Keep up the good comments and work in here, guys. I hope all goes well at E3, Malone. With characters only having two styles each, balancing will be more important than ever. I realise that it's very hard to pull off with 60+ characters, but most of the styles have already been used and have known bugs/glitches, so it shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Actually, I have taken liberty in posting a thread about the fighting engine in the Future MK forum at the Midway Boards, blatantly asking the people there what should be implemented in future MK games to fix the fighting engine. I even gave a link to danadbab's stickied thread about character-specific glitches. Here's a link to the thread, if you wanna see it. I suggest that anyone who cares about the gameplay go register at the Midway Forums (if you haven't done so already) and reply to that thread. And when met with opposition from the "fanboys" and "fangirls" there, keep repeating your stance. That's exactly what I'm going to do there.

i signed up last year i think. only posted a few times and never went back. all i ever saw was the typical "scorpion vd sub zero who will win???" or "whats your fav ninja" blah blah blah. much like it is here (which is why i took a damn near 2 year vacation, lol)

I took the test in your sig amd came up with this, Nakadai Sakakida lol

Anyhoo, what's the point in complaining to Midway? The y don't care because there are more people who like MK's gameplay like it is (as in fighting, not fatalities blood ect.)and the fan boys n00bs who only want mini games and millions of pallete swap ninjas. They will make more money if they continue to make it like it is. They only care about the profits, and more people will be happyi fit is the same. The only thing I want MK to get is the wake-up game, but it's never going to happen.

some good points Nakadai Sakakida-san lol.

midway claims "we listen to the fans"..they should change that to "we listen to the 10 people on the message boards that wanna see chameleon and meat with ninja outfits and can do 30 fatalities".

sad

I would greatly appreciate a wake-up game. We all know the "counters" were a let down. We expected smooth-as-silk retaliatory moves, but really it's just another word for a more-general combo-blocker.

I stopped playing MK for the gameplay long ago, I guess. I think the gameplay is decent, but it's hardly amazing. Most fighting games have better fighting engines and most people would say that that alone makes MK a relic of the past, but beyond that there is much to be found. The gore will remain vital, even if it has lost its luster. The graphics were always too plastic for my taste, but character designs, for the most part, were pretty good (with the exception of most new characters.) Music has never been its strong point. The storyline, however, is pretty good, and the atmosphere is very gritty and brutal, something other fighters simply lack. Every hit looks painful, as it should, and the 3-styles are, at least, innovative. This is still a franchise that seems like it has more potential than any other but that it's taking too small steps to be the best fighter it could be. I suppose, giving it a budget like Tekken's, we could have high-quality FMV endings, smooth-as-silk motion captures, and highly stylized graphics. As it is, I still love it, mainly as an old MK fan. I still have high hopes, but I know what to expect, and that means I'm not really disappointed. To me, the franchise really can't go anywhere but up.

It's official, MKA will be crap.

The moves are even faster than before, its a guessing game again....

"The new Parry system" - DA poor reversals with a new name.

When Boon was asked about Wake up game (good job MKO for asking) he just started mumbling, clearly, we will not have anything.

You can take your created character online?? wtf?? This will ruin online.

And for those who believe Boon who keeps saying they will the test the bosses and bla bla bla...... Midway couldn't test 24 characters you really think they will fully test 60?

Obviously, you can't adapt to a simple videogame. Here's my advice to you. If you think it's going to be crap, change it. Change the gameplay, the audio, the video, everything. Hack the f**ker or something.

Oh, and f.y.i. All 60 characters, and all arenas were made during the creation of Mortal Kombat Deception. They did that so they wouldn't waste any time with selecting the characters and arenas they'd bring back. You can basicly say that Boon has been working on MKArmageddon since 2003. To say, I really don't know how it's going to be that much diferent from Deception.

You're damn right it won't ruin online. This is the chance to see how far our creative little minds will take us. Only the greatest of minds will prevail though, so maybe you guys should like, start thinking about what you'll want for your characters. I've been making up crap for years, but I never thought I'd actually have those characters in a Mortal Kombat game. I can't wait to test them out.

