If they were to all use their powers to the full extent, I'd say Ermac. He could use his telekinesis to severe the kombatant's connections to their brains, i.e, create a abrrier around it, or telekinetically split it in half, simply retarding the kombatants. I hoenstly think he's got the most potential when it comes to ability. No one could touch him without being lobotomized.

Unless he was frozen in his tracks thanks to Sub-Zero and his amulet.

Right now, I'd say him, but because everyone is powerful in their own certain way, I will have to go with my other instinct and say, they're all powerful.

Raiden's self destruct couldn't kill Onaga in MK: Deception, and that was after Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, & Raiden fought him in one effort. As for Shujinko..... shoot him in the head with a shotgun.wink

Yeah, there is far too much to factor into the answer of this question. So I'm just gonna say no one is the most powerful. Though I do wonder how Shao Kahn has managed to rule as an emperor for all these years...I think there's something to be said for that.

Also Vash, couldn't the same argument that you proposed also apply to Kenshi?

Technically, it would have to be Liu Kang

he is still the immortal champion of the latest actual Mortal Kombat Tournament, if you can't die, you can't lose.

There are a lot of powerful characters in MK. I won't name any with
magical abilities because that gives them too much of an advantage.
If we're talking Fighting Skills alone, I'd have to say Liu Kang, Kung Lao,
Kitana, and Mileena are more skilled than most of the MK cast. More
so Kitana & Mileena because of the sheer number of years they have
been training to perfect their craft.

I don't see how being immortal makes you powerful. Yeah, you cannot die, but even the weakest creature can suddenly turn immortal, that still wouldn't make you powerful.

And what I mean is this, you can't be granted super strength with immortality, no, that's not how things work. Liu Kang may be immortal, but that doesn't mean that he's all powerful, people could probably whip his ass, even though he wouldn't die, but do you kinda see where I'm going with this?

I just felt like writing this because I just can't see how being immortal makes you powerful, it just means that you can't die but still can't picture how that's being powerful.

I grew up playing Mortal Kombat -- like most of our noble forum members.
Over the years, having tested all the characters in almost all MK releases; I have come to love Raiden.
Raiden is different from the mediocre rest.
You can't beat the electricity.
The moves. The sprites. The sheer story-line. And I always admired Christopher Lambert!

Thunder. Electricity. Computer Science. Rayden. Martial Arts. Game. Ed Boon. Tobias... I must have seen the ending sequence of Mortal Kombat 4 more than one thousand times now. And believe me; I am NOT exaggerating here.

Rayden is the most powerful of all the Mortal Kombat Warriors.
He shocks them (half?) to death 3/4 of the time!

It's the electricity!

It's the same electricity that power these
semi-conductor based forum, Mortal Kombat Online.

I still think I'm the World Best MK4 and MK5 player to date on PC and PS2 respectively.

I look forward to the day that all people all over the world will have state-of-the-art consoles with super bandwidth connections. So that people will "WoW!" at the spirit of the game.

Did you say ESWC? I don't know. I've written Mr. Boon about it.
No answer.

Maybe it isn't important. I hear those bigwig programmers hardly have the
time to think of such creative or FINANCIALLY PROFITABLE VENTURES!

Did I hear you say Tougeki?

Hmm...

Well Shujinko absorbs fighting skills so wouldn't he be the most powerful? Or Raiden, if he was to self destruct.

You, and MK seems to have a misshapen idea about the word telekinesis.

I posted this in another thread a while back. If you are talking fighting skills and powers, I could make a case for the original Sub Zero now Noob Saibot.

I will repost for this thread:

Actually you could make a rather compelling case for the original Sub Zero (now Noob Saibot) being the best mk warrior ever based on the fact that mk mythologies is canon.

Lets start with the fact that Sub Zero breaks into the Shaolin temple and fights his way through the monks who are the people who trained Liu Kang and are trained to protect the scroll you're after. So they are warriors.

Then you fight and kill Scorpion in his human form proving you are a better fighter. Then you get sent to fight the gods and you actually beat Fujin, and the gods of water, fire, and earth who are not named.

Then you get bitched at by Raiden and get sent to the nether realm where you then fight the undead Scorpion we all know and love. You beat him again. Then you beat all of Quan Chi's assassins Kia, Jataka, and Sareena.

