I have a general question.
Are you guys going to record before or after the stream? Because with chapter 4 of the comic, character reveal on Tuesday, and the stream on Thursday we are looking at a long ass episode.

I also have a general question: have you guys given any thought to how you'll cover MKX when it drops? One episode devoted to story, another to gameplay etc.? Or just try to go for one mammoth chunk?

It's a fair assumption that we'll probably be convering it in pieces as appropriate. One episode will not - no way - be enough to cover all of MKX. I wager story mode would give us enough to cover for months, heh

I believe we're scheduled to record on Thursday this week, so it'd be after the stream, though I do agree there's a lot to discuss already. We'll see.I have a general question.

I imagine the next episode will be chunkie! As far as the general length of the program, I used to think 60 minute podcast were fine. I stumbled upon PlaystationNation podcast, which is usually a 3-4 hour session and now anything under 2 hours seems thin. I guess it's all relative, and based on the time you have to listen. I'm happy with the length of the episodes, tangents, all that good stuff. To me, that's where you need to shine. Anyone can review the content, but making it "yours" is what draws people in. Razor's ridiculous knowledge of the history, Temp's insight to the competitive scene, Shadaloo's balanced wisdom and humor, and Cyborg wrapping it together is what makes this worth the listen. I appreciate the work that goes into it.

Yeah I have zero complaints on the length of the podcast, go as long as you want, it's not as though you have to listen to the podcast straight through. Let's get that Goro retrospective.

I'm listening to episode 14 right now. When listening to the discussion about Raiden, I'm reminded of a thought I had not too long ago. I have this thought that Raiden has become the Frank Drebin of Mortal Kombat, and I'd like to know what you guys have to say.

Also I vote Kitana retrospective.

" I'm sorry I can't be more optimistic, Fujin, but we've got a long road ahead of us. Saving Earthrealm is like having sex. It's a painstaking and arduous task that seems to go on and on forever, and just when you think things are going your way, nothing happens."
A question for the podcast retrospective Has Mileena's potential to become a powerful rival to Kitana diminished? She did have some development in Deception, but other then that, she's just a jealous and insane clone of Kitana with a "jealous beauty" problem with teeth. Yea I don't see Mileena taking control of her own destiny in MKX, more like a puppet of Reiko or some other more competent villain in the war against Kotal.
Is there a chance that Tanya can be a better rival for Kitana? For me, they're not only beautiful, but INTELLIGENT when it comes to politics though Kitana is more experienced in leading an army. Both have committed horrendous acts against their realms like Kitana working under her "father" and Tanya ending up betraying her own realm by letting Shinnok enter and being an enforcer of the Deadly Aliance and working for Onaga. Tanya might have fought for the Edenian Resistance though her backstory is still a little sparse so it's only a speculation. However unlike Tanya, Kitana was BROUGHT UP to be evil, but on her own she found out about her past and started to change her life around by rebelling against Kahn and breaking Edenia free plus freeing Sindel from Kahn's control. Tanya, on the other hand had the opportunity after MK4, to return to Edenia though she might face the wrath of Jade and be tried for treason and return to the side of good, but she ended up staying with Quan Chi by CHOICE. Why is that? Could it be being the intellectual she is, she might have somehow got interested in dark magic and become Quan Chi's apprentice? Did she have a personal disdain for the royal family? We don't know. I can see two polar opposites: Kitana used to be evil, uses her intelligence and power as a combatant to help save Edenia and other realms while Tanya who used to be good uses her smarts and dark magic to manipulate and destroy people's lives, serving the forces of darkness and better herself as a "survivor." To me, Tanya is the dark side of Kitana of what would have been if she stayed with Shao Kahn and didn't figure out her past. I think this rivalry can be exploited by NRS if it's written well.

I thoroughly enjoy listening to you guys every week! I personally enjoy the unstructured format, and usually the tangents offer some different POVs and insights.
I listen while I do schoolwork or whenever I need to kill some time. The length never bothered me, and honestly I'm always wanting to hear more. Keep on keeping on!

This. I usually listen when I'm out jogging/working out in the morning and I'll pause at some point and pick it back up at when I'm at work. Length, at least for me, is of no issue.

Mostly yes, however Legacy, surprisingly, portrayed her very well. She remained vicious, but with a sense of integrity in how proud and honored she felt to be a warrior of Kahn's.

The length of it hasn't bother me at all. I enjoy listening to it while I'm at work. Plus the time files while I'm working which is a good thing lol. You guys are doing a great job so far I'm always looking forward to your next episode.
My retrospective vote goes to The Princess of Edenia Kitana.

We're recording Thursday night, in an effort to get all the reveals, news, and stream covered. It'll be up late Thursday.

Nope. As mentioned in another thread, I tweeted Sean Kittlesen and asked, he confirmed it's Reptile "in really bright light" (One hell of a coloring flub).

Yeah, the mask is the same. I'd guess it's Reptile with his human skin?
I feel like the colorist got a bad memo or assumed it to be Smoke when it wasn't, because there hasn't been a game since UMK3 where he's had flesh-colored skin or said disguise.
Him looking like that smells to me of either a fuckup of epic proportions, or this goes back to Sean's statement that they had to assume what characters would look like at certain points in time and so made up new outfits. Maybe both in this case.

It's also possible that they just didn't want to spoil it, so for that one small panel on that page, they just altered the color, and potentially it'll look normal in the actual comic it appears in.
