Well since the male ninjas return in this game there will definitely be AT LEAST 1 female ninja returnee, no doubt. Also, Sonya was the 1st MK babe, there's no reason why they wouldn't add her as well.

In a sort of opposition to XD84, I'd go Sonya over Kitana. MK3-T(Keri Hoskins) // MKSM Sonya are the best interps.

From what I managed to understand from the thread title, its common sense among fans that both, Kitana and Sonya, are very likely to be in, same chances as they are both iconic. That’s why I said I think *both* disserve it, but that *I* prefer Sonya.

BTW, I’ve been dying to tell you: AMAZING sigs. I'm kind of surprised of how much you hate Quan Chi and Shinnok though...they aren’t *that bad*.

1 first MK female.
2 Intended to be one of the 3 MK heros
3 a tiny bit more iconic
4 has done much more than Kitana to save earthrealm
5 has some possible DC counterparts

From the two Kitana is way more interesting. The only reason why Sonya would possibly be in the game is because she was the first female in MK. Being the first doens't always mean the best.

Her story is generic, her look is generic, everything about sonya is generic. I must admit I did like the character in the first Mortal Kombat movie but they havent been able to portray her the same way in the games. Maybe this time Sonya will be be wearing her thong all the way up beside her breasts.

Id prefer Kitana to be the only female from the Mk side (well Sareena or SIndel would be great but I dont think theyve got much chance).

As much as I dont like her, I think Mileena is more recognisable than Sonya so if any other female makes it, it should probably be her.

I have a feeling this game is basically gonna be MK2 vs Justice League Heroes (with the DC side being a mixture of the villains and heroes in that game)

I don't care if she was in the first game, Iconic characters don't excatly mean the same thing as classic characters to me. I care more about how cool they are... and sonya just ain't. She's the cliche "tough" blonde. No personality and frankly I think she's boreing.

Kitana's been such a lame character since MK4. All of her edge is gone. Terrible character development.

This is a woman who served as an assassin for TEN THOUSAND YEARS! You don't suddenly become a saint when you find out your true origins. If they'd done Kitana right, she would be CONSTANTLY tormented by guilt and battling with her past. Instead she's become a stereotype with no interesting aspects too her character.

Sonya is the original female warrior, and the more iconic one. She is also more famous with non-MK fans. Simply put, she's an ICON.

Hmmm, despite my strong dislike of her and all the lame special forces characters (including cage), your right. Much more non hardcore/non mk fans would know Sonya.

How do you know she isn't? Her manic overworking and becoming the extreme opposite of a heartless assassin suggests overcompensation. What could Kitana be overcompensating for?