After all that you beat Quan Chi who proves to be no match for the elder Sub Zero and then you get the amulet back thus beating Shinnok.

So in conclusion you beat human Shira Ryu Scorpion, specter Scorpion, several gods which includes Fujin, an elder god Shinnok, Quan chi himself, and his personal assassin squad Kia, Jataka, and Sareena.

That is pretty impressive. Sub Zero then goes on to get killed by Scorpion who finally gets it right on the THIRD try. I guess the old saying that the third times the charm was correct in this case.

We all know that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi were involved with both resurrecting Scorpion and entering him in the tournament. You could theorize that they did this and made Scorpion more powerful this time around to stop the original Sub zero from winning the first mk. Maybe they figured that if Sub Zero could beat Quan Chi he could definetly beat Shang Tsung.

He also probably would have beaten Goro, since in the mkda tournament edition he ambushes and nearly kills Goro. Hey it still counts!

It is possible that Sub Zero was the only kombatant Shang was concerned about and after he gets killed wasn't sweating anybody else and was surprised by Liu Kang.

All in all a great what if scenario. I think that Sub Zero would have won that tournament without Scorpion's interference, and that fact is alluded to by Raiden. Sub Zero had already been tainted with evil by his Lin Kuei training and was at least until his death unable to disobey clan orders. If he chose to abandon the clan and reform who knows?

WarriorPrincess I love Kitana and Mileena they are two of my favorite characters but based on his accomplishments I don't see either of them defeating Noob Saibot. That is my conclusion anyway.

And the fact that he's mortal.

Come to think of it, the One Being is probably the most powerful but until we get a tangible representation of it, I don't think we can count it.

If the One Being ever has a tangible representation, nothing else would exist, so in a case like that, the One Being would be the strongest being in existence by default because it'd be the only being in existence. tongue
But in all seriousness, I'd have to bet money on Shujinko; his storyline and powers give him more strength and energy than any other character in the series.

Yet, his mortality would allow him to be easily killed, because as we've seen, he ages like any regular human, and is currently MUCH older then any other earthrealm kombatants, and therefore more vulnerable internally as well as externally to a certain extent

I know what you mean, even in MKA, he takes extra damage compared to the other combatants. But take into account that he's ridiculously powerful with his gifts, and being mortal means nothing in MK; Sub-Zero was a mortal and defeated gods, Liu Kang defeated Shinnok (fallen Elder God, but still extremely powerful), and Quan Chi and Shang Tsung together beat Raiden, though they are both mortals.
Technically, Quan Chi is an Oni. But anyways...

I would have to say a 3-way tie. With whom?

Noob Saibot, Quan Chi, and Scorpion.

Noob Saibot
Defeated Gods and Quan Chi. Killed Hanzo and defeated Scorpion after his 1st resurrection. As a wraith, he nearly killed Goro, the former Mortal Kombat Champion in which he would've fought and beaten. Serving others, he was a valuable warrior, now alone he can reach his full potential.

Quan Chi
Transformed himself from a Oni to appear human-like and has vast knowledge in sorcery. Consider even more powerful than Shang Tsung. Easily deceives anyone he comes to contact with (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Shinnok, Shao Kahn, ect.). Has (or had) the Amulet in which hold great power to those who know how to use it. If unlocking the full power of the Amulet, he would be unstoppable for anyone, or any God, to defeat.

Scorpion
Killed in cold blood by Sub-Zero, he had to choose whether to remain in the NetherRealm for the rest of the eternity, or to return to the world of the living as a spectre, but losing any memory from his past and his family. (I believe that Quan Chi help give Scorpion his abilities in case Sub-Zero would cross him, in which he did) He fought Sub-Zero in the NeterRealm, but lost, only to get his last opportunity in the Mortal Kombat Tournament where he killed him. Scorpion grows his strengths threw the NetherRealm and his emotions of seeking revenge. As Quan Chi is still alive, he will grow powerful enough to kill him soon, but if he were to stay in the NetherRealm and absorb all the evil within the Realm, he will be unstoppable.

Shujinko does seem like a good choice.

I think Onaga is perhaps the strongest of them all. He was the only one who was able to kill Raiden. He was even able to project his soul beyond death. You can't beat that.
