How many times have we already heard (since the very beginning and past) that gameplay is always their main concern? Do you honestly buy that alternates out will make any difference?
I respect the fact that you care about gameplay above anything else, I care about it so I post “here” to make that clear, but I also know that there are other essential elements that make a game great in quality and beautiful in core, and believe it or not, even if alternates don’t even alter gameplay, they are fun and part of the game.
Your mission with this thread will fail badly, because all I see is an attempt to make people feel “content” and “not to care” about the lack of alternates and who knows what other artistic beauties of the game...using "gameplay" as an excuse.
You really have to learn to respect the fact that other people, plenty of more people actually, just don’t agree with you and see things from a different perspective, and that doesn’t mean they don’t care about gameplay ...it means they care about the entire game.
Just in case you get it wrong, I’ll say it again: Just because they don’t consider things trivial, like you do, doesn’t mean they don’t care about gameplay...that’s what you always imply, and that’s why you always get into arguments with everyone.
No alternates sucks mkf. They wont ruin the game, but you can clearly see how people are viewing it with that announcement...specially because of the reasons behind the statement of Ed...it was so typical.

And as for your question, its great Ed said that, but not to put you down man, but that same question was asked in an MKast...and they said no.
And how many times has Ed said yes to many things that, in the end, never come to be real?

The point is, people will care, they have the right to care and complain, and people caring doesnt make them not care about gameplay, and just because you think its trivial, it doesnt mean it is.
JUST SHARING MY OPINION MKF! I mean no rudeness or atatcks to you...but I think you should learn to word out your mind betterm because it feels like you constantly attack people for "caring about X thing you dont" about MK....and thats not fair from you, at all. Its like you imply that everyone but you is insane.
Thank God this game is looking fantastic and like the best "MK" yet. I cant wait to play it.
You should learn to live with the fact that people will care for this things Mkf, that this kind of things make people upset (very rightfully), and that whether you like it or not, they are important. You dont care, fine, but dont force the world to think like you, because whatever way you try it, it just wont work. Specially with this kind of stuff....gameplay is important, but its not because of gameplay we arent getting the alts. Im super happy with the amazing costumes they have given us, most are incredible (my fave has never looked better!

The point? lol it's no probl but I respectfully disagree with you a lot. That's easy pretty much to get it thru MK fans on what they SHOULD be concerned about MORE so then ones costume.
I know there are some obviously that want cool costumes but without a good game, who cares about what one looks like really? I mean I can understand it for the people who posted in here that "don't care about gameplay"
But that's not why I posted this thread, if you want to rant go rant to the rant thread about "why alterates are so important" no offense but there is a point to this thread and as you can see some of us actually happen to care about what's more important over something trivial as....umm an alternate costume. Just another fast side note, I understand some people on here/in this thread don't play online...that's fine but still that's irrelevant because online or off, you still want a good game to play gameplay wise right? Or perhaps I'm starting to think that some just don't understand how important gameplay is maybe? Granted, there's those fans out there that care greatly about costumes, story, mini games etc. Did I ever say they're not important? No, but I'm saying some of that stuff is trivial in comparison to gameplay. With no gameplay or good gameplay, what's the point in playing the game to begin with?
The older MK's having them for the people in here that have said, it's not an excuse it's a good valid point. Noticed not until MK4+ were people complaining or mentioning "cool an alternate" now that Midway happens to leave it out they receive hatred? Come on....if you're going to be bothered THAT much by that then you're not a true MK fan in my book.
There's more to the game "whole" then just something as trivial as an alternate costume and I'll argue that point forever against whoever feels different.
Afterall, the topic is blatent and I don't want to hear bitching about costumes in this thread.
@Fed, wrong again...as usual. This has nothing to do with "my ego" it's to get a logical point across which obviously you missed. I respect ones views if you feel differently, but that's NOT again...why I made this thread. I made it because I want to see/hear the fans on here that happen to care about gameplay above everything else. And I no, you clearly missed my point initially. I love everything MK but I do have and know what's logical when it comes to trivial shit as oppose to more important stuff which fans like you lack in. And obviously you show how much knowledge you lack about me if you really think I "just care about gameplay" and nothing else pertaining to MK ha, ha, ha....all I'm going to say. Ask anyone on here who knows me, and much aren't even on this forum. Some are...but most of them are in the general. I care about everything overall, which I've said already quite a few times on here but it's like a car you go to buy ok. You like the LOOK of the car right? But what's more important, how it looks or how it drives? What's the use of the car if it looks HOT but drives like shit? This thread can be closed since some people in here misunderstand the purpose........
