Vote here on which game you think is better. I know it isnt fair the the tekken fans but hey I just wanted to see what the outcome might be. When voting tell why you think its better.
for me im surely going with MKDA. Because its battle system seems to do better than tekkens.

I thought he said to write why you think which ever game is better/worse.
I've never really had a lot of time to spend with T4, most of my tekken time was spent with T3. From what I remember it played just like T3 only with interactive arenas, which is great, but I've gotten used to DA's engine so MK takes it. I really like the look of tekken. In T4 the arenas were better than MK's (more interaction), and the character models looked and moved more realistic than in MK:DA.
Over all though (I'm a MK freak) MK kills the competition. The atmosphere and story, the versatility... MK:DA is the only fighting game that I've ever truely loved through and through (other MK included as well), and it was able to draw me in and keep me playing for days, weeks,
months at a time.

MKDA is far better. For one I'm a master at it. Two I just find everything about it more enjoyable. Has the presentation and everything which makes me come back to it. However Tekken is better as far as competition is concerned. MKDA just can't compare. Tekken is also much deeper in the gameplay department. So what it comes down to with me is the fun factor. MKDA surpasses Tekken 4 in everyway in that category.

MK:DA completely.
Tekken 4 nearly sucked. MK:DA's fight engine was much better, better graphics, the characters had better moves in MK:DA, and the moves looked better too, and MK:DA has cooler arena's. MK:DA is just an overall better game.

I agree with you on that, but... when it comes to Arenas, I think Tekken's is better. Even yesterday, I was playing Virtual Fighter 4, and I noticed the Arenas were quite good, In fact, better than MKDA's. But, MKDA still rules all other fighting games

ok...this really doesnt make sense. cause youre on a mk message board, so naturally, mk is gonna win. what you should do is create a real web poll and put it up on some mk and tekken boards to give both sides a fair chance.
id vote for mkda.

of course mkda is gonna get more votes on an mk site. here's the bottom line:
tekken 4 is flawed as hell and it still wipes the floor with mkda. i played mkda for about a month until i realized it was just not good.
tekken has everlasting appeal. any of them, actually.
mkda is done.
and i am a huge mk fan and not just some tekken fanboy.

icephoenix you got to be joking right tekken 4 still wipes the floor with mkda. and you only played it for only a month and say its not good. i say your statement is flawed, you didnt give any reason why mkda is not good. mkda is still one hell of a game i still play it. mkda improve in so many ways. no one's calling you a fan boy or anything, but if your going say mkda is not good list your reason on why its not good and say what can be improved.
It's a toss up for a few reasons. I'll say that MKDA is better, because i have more fun playing it. But i will acknowledge the greater gaming community's opinion, in that Tekken is a more balanced fighter. to be honest though, i don't know much about video game specs, but there is just something about MK that is appealing. I think it's the story. It just seems some how, more tangable than other fighters. Anything other fighting game, i have no belief in any of the characters, in MK, i daresay, i relate to the characters. Mk is just more immersive so to speak.
MK wins.
MK wins.

It can be argued both ways for this. Both games have pretty deep gameplay...Tekken 4's combat system is more in-depth but MK:DA's multiple style system provides an incredible array of moves. Yes, Tekken 4 has more interactive environments, but that doesn't add to gameplay and from higher level players, they actually really hate the wall in Tekken 4 as it provides some very cheap tactics. Its generally agreed that Tekken 4 is a more balanced game but MK: DA is just more fun. When you put the two together though there really isn't a comparison, MK: DA just offers so much more than Tekken 4 does, but you need to keep in mind that Tekken 4 was released a good 6 months before MK: DA. Just the sales figures of MK: DA shows you how popular it is. Tekken 4 isn't going to knock MK: DA off the top anytime soon, but Soul Calibur 2 probably will.

Theres a good chance it could happen, but I doubt it. Soul Caliber is an extremely awesome game, but again, compared to MKDA, it dosnt give much.

Trust me...the gameplay in SC2 is just so much more in depth than MK: DA...even with MK: DA's multiple fighting styles it's going to find it very difficult to beat SC2. Don't discount SC2 because it's purely weapons based, it's execution is next to perfect. If the final US version is half as good as the original, MK: DA's going to have some serious problems staying on top.
MK: DA vs Tekken 4 there's no contest, MK: DA wins hands down. MK: DA vs SC2 though, it's not so clear cut and we'll probably see a very, very close battle in sales figures between the 2. Two million sales for MK: DA after about 8 months is impressive (thats easily the most popular fighting game in recent history by a long shot) but can SC2 (which will also be available for multiple platforms) beat it out? It'll be very close.

Only scrubs bitch about the wall system in T4 becuase they don't know how to tech, or can't keep from getting owned by iWS+2. Granted, wall pushes are 8 fricken' frames; but if a person is a wall pansy then they need to learn to zone and stay the hell away from them walls. And walls don't affect gameplay? I guess you're right, infinites and pillar glitches don't affect gameplay at all. o_O
T4 was released in July of 01 - two years ago -with a two week separtarion between the Jap and US.
T4 is not ballanced. Jin/Steve are broke - at least broke enough for middle level players to get owned. Yoshi/Kuma/Lei are weak sauce. Everyone else is...well, decently ballanced.
DA has almost 0 depth. No oki, no wake-up game, weak walls, and a pissy properties system. Stances in DA do not warrent depth, they warrent another way in wich to do the same moves with different animations - hence the total lack of a propeties system.
DA sold so well becuase little 12 year old boys like dog-face girls with bouncey tits, dudes that throw ice and spears, and FATALITIES!!!!!
Now I'll admit, I've had a little fun playing DA. But, no where near as much as I have had these last two nights at GameWorks playing T4 and Tag for about four hours. With real, living, breathing, dudes sitting next to me. Joking, laughing, callig out every broke-ass and cheap move, and checking out fine asian ass.
Peace and love ya'll.
MK:DA's awesome but I got bored with it easily although I haven't played Tekken 4 I did buy Tekken Tag Tournament the other day. I would have to play Tekken 4 but if it's like how TTT is then MK:DA is better I would say. MK:DA's graphics are awesome and the blockings great, the reversals (sp?) and Tekken's good b/c it's of actual fighting no on throws a spear out of there hand or shoots lightning bolts and there's moves in Tekken that set up into other moves but all in all I say MK:DA wins.

It's actual fighting in MK:DA too... It's just that people have powers that you can't really have in real life. But the hand-to-hand combat is real kind of fighting.

Just a matter of what you enjoy. I myself am bored to tears while playing Tekken. I can't play it for more then 30 minutes at a time because It simply doesn't interest me at all. I don't care about any of the characters and I just can't get into the game. MK on the other hand I see a character that I like and I put in the effort to learn how to master him/her. I'm not hating on Tekken its just not a game that I enjoy playing. If i want realism I play VF and when I want fun I play MK...it's simply the one of the funnest fighters for me. As for Soul Calibur...i don't put it into the same category as mortal kombat since its a weapons based fighter.

MKDA has a way better story line and better caracters. Vf4 and T4 are nothing special, all the same, what makes MKDA better than the rest is that they are trying to do something original with the game (fatalities, multiple fighting styles). Tekken is just another fighter game.

People often get turned off by VF just because you can't master it in 2 hours. It takes a long time to master just one character. I've been playing it since i got VF2 on my Saturn and I truely only know how to use one character.
