I hope Bo Rai Cho dies. >_> Seriously, he pissed me off.

I want Bo' back. Fixed with no infinites or OTG's. I love him as a character. Been a fan since i mastered his style in MKDA.

I like both of these characters...and since Li Mei is basically Bo Rai Cho's current student they fit together. That said even though I'm a complete Li Mei fanboy I want them to come up with a damn good reason for her to comeback if she comes back. Otherwise don't bother.

I say no to both. If the MKA stories transition them for survival then I hope MKA bios are non-canon. The whole farting/vomiting thing was lame for Mortal Kombat's atmosphere. Also, Li-Mei was very plain and boring to me... MK characters need to be more dark and unique design/appearance and move-wise.

Yeah I really don't want to see any of them. None of them didn't really bring anything to the table.

Both underrated and somewhat interesting characters. I don't think both should return. One or the other, I'd definitely be OK with. I'd lean more towards Li Mei coming back. Baraka kills Bo' Rai Cho during Armageddon, which sends Li Mei into a fury, and she slaughters Baraka. Bo' Rai Cho's dying words to Li Mei tell her that she has benefited from his training more than any of his other students, and she puts him in touch with another Outworld master, who has not taken a student in many years.

Li Mei tracks down this man, and finds he has a granddaughter and only has one arm. He has resigned from fighting, due to only having one arm, but Li Mei insists he trains her. This guy's granddaughter doesn't believe her grandfather is a martial arts master, which makes this guy question who he really is, and whether he is good enough to train new students. Li Mei feels that the granddaughter's doubt in her grandfather should not be material to his abilities to train, but this guy says that the faith of his granddaughter is the most powerful thing he has. If he cannot earn it, he can not teach Li Mei what she needs. He fights in the new Mortal Kombat to prove to himself, and to his granddaughter, that he is still an amazing martial artist, and then he will feel comfortable teaching Li Mei. He instructs Li Mei to stay behind at their home with his granddaughter, because Outworld is still a dangerous place, and he wants her safe.

Mortal Kombat 8 reveals some background about this new master. I was thinking of calling him "Lazzara," based off the name "Lazarus," who was raised from the dead. Lazzara doesn't come back from the dead, but his career as a fighter does. I was also maybe picturing him as the guy who trained Shao Kahn to fight. The horrors Kahn then forced upon the realms might have been what forced Lazzara to re-consider his path as a warrior.

In MK8, he is defeated by Shao Kahn (who still lives), but he survives, and he returns to his home. There, he trains Li Mei. He is attacked one day, however, and his granddaughter kidnapped. Li Mei volunteers to track her down. Lazzara is getting older and sorer, but he cannot sit back while horrible things happen to his granddaughter, so he does not follow too far behind.

The best option with bringing Bo' Rai Cho back, in my opinion, is to have Li Mei fall to darkness during Armageddon, and Cho has to kill his own student. He regrets not training her right, either in how to carry herself, or how to properly defeat Bo' Rai Cho, and he feels her falling and death are directly his responsibility. He resigns as a teacher, and becomes a more disgruntled "hands-on" fighter in deciding the realms. Maybe go ahead and make him the official protector of Outworld.

Y'know, if you let your eyes glaze over from bemusement bordering on massive trauma to the brains, the translucent Noobs in your sig look like fingers on a giant hand.

MK8 is supposed to be giving us a bit of a fresh start.
Shitty characters that get the kids snorting drink through their nose are the first to go. Trim the fat, so to speak. Fat being overweight characters who fight good, and fatty tissue in breasts. Whoop. There go a few more drinks!

As for you Mick-Lucifer, wtf kinda drugs are you on? You don't have to ruin everything that people say. It's said to be "ignorant". So for those of us wanting to see both Bo and Li Mei, or one or the other...who do you want to return (any newbies that came in MK4-MKA)? Btw, all the females have ballooned breasts, not just Li Mei. They say there's no such thing as bad characters. Only vessels for defining stories not yet told.
For the most part that's an edict I believe very strongly in, but for the sake of moving the franchise forward with a fresh start, cutting silly ill defined characters like Li Mei and Bo' Rai Cho is an easy part of a bigger job.
A job involving sixty-plus characters to be considered.

While you're right in pointing out the majority of magnificently misproportioned mammaries in the MK materfamilias. Might I mull to mention the merely moderate motiff of mammaries manifesting magnanimously maneuvered to such a revealing magnitude! A minimal modicum of MK madam manifests merely for meager characterization meandering maladroitly amidst minor machinations of MK menaces, misplaced amidst more motivated mechanics of CG models with moving mammaries.

