that's the point, no fighter does this. it's called INTERACTING. soooooo, street fighter, tekken, SSBB, SC4, VF5 are all real fighters. tekken has garbage cans and panda bears for god sake. come on, tekken even has a tree that fights. yea, tekken is a real fighter. I really hope they have a spoon you can fight with next

largely a joke especially recently. it's just missing so many things that other fighters on the market have.

i guess compared to some other fighters it's a joke but it's still a good franchise.

depends how u define what a "real fighter" is.... some fighters r more realistic then others... but video games are not ment to be realistic...(besides sports)

In general though, I don't think MK was really meant to be a "real fighting game". Mainly because, it has consistently missed the boat on being said "real fighting game". To me, it was meant to be a fun game that is based in fighting. There's a certain flexibility in that because, as long as there's fighting in the game, and as long as that's the main premise, the game can, has, and will sell well under that genre umbrella. "Fighting Game"

To rate it on competency, and in comparison to other "real fighting games", could very well be a simple conclusion....Mortal Kombat is not a technical fighter. Every body knows that though......They don't get alot of the common sense stuff that a technical fighter has in it, correct alot of the time. I think that's on purpose though......

So, MK is not that game. It fits better as a movie counterpart game. Like those Matrix games, or the Jet Li or Cho Yun Fat games, for example. This one just started out as a video game first, and it started out alot better than those games did too.

With all that said though, it is excellent competition for the fighting game genre. Which, at the end of the day, I think is the only "real" point.

Of terms of technicality,No.In my terms,yes.I don't consider it as "Deep" of a game as Tekken,but I'd still prefer to play Mortal Kombat.
