I mean the actual issue that panel is from. Not the last page. Raiden's vision page, but the full page that panel will be on in the future. Raiden's visions were all events that will show in future chapters. We saw Hanzo and Takeda in the snow, as well as Cassie and Frost...so eventually we'll get to that panel as a part of an actual chapter, and in that version it might be green or at least explained as to why he looks like that.
I gotcha. The logic for this as an intentional anti-spoiler tool is weird, though. I mean, the visions of Jax training a girl one could assume to be his daughter, or Reiko and Mileena being gross together - I'd submit those are kind of bigger mindfucks than just seeing Reptile paired with Kotal. That's just kind of an "Oh, cool" moment. We already knew he was alive and out there somewhere, having made it alive and intact through MK9.

Right. It's likely they just try and explain why he looks the way he does, or it truly is "extreme brightness" lighting. Or they don't. Meh, lol.

C'mon bro. There's nothing more important in MK than the ninjas. Real talk.

You guys ever think about devoting an episode to the MK clones that cropped up everywhere in the 90's? Might make for an interesting discussion with many obscure references to outdated fighters...
You could title the episode "Nooby and the Cloneasaurus"
*cough*
I also put up a thread with the theory that because the MK trilogy are (arguably) the most popular MK characters, we won't really see many reveal videos/pictures of post MK3 characters. They'll either just be in the game without any fanfare or just given a small bit of promotion stuff before the game launches; basically what happened to two not as well known DC characters for Injustice (Ares and Killer Frost).
What are your thoughts on this and do you think NRS is going to give some of its MK4-MKA characters a chance in MKX?
Also, can you guys can give a shout out to my 'bring back Kreate a Kharacter Kontest' thread on the fan submission page? I'm going to try and get MKO to host another one (hopefully before MKX comes out) and since you probably have a decent amount of listeners that are from this site, it'd be great publicity for getting people interested. Here's the link if you do mention it that you could put in the youtube description.

Glad you're listening, I was thinking of you when it was 2:40AM(had to be up by 7:30) and I was still trying to upload it so you could listen to it at work.
I don't know why you guys shit on Temp any time he starts to talk about technical aspects of the game. Just because you're too stubborn to actually learn details regarding fighting game terms doesn't mean that people listening dont. Cyborg this is the second show where Temp starts going in on some gameplay technicality and your response is to always undermine the convo through juvenile bullshit. It really is irritating and Temp is way too considerate to not blow you guys the fuck up for being a fan of a fighting game series and know jack shit about how fighting games actually play.
I think you saying that "I can't stand when someone knows something I don't" is at play here and for me...it just warranted an unsub.

I'm really unaware of what you're accusing me of here. I love Temp talking competitive mechanics. Temp was my personal pick to be on the show...I'm not sure why I would try and sabotage him or cut him at the knees when he goes in detail on those aspects of the game. So I reiterate, I'm really thrown by that statement.
If you wouldn't mind, link me to what you are referring to, because I'm genuinely curious as to what I'm doing, and when, that could make you respond like this. It must be pretty bad.
But as far as unsubscribing goes, that's fine. None of us make money off of this, we do this for fun, and to entertain you guys. 90% of what I do is just to try and make things more silly and fun, not so stiff and stale in terms of delivery. If that's an issue, I can certainly put on a more serious face.

I just want to stop you here and remind that not everyone on the planet has the time to be a full-on fighting game enthusiast and get really deep in the game. I hope you're not implying that some of us aren't "willing to become good" or some such garbage, because there are those of us with full-time jobs, relationships, familial responsibilities and commitments, and plain and simple don't have the time to play games as we once did when we were younger. It took me three months to finish GTAV's story because my schedule doesn't permit marathon gaming. Point in fact it's one of the reasons I'm taking 2 days off work when MKX comes out, because otherwise it'd probably take me a clear week to get through Story mode.
Seriously, I think you missed the part where I directly sought Temp's input into Sektor's tier placement and skills.
I'm not going back through each episode but the most recent example is around 2:09:00. Maybe "shitting on" is a bit harsh as you and the rest of the panel don't verbally berate him but usually, Temp's explanations are met with (best case scenario) absolute silence and a "Well so anyway..." type of reaction. Or worse case scenario, like in this episode, Temp answers a direct question from Shadaloo "Where did Mk9 Sketor fall on the tier list" and Temp gives a pretty good explanation. Without even waiting for him to finish or even pursuing it as a talking point you start playing some sound clip because you're "worried that the convo got too serious". I mean seriously? Nitpicking over Reptile's costume color scheme is perfectly fine but Temp pointing out technicalities in an aspect you don't know about or perhaps don't care about and all of a sudden it's "too serious."
Week before that Temp tried to give a brief nod to the KiT tournament and because someones handle is Cossner, you derailed the conversation with a joke about Kevin Cossner to the point where the topic wasn't revisited. I mean I get it, you guys aren't obligated to be interested in tournament scenes and high level gameplay but...when you either actively or passively inhibit the discussion of it, it's both noticeable and off-putting. It also contradicts the whole "Oh we have a gameplay guy here to talk about gameplay" when no one really wants to talk with him about it.

