Mk2 is loved by many for obvious reasons It looked cool, it innovated the idea of fatalities. Characters look cool. And then it falls on its face. The gameplay is just bad.

UMK3 is the best MK game, and the only one that gets any attention (and rightfully so) from serious gamers.

If you aren't interested in good gameplay, that's fine. If you prefer doing fatalities all day, go for it. But considering UMk3 is the only MK game with high quality gameplay and it still has a following that brings people out to tournies to this date it seems pointless to argue about it being the source of all things terrible. They must have gotten something right, or else it would be relegated to the same place as games like MK2. Everyone knew it, a lot of people liked it, its not around any more, because its gameplay sucked.

Yea, I'll agree but I'll still stand by MKT as a personal fav. Just cuz it had everything in it.

It was the least limited Mk Game for me as well. I could do just about anything with that game and still play it today.

In terms of my personal preference, UMK3 and MKT are equal, but I know UMK3 is better.

maybe MK:D was broken? So what, if your a cassual gamer like most of the people in the USA then you would go search for stuff too complain about, you would just sit down, enjoy the game while playing each other like me and my bro do. I never had a problem with online yet (I dont see why since you can use breakers) but now I am canceling my XBL subscription (lol I say fuck 50$ when you can get it for free).

And oh yeah, MK3 was pretty bad (not TOO bad) but UMK3...that changed my mind about the best 2d mk ever...(if it wasnt for MAME I would have never have played this) and IMO UMK3 is equal to MKT I wouldnt say niether were better.
