You were here a lot longer than I? And you know how long I have been watching this site how? wow

I could really care less about your "credentials" concerning a video game, how long you have been here, and what games you have played at what level. What I don't appreciate are people like you coming in here spouting insulting, elitist garbage. It's not called for, and generally not needed.

As I said, if you want to offer your expertise in a video game, civilly, go right ahead.
If you are going to be a jerk about it, leave it at the door.

First off the term is couldn't care less. You make yourself look ignorant when you say I could really care less.

In the end I was right and the original poster and yourself were wrong. It was a decent comeback due to my lazy error but in the end I'm right as usual.

Still shocked anybody posts here over MKU though.

This thread is gonna be fun now, I can feel it in my blood.

On one side, we've got some dude, a Dr. Cox wannabe without the wit or good quotes. On the other side, we've got, well...a bunch of other dudes, now put into overdrive because he threw some harsh words around.

The fact you tl;dr'd a stickied 5 page thread, mocked its creator, then openly assumed nobody here is qualified to talk shop just because of the forum we post on, is EXACTLY why we choose to hang out here, and not where people like you hang out.

If all you want to do is pick apart grammar and say things like; "In the end I'm right as usual" how bout you show yourself the door, and holla back in March when the kombat servers go live?

Perhaps in the 1940s, where "I couldn't care less" originated, it would have been considered "ignorant", but in the present the term "I could care less" is a perfectly acceptable, albeit more laid back, alternative. Being a video game forum, I was under the impression that laid back speech would be acceptable enough. If you want to argue linguistics, take it to PM. This thread is about gameplay discussion, remember? But thanks for looking out for me grin

In the end, the OP was NOT wrong, and neither was I. Frame advantage also considers when a hit connects. How is that wrong? Read some of the primers I posted, unless both of those are wrong as well (because I realize you are "right as usual", but so far I am finding a lot of holes in that theory). The first sentence on one of those primers describes frame advantage in a very similar manner to how the OP briefly described it. As I said, incomplete, but by no means 100% incorrect.

If you are shocked people are posting here, that would lead me to believe that you see this site being inferior to MKU, which would then have me question why you are posting here over MKU. I've read two posts by you in the past day and a half, and both have been rather insulting to this site and it's members. I can't speak for MKU, but if your posting style is representative of what I may find at MKU, then I can answer why I would prefer to post here.

I'm pretty much done discussing frame advantage with you. With the mindset of "right as usual" established in your head, I don't think we are going to get much further than what we have here.
On with the gameplay discussion.

I posted here long before you did and still do post her obviously. This particular site is notorious for having people who don't know what they're talking about so yah I am amused. Its better than it used to be when members of this site would deny that frames even existed in mk games.

I didn't just pick apart grammar I pointed out that something was incorrect. As for me "hollering back" why would I bother I'll just destroy the people here like I did on mk/dc. All the top players posted at MKU and there is a lot better information over there. Sorry but thats a fact.

Damn did you even read my post or are you just stupid? Lets look again

Frame advantage is when one move comes out quicker than another.

This is from the original post. This is 100% WRONG. Frame advantage is NOT when one move comes out quicker than another. Frame advantage in no way changes how fast a move comes out. Frame advantage comes into play on hit or block. My explanation on block already sums it up and applies to hit as well.

You need to learn to read better.

Couldn't care less will still make you sound ignorant when anybody actually knows what it means. Most people aren't bright enough to realize that its being used incorrectly but it is still not considered acceptable. Then again you appear to have reading difficulties so I'm not surprised.

And relying on cussing and personal insults to take you through a debate doesn't make you look ignorant? The tactics that weaker people grasp at when losing a debate are typically personal attacks. Thank you for beautifully demonstrating that process to us grin

I will admit, I can see how you would need to correct the OP. On a basic level he is still correct, but not including the fact that frame advantage would incorporate moves on a hit or block, and just saying one move comes out faster than the other would be misleading. Adding the information to his post probably would have been more welcome had you not been completely insulting in the process.

As far as the linguistic issue goes (the one that you won't just drop), I'm pretty sure everyone here is bright enough to know what I am talking about, though according to your latest post, you NOW seem to think that saying "couldn't care less" makes you appear ignorant as well, so I guess I can't win.

Moving on now. I suggest you do the same before this degenerates further.

.....right then, I'm gonna go edit the original post.

Frame Advantage:
A move which allows the player to recover before his opponent leaves either hit stun on hit or block stun on block is considered to have frame advantage in those areas. Moves that enjoy frame advantage on hit are often used in links to perform combos, while moves that enjoy frame advantage on block are often used as pokes.

Okay, then let me reply in a much simpler manner. It doesn't matter if you're the best player in the world, founded the internet, know everything there is to know about fighting games, have never lost ever, are always right, have great hair and crap out bricks of solid gold. If you post on a casual gamer board like an arrogant elitist cock, no one will have any interest in what you have to say.

However quite often people do have interest in what I say and even thank me for my posts.

On a basic level and all levels his definition of frame advantage was incorrect or at best incomplete. As for personal insults that is referred to as ad hominem but its obvious you didn't even read my initial post you chose to look at what you perceived as an insult. At the same time you have people in this same thread supporting my statement. This is a casual board and it is cute when you try to discuss things that are reserved for competitive boards like MKE or MKU.

b0r4t: If you are referring to ad hominem abusive (also known as "personal attacks), which involves insulting a person to validate your own argument, then I would say that asking if someone is stupid and stating a person has reading difficulties would certainly fall into that category. In the end, ad hominem abusive still involves reaching for insults to invalidate the credentials of the person the user is speaking to (as opposed to invalidating the issue itself), while trying to validate their own position, and is considered to be a weak, fallacious, and desperate tactic, as I stated.

Also, thank you for acknowledging that SubMan799's definition was "at best incomplete". That's partly what I have been trying to get you to understand since my first post on this topic (particularly in posts 1 and 3).

SubMan799: Thanks for fixing the description. I am sure you will be notified if either the definition is incomplete/ incorrect or if your grammar needs corrected.

b0r4t, do me a favor and just stop. You're coming off as a giant douche trying to wave his e-penis around the almighty internet. You probably didn't mean for your posts to come out that way, but that's just the way it looks. I fixed the definition of frame advantage, so that's that. Nothing else needs to be added to the argument. No one quote this post, respond to it, or respond to any previous posts concerning this. We're moving on

ok lets try to get this back on topic,
something that has been on my mind is Johnny's weird move that looks like a focus attack from street fighter.
He charges up the attack:

now he unleashes it:

and now she falls very similar to SF when a character gets hit by a focus attack

pretty interesting.

Now this has been bothering me for a while Nightwolf does something weird which I havent found an explanation yet
He emits a green glow while he is ducked down

then green goo creeps from his legs towards Kung Lao and as it gets closer to the wall it illuminates it

you can see it a bit further here

does anyone have an idea of what it is?

Based on the sound and the animation it looks like he tried to call his Johnny Cage assist and for some reason (glitch, yay) Johnny got trapped off screen. The green glow is the added effect from his fireballs.

If you notice, he tries to perform the exact same combo a second later (axe uppercut > jab >assist) Even though johnny shows up the fireballs still whiff, tho.

I don't know if this was posted earlier in the thread but did anyone notice that in the tag match with Cage/Nightwolf and Mileena/KL, there was absolutely no corner pushback? LOL. They need to fix this ASAP or there is gonna be infinite galore all over the place.