Thats the exact situation and no, I'm not insinuating anything like that. Being a "fighting game enthusiast" isn't rocket science. Just like you can understand the basic strategy and rules of a football game doesn't mean you can go out there and start QB for the Seattle Seahawks. Knowing what "Footsies", "Frame Traps", "Cross-ups", and "Meaty" attacks are isn't this crazy nebulous feat. Being able to actually DO THEM is.

Awwuh Cyborg I'm all touched! I almost missed my train waiting for it to download but I made and had a good commute after all!
Though I have to say, as a Sektor fan, if carrying on like certain other fanbases is whats required to get my character in the game....nah I'll be grand. On the flipside, I do understand where Mojo is coming from, in that it seems like the goofiness is sometimes a little ill timed in regard to Temp's gameplay contributions. As in, it does seem like the sudden wackiness happens more when Temp's discussing the competitive scene and stuff than during Razor's Storytime or the general discussions. Never really struck me as that big a deal though

I've had Criminal Minds on the brain lately, so when I saw the term "Unsub" for one moment I was like "WHOA. Why does this warrant a serial killer? It's just a video game dude!"
Then again, it's Mortal Kombat, where practically every character exhibits Unsub behavior anyway, so whatevs. :P

Ok, I will make a conscious effort to make sure not to step on Temp's toes, when it comes to gameplay discussion. That was never an intention, and to think that it was, is just a bit silly.
Which leads me to this. I have a suggestion for you in return. If you have "constructive" criticism, make sure it is constructive, and not just criticism, with a bunch of accusations and assumptions, as well as downright insults, attached to it.
Let's see...
Mojo6 Wrote:Just because you're too stubborn to actually learn details regarding fighting game terms doesn't mean that people listening dont."
I have a full time job, over full time college classes(13 credit hours), a girlfriend(how many nights has she been upset that I have to take what little free time I have, to do a podcast all night), and around 4-8 hours with friends i'm committed to every week. As well as this podcast itself, which takes around 2 hours to record, 30-60 minutes of bullshitting before and after each show, as well as an hour and a half of editing and uploading I personally have to do. I'd love to be a fighting game pro, but it's just not happening anytime in the foreseeable future. Stubbornness, is not a factor.
Mojo6 Wrote:and your response is to always undermine the convo through juvenile bullshit.
A bit harsh, but that's what opinions and taste are for. I just try and make people laugh and smile. Sorry if that doesn't come across through all the juvenile bullshit.
Mojo6 Wrote:It really is irritating and Temp is way too considerate to not blow you guys the fuck up for being a fan of a fighting game series and know jack shit about how fighting games actually play.
Well, Temp hasn't said anything off air suggesting such, and I'm a pretty reasonable guy when it comes to suggestions. Anytime he has wanted to bring up something competitive related, I've always embraced it and encouraged it. Playing a soundclip(only happened in this episode) or laughing about a name isn't contradictory of that, IMO. I watch the tournaments, I'm aware of the logistics and the basic levels of the competitive scene. But hey, I guess you would know best.
Mojo6 Wrote:I think you saying that "I can't stand when someone knows something I don't" is at play here
Another accusation and assumption. I said that I don't like when people know something, in the sense of spoilers for a movie/game that I really want to play, and they know story elements or characters in the game, that could then potentially slip out and spoil it for me. So this idea that anybody who knows anything more than me, about anything, would irritate me, or even make me sabotage them or disrespect them...is absolutely outlandish, and quite insulting that you'd think I'd be that petty.
Mojo6 Wrote:Temp's explanations are met with (best case scenario) absolute silence and a "Well so anyway..." type of reaction.
That's just our natural reactions sometimes. We're not going to be phony or fake with our responses, that would be a circle jerk affair, and I'm not always appealing to everyone, but I'm certainly not fake. So giving false enthusiasm or pretending a response just for the sake of it, wouldn't be me. It's also not intentional to disrespect Temp or the topic at hand, it's completely unrelated. I've done the same when answering questions, when a rant goes on too long, or it goes on a tangent etc. whatever topic it may be. Also, consider the fact that I work all damn day, and sometimes have classes right after, so I could have a 9-11 hour day, then come home, eat, and immediately jump right into trying to set up everything to record. So if we're 2 hours into an episode, or more, I get tired. Please excuse that.
Mojo6 Wrote:Or worse case scenario, like in this episode, Temp answers a direct question from Shadaloo "Where did Mk9 Sketor fall on the tier list" and Temp gives a pretty good explanation. Without even waiting for him to finish or even pursuing it as a talking point you start playing some sound clip because you're "worried that the convo got too serious".
To be fair, I had that sound clip on hold for around 30 minutes or so, since we were talking about the Riddler, and was just looking for an opportunity to use it. That was the first break/silence, so I just played it. The subject had nothing to do with it, nor was I trying to derail it. Once again, you're making an accusation that I have malicious intent or I'm just trying to be silly 100% of the time, not letting anyone discuss things thoroughly. It has nothing to do with the conversation getting too serious. There isn't such a thing. You're over-analyzing this quite a bit.
Finally, as I said inititally, my suggestion to you, is to not jump to conclusions and assume everything is so maliciously or purposefully done, to the point where you are essentially lashing out at me and insulting my integrity and personality etc. That just makes you come off like a bit of a prick. You can raise a concern, or give criticism, but give the person the benefit of the doubt, or be a bit more respectful at least. I don't believe anyone deserves that.
Case in point:
