Because MK is known for it's characters, story, fatality etc, not it's fighting engine... it's always been like that.

I realize that. There's just one problem. MK happens to be a fighting game, not a comic book. Some of us would like it to be a good fighting game.

I won't buy anything just because it has the MK logo, but I loved MKD, and I'm sure I'll love MKA.. since theyre fun, and that's the point of games. i cant believe people actually care about the story rather then the main part of the game O_o i could care less about the story, i play it for the fighting. i can say for damn sure its crap. im praying they ATLEAST fix all the glitches MKD has. also not to create new ones :-\ i know all about the games, i have prolly played 10x's more then you have. can you say you play the game every day, just to read the same story lines over and over? prolly not, why because you done that once or twice already. but where the replay value comes in, is the fighting part. the fighting is the MAIN thing the mk team should be focusing on, not the story. a good story will only bring some one back a few more times. a good fighting game would bring some one back every time. i wish they'd get it and understand that its not the story or the characters being used over and over again that losing them fans. its the damn god awful game play and all of it brokeness..

Look its like this, You're never gonna get the Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur style MK game that hardcore fighting game fans want because Ed doesnt have the time. MKD could have been a billion times worse than it was. John Tobias could have made it and and you would have got a Tao Feng clone (worst 3D fighter ever) Yes MKD was flawed but its wasnt as fucked as you people claim it is (the online mode was). You can either accept MK in its current state or hate it, either way get over it because what you want MK to be is NEVER gonna happen.

Then in that case, why call it MK? lol.

Also, some of the people in here are acting as if EVERY MK game ever created was broken a bit or has glitches, thats not true.UMK3 was awesome gameplay wise, and MK 2 imo.Although MK 2 was the most defensive game and slower then UMK3 it was still a great game.

Adressing the previous post above, no the reaction is exaggerated to a degree, but it is rightfully so. If MK keeps this trend up, the franchise will slip further into the shitpit, what we don't really want to see, would we?

60+ characters = tons of recycled fighting styles. I bet 1/4 of the characters will be the same. I hope they really fix the animation too, instead of them looking like fighting mannequins. I'll give this game a chance and not be too quick to prejudge but when I know the same system from MKDA and MKD will be used it makes it hard to want to even try this game.

WTF the video game press loved MKDA and MKD, they have a 80-90% approval rating.

Not the rpess it's pretty obvious they are biased and paid to be so. I was talkign about the global opinions voiced in major forums, magazines, and shows and well above theese and anything else...communities. KI and MK were criticised because of the dial-a-combo system. MK doesn't have that kind of publicity Midway makes it out to be.

The same could be said about the global opinions with negative bias.