I mean, even Li Mei's nearest rivals in the exposed bust department, Nitara and Mileena, had some sort of strong individual motivation and characterization.
As opposed to fluffing around a vague one-character tournament that leads to the addition of... a helmet. Li Mei's there to have purple-clad pushed up boobs!

Bo Rai Cho= A New God/ Protector of Outworld.
Li Mei= Has a lot of potential for a return.

Bo's is coming from his MKA ending, which I know is probably not canon, but who knows. As for Li, she maybe doubtful as well.

Li Mei is a female tragic character. She has a lot of potential in a more dark atmosphere, heck, she can be a perfect female main protagonist, maybe more than Sareena.

I don't know why these two characters, out of the sixty-plus, didn't occur to me sooner. It's like I was distracted by... better options, or something... But no more! I walk a better informed path, now!... Maybe!... In three or four days, we shall see!...

I'm just saying hopefully that we will hear something about returning characters from the Gamers Day thing. Wouldn't you want to hear about returning characters? I'm more interested of hearing who is returning than new characters.

Kudos on that alliteration Mick. I applaud your counter-argument, sir. Bravo! 3-4 days from now you will probably get no more than a teaser CGI of the Dragon Symbol's design, a title, and maybe a release date. Don't expect to find out the characters and the "returnees" if any.

I Really think they should return. But give Bo Rai cho his Sumo back. Otherwise he's only a drunk.

Bo' has to return. That's like taking away Shun Di, from VF. OR, Wang Jinrei from tekken. Bo' need's, to be back.

BUT, if they do come back, I'd have some conditions for each character.

:::Bo Rai Cho would have to = Master Cho from the MKConquest tv show. If he doesn't get serious, and they bring him back anyway.."Fail". Get rid of the silly vocals and overall silly personality, make the joke moves serious, and give him more variety out of the "drunken" styles. Drunken monkey, tiger, whatever. He's supposed to be a master...give it to me already.

:::Li Mei would have to find some kind of personality. To me, right now she's quite dull. Almost mindless even...idk. Maybe let me hear her talk or something. I just don't get anything from her character, and I hardly see how she's important to the contest, or overall story of the game. To me, she's like the "leach" character//personality. Latches onto any and everybody.

I've nothing against Bo' Rai Cho, but I think he'd have more impact dying than returning.

Li Mei, though, I'd like to see come back. I think her corrupted innocent story is interesting and maybe she can go somewhere. Maybe during Armageddon, have Li Mei give in to her corruption and kill Bo' Rai Cho. But then she regains her senses and is horrified by what she did. Then she can set herself up as Outworld's defender so what happened to her never happens to anyone else.

I think both of these characters are stupid and if they return it will be a sure sign that mk8 is nothing new

My opinion is no urinating matter, buddy. Have you heard anything about the game yet? Usually when every game is first introduced to the public it's introduced with a teaser, followed by everything else. Do you really believe Boon will go to Midway Gamers Day and say "Alright guys, I'd like to introduce my latest creation, Mortal Kombat 8! But before I tease you with what the game will actually look, play, and run like-- LET ME SHOW YOU MY RETURNEE'S GUYS!!!! I TOLD YOU EARLIER IT'S A COMPLETELY REVAMPED AND NEW GAME, WITH MAYBE THE EXCEPTION OF SCOP + SUB, BUT I LIED. I RETURNED ALL THE OLD CHARACTERS (ESPECIALLY MY DEEP AND FAVORITES LIKE BO AND LI), IN FACT I RETURNED THE SAME OLD SHITTY GRAPHICS AND FIGHTING SYSTEM TOO. ONLY NOW YOU CAN PLAY MK CHECKERS, MK SLUGGERS, AND KREATE A HARA-KIRI!!!!" Hell, I could be wrong... but the first thing I want to set sight on would be the FIRST teaser look as to what's ahead for us... kinda like what Resistance 2 did. When that fake Raiden teaser came out I was pretty stoked, and hopefully Midway can do the same. I know no one's opinion matters to you but your own because everyone else's opinion is stupid, but try not to get so tight in the pants over my two cents.

That said, I doubt Bo Fat So and his fart jokes will be in the next MK. Li mei, I wouldn't be surprised to see her, I kinda consider her the female Liu Kang. If she did not make it, I wouldn't be surprised either.