1) Gameplay looks incredibly smoother. What more do you want? The slow, looking characters from Deception that looks like bits of clay getting pushed around by people?

2) "The new Parry system" - a lot better than being stuck with the same crap from Deception. Atleast they are adding stuff that in fact COULD lead to a some-what more balanced game when they aren't even CLOSE to finishing it and giving us the final product.

3) Wake-Up Game - Why bother when this engine is broken anyway? If anything, he should just not waste his time and save that for the new, improved engine that we'll be getting with MK8 on next-gen.

4) Yes, you can take your created fighter online. That's one of the main purposes. To make it challenging and fun. When you go to play online, you'll never know what to expect. Instead of 60+ characters, now there will be an unlimited amount of opponents that you can face in the online world. That's one of the bright sides to Create-A-Fighter. I think you're the only person I've seen on here that DOESNT think that idea is cool.

5) Better he's actually saying it then not saying a word. This atleast gives us hope that they are actually attempting to do just that this time around. So in conclusion, it's official. It's not even E3 yet and you're making yourself look like a dumbass. wink

1) I want moves to have more than 3 frames, than you will be able to SEE the moves and BLOCK them, a very basic thing in good fighting games, but not in MKD.

2) Why do you settle for a mediocre parry system, did you see the video? it looks exactly like the reversals in MKDA and they were crap.

3) Why bother? are you kidding?

50\50 after a plant, Bo and Darrius's glitch throw combos, free throws, some infinites.

If MKD had a proper wake up game and throw reversals so many glitches would have been prevented.
It's a must.

4) How can you defend against a character you don't know?
It will ruin online play.

5) I remind you that this is the guy who in response to a question about Bo's infinite he said and I quote: "That's what breakers are for" they have no idea what they are doing, we will get the same game with more glitch combos, on the air and on the ground.

I couldn't even get to page 2 without seeing another one of your "It'll suck!" posts. If you think it's going to suck that bad, become a graphic artist.

Oh, just in case you're going to make a comeback reply: Don't worry about me. I already have that as a back-up plan if I screw up as a lawyer.

What is this? The WWE. You're going to be in a world of hurt if you get jumped on the street arn't you. In case you didn't play Deception, online was ruined by refresh rates, frames, ppl using infinates, and to top it all off they would leave right before they got beat(that way they didn't take the loss and you don't get the win). The lag was also terrible for Deception's online mode.

face it using K-A-K online will not ruin what has already been ruined.

One would encounter many strangers in real life, and might have to beat up a few. That's the same as playing MKDeception for the first time. You have know idea who the hell Kobra is, but you're going to kick his ass anyway, simply because you want to win (or because you just feel like seeing blood). There's nothing wrong with facing a new challange. If there was, MK2 would have never been released, nor any other videogame sequal.

I see your point, but then again...

The idea is to make the game better, because it's bad.

Not to make it worse, because it's already bad.

Thankfully, someone on the MK staff already thought of this. Ed has stated that Created characters will be limited in online play.

The play rooms have the option of not allowing custom characters to be selected.

No. The difference is that Noob is a character in the game, without changed movesets. Don't be stupid. People who make KAK will make a character with the most broken moves in the game and will win if they know what they're doing against any other character. KAK will be god tier if the player can give the created characters any move they want. No matter how broken BRC, Noob, or anyone is, a KAK will > a developer made character.

Just because you can't exploit the game to win doesn't mean others won't.

True, but I don't care. I don't play online! lol, have fun playing the stupid fanboys!

jk.

Well, if you're a really good gamer you should expect the unexpectred, or in this case exploit the idiots character. If they make a broken character then they must be idiots. Those idiots won't find the infinites, and there broken character will be easy to beat.

Besides that, I don't think anyone will just throw in a bunch of stuff together, make a cheap character, and go online to do infinites to annoy people and say he/she's the beast in MK.

not sure if any one has been keeping up w/ the MKD glitch thread. but forum member Check discovered that player 1 recovers alot faster then player 2.
right from the get go player 2 is at a disadvantage in fights. player one can do more glitches then player 2 because of this.
