park.

8 years old. I played MKT as Jade first but I wasn't good though and I just rented it anyways. I learned how to play well in MK4 as Tanya and Sonya .

Don't know what age. I remember it was on MK1 on the Genesis that I got for Christmas, and I got sick that day around dinner time. Not sure if this is my earliest experience with MK.

My first memory of MK was my first memory of playing video games in general, and that was Mortal Kombat 1(1993) at a neighbors house with my older brothers at the age of 3. Sounds pretty ridiculous, and it is, but it's pretty much why I have followed the franchise ever since.

I was 14 years old when MK1 came out at the arcades, and I've been playing it ever since...It's my all-time favorite fighting game...loyal till the end!...lolol....damn I feel old! And honored at the same time to know that I was there since the beginning and I was old enough to understand it. Before MK came out, the fighting game of choice, for years, was Street Fighter. Then came MK and it was like, "Street Fighter, WHAT?!"...hahahaha The really cool thing was that when I bought it for Sega Genesis, my parents really didn't say anything negative about the game. In fact, they kinda thought it was pretty cool and started asking me questions about who all the characters were. And when MK2 and 3 came out, my parents were actually interested to see how the game and story were evolving...lolol... Now that I'm a father, I have a 9-year-old son who LOVES Mortal Kombat. His favorite is MKvsDCU probably because he likes to fight with the superheroes...lol...But he's been playing MK for a few years now, and with the avaliability of the arcade-perfect versions of MK1, 2, and 3, I can take him back to the beginning and show him how it all started. It's really cool to share the world of MK with my son and pass that down to him. For years I was afraid that he'd never get to see the origins of Mortal Kombat with the advancements and upgrading of the home systems, but I was able to get my hands on that special edition of MK Deception for XBOX, which has arcade MK1, and Midways Hits 2 for Wii (Gamecube actually), which has arcade MK2 and 3...so it was a real treat for him to see those. BUT he still prefers Deadly Alliance through Armageddon simply because you can just mash a lot of buttons together and it doesn't take as much skill-in-timing as with the older games...hahaa...

Back in 1999, maybe '98-ish, I was around 5 or 6 years of age and I had MK1 for SEGA Genesis.

Mk1 when I was 4 on SNES. I just remember loosing it over the double matches. Just seeing some guy do the splits and then explode into some girl, almost lost my mind.

I was 8-ish when I first played MK4 with my neighbor. Or was it Trilogy? Well one or the other. I honestly knew about the two films before I actually played the games. So yeah, for a dark period I DID think Kahn and Raiden were Shinnok's sons....
